Satellite L300 - transformer power supply makes light rattling

Hi, thanks for reading.

Recently, I noticed that when my laptop is connected to the power supply, the transformer makes a slight sound of rattling, just loud enough to be heard on a movie running at full volume, but not loud enough to be heard unless you look for it.
The click is sporadic and does not seem to relate to what is happening on the laptop.
I said it could be an overheating problem, but I've had the laptop for a couple of months and longer, I have instructed to at the same time is 8 hours.

It doesn't seem to be any negative effect on the computer, but it made me a little worried.

Thanks for your help,
Marlon

If a technician can open your adapter, it will find a burned capacitor "the biggest one" change

  • Satellite L300D-12u: power supply works not - is threre a guarantee?

    Hello.

Today, I was surfing the Internet when suddenly my laptop says, is no longer on electricity.
I touched the power supply and the connector that is immersed in the laptop was very hot (not the big case which becomes usually hot, only the connector).

I tried several times to make it work again to take a new start or cool connector, but it still does not work.

To make sure, that it is the question of food, I used the power supply of my mother, who is similar to mine, and then it worked.

So my question: do I have a warranty on my power supply?
I bought my laptop to 29.8.2008 in Germany and is a Satellite L300D - 12u.

Thank you for all the answers!

    Hello

Adapter is covered by warranty for laptop.
So if laptops warranty is still valid your adapter should be covered by the warranty as well.

  • Satellite L300 is dead - the battery light blinks orange 6 times

Does anyone know what was the cause of this yellow flashing light?
I have the same problem with a Satellite L300.

Battery light flashes orange 6 times when I press the power button and nothing else happens. Dead laptop.
I just picked up a service guarantee yesterday where they replaced memory card and the mother.
He worked for 45 minutes then screen erased and won't turn on again.

    Anyone know about this problem?

    Hello

The blink code provides some kind of clerical error, and this error is not always the same.

Individual booklets are equiupped with different motherboards and provide different codes.

It looks like a hardware problem and therefore, you should contact the ASP again.

The warranty is still valid and you should take it!

Don t waste time own investigation but get in touch with the guys again and explain your situation and that this error has occurred again.

  • Satellite L750 - block power supply

Is someone can you please advise me what is the auxiliary power supply for this model.
    The battery shows 10.8.

    Car chargers that I have been watching are 18v - 20v 90W or 120W.
These are suitable car chargers or they will damage the laptop.
Due to the nature of my business, I need the laptop on charge while I'm driving long distance.

    Thank you

    Hey,.

Simplest is that check you the spécifciations on the underside of your laptop. Usually, there is a sticker with a denunciation of the intensity and tension.

The car charger should have the specs of that too.
For example, if your laptop 19V, you need a charger with 19V too has need. Amps must be identical or greater, that s no problem.

  • Satellite Pro L40 - power supply is hot

Just taken delivery of the Satellite Pro L40 - I am a little worried the heat from the power to the laptop, sat for an hour and is extremely hot. Is this normal?

    Hey M,

Yes, it's quite normal for the hot supply. In some cases, it may become very hot indeed and Toshiba put a sticker of warning about feeding on this 'feature '.

The adapter provides a current variable to meet the needs of the laptop, then you should expect the adapter to heat up significantly when running applications or games that use a lot of resources of the laptop.

    Hello John

I think this problem should be properly verified by the service partner. On this path, it is not easy to give an accurate diagnosis. To correctly power AC power adapter, power on the laptop power and power electronic housing must work well. If a place is defective, you can expect problems.

In my opinion, the unit should be checked by technicians.

    Please can someone help?

I'm not a computer Wizard comes from a background working brilliant woman who doesn't want to be ripped off my laptop and then yesterday decided do not pay, it is quite dead.

I left it on charge for a few hours and nothing, I tried to use it without battery and nothing husband checked plug fuse is fine.
Have no idea what to do next.

    Can someone please help?
    Thank you

    > Don't know what to do next.
I'm afraid there is not much you can do about Mr. always is your laptop's hardware problem. On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what it is. I can't say for sure, but I assume the electronic power pack is a troublemaker.

Now, all you can do is contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They have special diagnostic tools and can check what the problem is here.

  • Satellite Pro A100 - power supply is broken

    Hello

One of my friends had a Toshiba Satellite Pro A100 (we think), but the food is now broken. Find a new buy was a bit awkward, as we are not sure of who did and who are not.
So, here I am asking for help in this issue:
-That food can be purchased and used for a Toshiba Satellite Pro A100 (or possibly A100-514-515)?
    - Or if the foregoing proves too difficult to answer, info on the requirements (for example, watts, volts, Hertz, etc.) will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Morsby

I think of the A100 different adaptors depending on the model. If you need know exactly what is the model number. Some 19v, others are 15v.

PS. You should buy an original Toshiba adapter. Ive heard stories of cards not blowing Toshiba motherboard and other problems.

  • Satellite P10 873: power supply and CPU Overload

    I have the laptop of P10 - 873 for 4 months.
The problem is that it turns off when it is connected to an electrical outlet.
I can only work using the battery. When the battery goes out I normally load (with the laptop turned off) and then I use the notebook only with the battery again.
If I connect it to AC power turns off after 3 minutes!

