Transport SSD adapter?

Hi all, I picked up a X220i of craigslist and the previous owner swapped for a 256 GB SSD HARD drive, but when I opened the crack, I noticed the SSD has been installed very coward and he used towels and paper to keep in place.

I guess I should get a holder or transport any to make sure that the SSD is correctly installed.  I saw some HDD from 1.8 to 2.5 in SSD cartridge online, but I don't know if it's the right thing.  Can someone let me know what I need to do in order to ensure that the SSD is correctly installed in the computer.  I know his coward because I sometimes get errors when I boot because the thing is properly stabilized.

Thanks in advance for your expertise and help.

Installation of the screw for the hard drives and SSD is the same size and in the same place to make it easy to move from one to the other. So a HARD drive caddy/rails will work fine with an SSD.

I'm working on an Air of MacBook 2015 for a customer.  The user spilled liquid on the keyboard, and now it does not start.  They took for a genius, whose repair estimate was high enough that they decided to buy a new MBP instead.  I restored their data from a backup and they are in good shape now, but now I want to wipe SSD of the MBA to keep their personal data to end up in the wrong hands.  Two days later and I still can't find an adapter that will allow me to access the drive on another Mac (I don't have an another MBA from 2015 to use).  Any of you know where I can find an adapter to do so, in order to connect to it and wipe it off?  Here are the specs:

    MacBook Air Core i5 - early 2015

    Model #: A1466 (EMC 2925)

    256 GB SSD (Samsung model #: MZ-JPV256R/0 has 2)

The SSD has a 16 + configuration 12 pins on one side and a configuration pins 11 + 14 on the other.

I know Macs is very much a moving target because they always change their configurations, but this model came out a few years, and I'm a little surprised that I can't find any SATA or USB adapter for it.  Any ideas how I can erase the disc without physically assault would be greatly appreciated.

OWC can have a speaker or you can find them on Amazon. Depends on what the SSD card is exactly in the computer. Some Apple computers do not use the standard pinout that Samsung and other manufacturers use to commercial cards, instead they use those who are owners. However, if the card has been damaged then it will be useless.

Standard PCIe SSD cards have only a pinout on the map, not two, as you can see in the link you provided.

  • Pavilion dv2700: SSD adapter

Can someone tell me the name of the interface of current hard drive in my laptop?  There is nothing like an SATA interface.

I want to swap the hard drive from the factory with a new SSD SATA but not know how to call and had to buy an adapter that will help in this regard.

    Hello:

The drive from your PC is actually a sata drive.

There is an interface to the drive that looks like it's part of the training, but it can be removed to expose the typical sata drive connections as shown below.

I can't tell you, what if an SSD will work in your laptop or not.

If you have an Intel processor and chipset, and install an Intel SSD, it could.

I have a processor Intel 535 120 GB SSD in an old HP nc6400 notebook with the Mobile Intel 945 chipset and it works beautifully.

If your laptop computer has a processor nvidia chipset and amd that an SSD can do not work at all.

I can tell you that if your laptop is a nvidia chipset and amd processor, TRIM SSD support will not be enabled because this controller does not have an advanced host controller interface.

There are many others, I just took that as a result of a search on amazon for "tray from 2.5 to 3.5"

Newegg also has a lot of success on this same search.  Choose one that looks like smoothly with your existing platters of the drive Bay.

I made myself not too long ago, but I have mine picked up at the brick and mortar computer specialty store pay about $10.00.  In line would have been cheaper, but I was there, he had, and he didn't wait.

  • Headphone Bose QuietComfort 25 with iPhone7. The voice that is not transported via adapter?

I use a pair of these Bose headphones for my work all day, and while I was happy to get my iPhone7, I'd hate for these headphones do not work.  I assumed that since the 7 came with an adapter, everything would be fine and I hear very well thanks to them, but my voice will not operate not through. Tested my wife and try to speak to Siri, they couldn't hear me, but I could hear them.

I tested my Apple Earpods iPhone6 through the adapter and it works great... it must be a problem with the Bose? Anything else I can try?

Fortunately, I did not get my hands on an iPhone 7 again.

I have two different Bose headphones and wouldn't be happy if inline remote and microphone will not work with the lightning to the 3.5 mm adapter.

    Hello

I have an ssd at a broken macbook air thnsn2128gsps,
Is there a converter normal SATA or USB interface 2/3?

I understand these SSDS use 3.3V and the normal SATA is 5V, so a voltage change is necessary.

