• First CC: Work area bar

  In CS6 inside the timeline, there is a solid grey bar with tabs or at each end under the time code that establishes the working area, which is useful if you want to determine the length of a section of the timeline or if you want to export a particular area of your sequence.   On Prem CC, there is a transparent gray bar above the time code with a tab or right on the left side.  I cannot find a way to reach the right tab and actually don't know if there is a tab on the right.  This is the new normal or wrong my settings?   Is there another way to create the workspace?

  But if you want a bar of activities, all you have to do is click your heels three times and... Oops, it's something else.

• A lot of images. How to select by using the preview window (work area)?

  I have 15 images that I put on a background (picture 16) in the style of a collage.  Each image has an adjustment layer bound to her for me to mix an image manually in the next.  This worked fine, but now I have 15 images with rounded edges and I learned how to change them, I hit a problem, that I wasn't expecting.  My planned process is to move these images in a variety of sizes and positions until I got the look I love.    The only way I could work on that's too painful (scrolling up and down my palette of layer until I find the picture i took for target, select the layer, Ctrl + to highlight in the preview window and then move and size).  With 32 layers, it is very tedious.  It makes more sense for me to select in the preview window (even if it means hitting a hotkey multiple times until I select the picture I want to work with).

  Maybe I approach the task entirely the wrong way.  I'm willing to try any suggestion.  I like to do this kind of project, and I moved to Adobe because I thought that I could take advantage of its extra power to do a better job.

  I am relatively new to PSE 8, but not new for photoediting.  I, are looking for an answer on this forum and the web in general, but can not get close to a solution.  Thanks for your help!

  Edit: Using the technique I describe above, when I move to the work area (what I called window preview), the layer I selected off the coast of the Layer palette has a finely dashed around it, there is another area apparently random, highlighted by a blue line and line dotted yet another seemingly random area highlighted with a heavier white.  These hold the key my solution?

  Yes, that's the downside of the technique, it's that you need move the brush and gum to get your mask just a clipping mask.

  As far as being able to see what your paint before painting, make a copy of your image layer and put it at the bottom of your layer stack

  Then, set its opacity to say 75% or so to be semi-transparent.

  Now you can paint on your layer mask to bring your full image. Hide or display the background layer let's you see the result and quickly return the Semitransparent 'outline '.

  For some unknown reason view the left work area or right, using my mouse dragging my finger on the mouse or the touchpad of my MacBook, stops working.

  As you probably know, AE CC 2015 is the first step in a major redesign of the architecture, separating the rendering engine from the user interface for the first time in the history of AE 20 + years. This redesign of the architecture is a necessary step to improve the performance of After Effects, but it takes awhile (and versions) for them to pass through it. Thus, during this period of transition as they are the introduction of elements of the new architecture, sometimes it can be easier to use the old version to work.

  I have CC 2014 and 2015 CC installed on all my machines at my home studio so I can bounce back if need be (project files are interchangeable between the two versions). I prefer to work in 2015 CC because is much more vivid, the better management of the expression, etc, but I usually go with CC 2014 because there multiprocessing and 2015 CC doesn't have the replacement for that yet. If you have not installed CC 2014, it is very easy to install it next to CC 2015. Information here.

  If you do not want to see the work area of the Cache in the context feature to come back sooner rather than later, file a feature request. In the conversations I had with people from EI team, have queries make a big difference in the weighting of priorities. So, if you know other people who lack this feature, ask them to file feature requests too.

• The radial filter guide shows only not in the work area

  I upgraded to Lightroom CC on the release and recently made the last update.  Now my radial filter does not show in the work area.  I can turn it on in the selective settings panel, but there are no guidelines indicating the size/shape of the mask.  The mask shows when I check/uncheck the mask Show Overlay box or the 'o' key (keyboard shortcut), but still no guidelines.  Radial filter appears in the history panel as well.  The selective brush seems to operate normally.  I'm on an IMac using OSX 10.10.2 2013.  I quit and restarted Lightroom CC so that rebooted my machine.  I don't have this problem on my MacBook Pro that has been updated at the same time.

• Audio can be disabled in preview mode before 2015 CC up to any work area has been made?

  In my current project, some areas on the timeline can render in real-time, but others last much longer. Whenever I listen to excerpts, audio begins to play very well and then struck a wall, then play, then stop, etc.. It's maddening. My current workaround is to disable audio, full of the workspace and then reactivate the audio track. Unfortunately, even this does not always like a completely rendered timeline will sometimes still below drop in real time without obvious reason. So audio can be turned off Preview until the entire work area has been made?

• How to export a modifiable sequence (work area) of first cc on a mac?

  I'm tying to export a sequence of work area for use on another project. I have a mac and pc, comes and goes. I tried AVI, but there is no option for this format. What is the best format editable for me to export on? I also tried the media encoder. No luck. Help!

  You want to use the Project Manager in Premiere Pro to make a copy of your sequence to copy the relevant parts source (with handles, you can set) clips to an external drive and which lead to the hand to the other editor.

  The question will be if you need to have as project manager transcodes images in a compatible format, it is done.

• When I open an image in Photoshop, I can not see the file.  The thumbnail on the right, but I do not see the image on the work area. I use Windows 8

  When I open Photoshop CS6, I can't see the image.  The thumbnail is visible on the right side and the work area shows file information, but not picture.  I've updated PS, my driver. The same goes for the jpg or RAW.

  Make sure that your drivers are up-to-date. Try to disable the GPU acceleration in preferences then restart Photoshop.

  I have to make the 750 videos this month and don't want to go through each sequence and configure it to display the work area. In the latest version of SOUL, make work was default zone. Let me know how can I set this up as a batch process so I don't have to spend all day clicking on through one by one.