I checked the CPU usage when connected to the AC and it seems that the CPU is too important (from 65 to 98% - where it stops!) without running applications other than the process required for the laptop to operate.

I sent the laptop to TOSHIBA and they returned saying that they have updated the BIOS.
Unfortunately, the problem was not fixed!

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Hello christina123.

Sylvain is right. It is not a problem with the bios.
I think it's a problem with the motherboard.

    Good bye

I'll need help to uninstall and then reinstall energy saver.
The operating system is Windows XP Professional 2002.

Thank you very much in advance

    Hi mate

    Just a question;
    Common Modules installed?
    You should do this!

But before install you common Modules and energy savings you must first uninstall the energy saver!
If this is not possible in the control panel-> software, then install a CCLeaner and this tool would be to clean the registry and operating system.

  • Satellite A500 - battery light flashes when connected to the power supply

    Win 7 Satellite A500 PSAM3A-03P00E.

Battery light flashes when connected to the power supply (intermittent fault), when I disconnect the sector and reconnect the flashing stops and battery (high capacity) continues to receive.

Also, when battery light blinks the keyboard backlight stays on when it should white and if the backlight is turned off and the battery light starts to blink the keyboard backlight turns on, all other functions seem to work well.

Charges of battery and the wedges load properly (when the battery flashes).

    Hello

Have you noticed this problem since the first day of purchase?
Theoretically, it could be possible that your battery begins to malfunction
On the other hand, an electrical problem could also be possible

    However, try this:
Remove the battery and the AC adapter. Then press and hold button power 30 sec long.
Then insert the battery and plug AC adapter still does that help?

By the way: this is the BIOS updated? If this isn't the case, perform an update.

  • Satellite L300 booted on battery but not on power supply

I have a problem that has developed with a computer for daily use about 3 months ago.

When the computer is connected to power at startup, the computer starts at halfway in Windows XP with the first XP screen and then it sounds like the disk hard knocking and stops and then the screen stops and shakes with a lot of lines and bands in the screen and the distortion and the machine hangs.

I must then hold down the power button and restart.
I can then start it in safe mode.

If I have the computer on the starter battery, it always starts normally and all is well.
Once the computer all them booted up, I can then connect the power supply and run it all day.

Any ideas why the machine hangs at startup when it is started on the power and no battery?
I had plugged on many energy sources and even changed the power supply with another machine, and it still has the problem.

I have loaded all drivers and the latest bios driver and display driver.

Don't you think that it is a hardware or software problem?
    Thank you!!

    > Ideas why machine freezes on boot to the top when it is started on the power and no battery?

In my opinion its definitely a hardware problem. The question is what part is affected.
I think you should test another adapter.
Abnormal power supply may cause these problems.
Otherwise if the AC adapter isn't the troublemaker, I think that this failure of the only motherboard may cause this problem.

  • Satellite L300 - 1 G 6 does not light

Been asked to examine Satellite L300 a neighbor. The battery is permanently dead - I get 6 orange flashes of the LED battery status, then it must be replaced.

However, even if I remove the battery the laptop lights at all. Is this normal behavior for a L300 Satellite? Most of the other laptops I've experienced the tension very well despite the absence of the battery.

    All comments gratefully received.

    see you soon

    Roger

    Hi Roger

Each notebook can begin with AC power only, of course if there is no hardware problem.
The flashing of the led is quite strange.
Have you noticed all flashes when you connect the power supply only?

  • Satellite NB10T-A-102 used power up - no lights

    Hello

My NB10T-A-102 SATELLITE has stopped working together 9 days after that its warranty (1 year) lack. Its been a great machine (so far), his dishes seen very little, it is not carried on many (just for most at home). I tried power until Sunday morning and nothings happening, no lights at the front then he seemed to want to do something (like he was pressing the last battery juice) but then nothing. I checked the power supply with a multimeter and its delivery 19v which is correct, but there is no (orange I think) led on the front of the machine. IV tried to take the battery and discharge the static electricity, but nothing seems to work.

Any ideas? Quite disappointing if its totally given upward after a year of use of the lamp.

If the power supply light is not illuminated when the AC is plugged, its most likely a motherboard problem.

  • Satellite x 200 battery or power supply issues

    I have a satellite x 200 - s20. Owner since new, 2 and a half years.
The laptop works perfectly, but I don't know if I need a new battery, power or maybe there is a hardware problem (but I doubt it).

When it is connected to the power outlet, provide the following happpens:

He started using the battery instead of the power supply.
Power and battery leds turn on and turn off (on during a few seconds and then off for a few seconds).
At this point, the battery stops charging.

In the manual it mentions something on one of the lights turn blue, none have ever done that.

    Hope someone can advise
    Thank you
    Strand

    Hello

In my opinion, you should first check if the power adapter is not a malfunction.
If the AC adapter would work properly, then the battery might not be charged and the battery led not turn to blue because the battery is not fully charged.

I would recommend so check the AC adaptor first.
Of course this is only my personal opinion and I could be wrong too