I want to just connect to a PC (Got the software to read macdisks) to get the data off the drive.

    Thanks in advance.

This 128 GB SSD Toshiba seems to bear a common mSATA PCIe interface.

SSDS all have sons the same size and holes threaded on the bottom and sides.  They all use the same fine metric threads live short (short, so they don't lower).  These screws must come with the adapter, and I live in general using the lateral holes.  Parts of the adapter have threaded, 3 holes and you will use the back ahead and away from those for channels of the drive Bay.  If you look at each side of a standard 3.5 "HDD, you will see the same same spacing holes.

Some jobs need the SSD to shift to the left so the orientation of the SSD SATA power and data ports match exactly where they would be if the current drive was a 3.5 "HARD drive clutter.  An example is the drive in a Z620 of drawers which accept 3.5 form factor devices "and slides of drawers in the deep part of the case and automatically mesh with ports of power/data SATA back inside.

Jobs that fuel just a loose cable and the data cable for the SSD is really doesn't matter much if the SSD is an adapter which keeps it more centered or offset to the left.  I've seen cases where a disk HARD 3.5 "given in the lower Bay and a centered SSD is in the upper drive Bay and there was nearly not enough cable length to reach easily shifted left for drives staggered in the Center.  You can see in the photo below that the Garland of feeding on the HARD drive has two unused SATA power below connectors, and there is not a lot of room between them.

The card you chose seems good... solid metal.  For the HP 8200 Elite CMT I have access to screws 4 total special 6-32 UNC silver HP threaded screw threaded back ahead and away from the screw holes on both sides of the adapter, and then you use the extraordinary end threads metric short screws mentioned above to fix the SSD to the adapter, as shown in the pictures of Amazon.  These HP silver screw 6-32 no metric I'm talking using Torx or flat screwdriver and their leaders are trained to slip into the channels of the drive Bay.

There are also other designs which are designed specifically for some HP workstations that include mounts insulation rubber with the sliding mechanism.  I don't think you have that... Here is a picture of eBay one of the 8200 Desktop Elite CMT demonstrating the existence of space on the left for 8 of these silver screw to store, which 4 are missing and used on 3.5 "single drive, you see there.  Don't throw those... they are not something, you can go to Ace hardware and buy.

  • G6 2255 ev Pavilion: ssd

    Hello
I would like to know what kind of ssd, adapts to my laptop.
I want to upgrate from my laptop and put an ssd instead of dvd.
So what exactly should I look for?
also, is it better to put a ssd, or change my processor?
    I have the amd a6 - 4400 m with 8 GB of ram.
is it better to put the amd a10 - 4600 m, (I see that it's the best compatible processor).
    Thank you

How to upgrade and what it takes to upgrade depends on what you want to do with your computer. As previously reported by @Blitzgaming, the SSD will best improve the overall computing experience. He will start faster and programs open faster; nothing better than an SSD. Don't resist the SSD. You need a width of 2.5-inch SATA SSD. SATA 2 or 3 makes no difference. You would find a SATA 2 on the market now, just so buy something current and are looking for a good sale. The SSD will operate at optimal speed may allow the motherboard (I'm sure that yours is SATA 3 also) and even on a SATA 2 system, a 3 SATA SSD will work super fast.

    https://www.Amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra-2-5-inch-height-SDSSDHII-240G-G25/DP/B00M8ABEIM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8 & qid = 1466338579 & SR = 8-2 & Keywords = 240 + GIG + SSD

If you can afford it, get at least a gig of 480 or 500 GB SSD, but you can get with a concert of 240. The Sandisk above is a good but then again, if you can afford it, get a Samsung 850 Evo.

Also good as a SSD is, it won't do anything really for the games. Your laptop can be upgraded to the processor, A10 - 4600M in this case is called an APU. The processor chip is also the video card and an upgrade of your A6 to A10 would also mean improved video performance, HD 7520 to 7660. And AMD processors differently than Intels are not terrible expensive.

    https://www.Amazon.com/AMD-A10-4600M-quad-core-2-3GHz-AM4600DEC44HJ/DP/B00D6MZ5P4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8 & qid = 1466338787 & SR = 8-1 & Keywords = A10 - 4600M

You will yet have a 'game', but you will do a bit more fluid gaming experience and better frame rates. I do not recommend upgrades to the processor in general except on the models of the series AMD since you also update the video at the same time.

Always, kind of stop and think about $ 100 or $ 150 for one SSD and $65 for a processor and wonder if that money is better applied to a new laptop? Your call.

  • Pavilion dv6-1255-EA: upgrading ram and HDD to ssd

Hello, my laptop (pavilion dv6 1255-EA portable entertainment I bought 6 years with core 2 due processor, 4 GB ram, 500 GB HDD and AMD catalyst HD 1 GB graphics card) is running a bit slow so I however get a new ssd and / or more than ram would make it faster, I currently have 4 GB of ram and 500 GB hard drive installed in my laptop and I was woundering what are those that I can? Are crucial bullsticks 8 GB of ram and 7 with 9 in ssd adapter compatible? I need an answer as soon as possible because I saw some discounts on these on amazon so that I won't have to wait for black Friday to get them again. And it would also be good if someone also indicates what screwdriver I use.

    Hey @Ajijawi,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I came across your post on the HP Pavilion dv6 - 1255ee Entertainment Notebook and eager to replace the hard drive of 9.5 mm or increase the RAM. Even if it could adapt to the Notebook ok. Queues screws could be different. Here is a link to your service manual page 69 for the hard card. I would really check this before buying new HARD drive. You may need to change so it does not move. The 500 GB SATA 6 GB/s SSD internal SSD 2.5 "would work for this model of laptop including that you have an AMD System.

This laptop supports up to 8 GB memory system DDR2, 800 MHz, PC2-6400, page 1-DIMM 32 of the manual above.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

  • Upgrade SSD on Ultrabook spectrum XT 13210

    Hello

I am very happy with my XT of spectrum 13210 - but the128 GB SSD is almost full, I want to replace it with a 256 GB.

So 2 questions: 1) that I can use the UO mSATA 2.5 "- 840 EVO - SATA III - 250 GB, I have to stick to an older model?" (2) what is the process to clone my 129 existing 8 GB on the new?

    Thanks in advance!

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

    See Page 35.

To clone the concert in car on a 256 128 you must software cloning and a WSSD USB adapter. I just bought one myself so I know they are out there.

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/USB-3-0-mSATA-SSD-adapter-as-USB-disk-driver-/291020566355?PT=US_Drive_Cables_dapters&hash=item43c22d6f53

You will need software such as Acronis True Image Home, making a fully functional trial of 30 days of cloning:

    http://www.Acronis.com/

You can make a bootable usb stick of Acronis to make the cloning operation. Select the option of sizing all partitions will be increased by the same percentage.

Yes the WSSD Samsung 840 will work well for you.

You should maybe disable secure boot and enable the legacy startup to boot from the usb key if you have Windows 8.

  • Upgarding to SSD

    Hello:

I just pirchased Envy Phoenix 810-160 with a 1 HP to HHD, but with two expansion slots for additional disks.  Question: instead of adding a second HHD, can I add an SSD for storage?  Pin connectors stand the SSD as they do the HHD (Barricuda)?  The computer came with a 16 GB SSD for chashing system...

    Thanks for your help,

    Mike in Austin

    Hi Mike,.

Another upgrade? , Life must be good for you!

Yes, you can add a SSD for storage.  Consult this publication information HP.  I recommend at least a 250 GB SATA III model where one day you want to make your boot drive.

One of the questions that you will encounter are identifying all the correct pieces. The SSD adapter is available (he has posted here some place), but I saw no reference to the screws of correct guidance (may not be necessary).

  • Portege R600: "Smeared" Video - intermittent

The R600-S4201 is great. I like the weight more the unique Transflective screen that allows work in the Park. I expanded to 5 GB of RAM, added a high-speed SSD, adapted to the OS (W7) and keep the clean cooling system - anything to keep this beautiful ultrarportable functioning as a machine of the company (no games, videos, etc.). It has been excellent.

    * HOWEVER: * recently, the display shows intermittently a 'stain' of the image. It is unpredictable and not associated with a particular software.

I downloaded and re-installed video driver current, carefully checked the other functions, malware, etc. The problem persists.

What can I do to further diagnose the issue? I would avoid the replacement of the motherboard.

    Thank you!

    NG

    Hello

    > What can I do to further diagnose the issue?
I think that the best way to check what's going wrong with the laptop is the use of the external monitor.
Connect the monitor 2 to the laptop and check if the same smear effect would be visible on the external display.

In which case you will see the same blurry image on the external monitor, the problem could be related to a faulty graphics card, and in this case I n t think you will avoid the replacement of the motherboard.

In the case where the same image would appear properly on the external monitor, the problem could be linked to the internal laptop display. However, in this case, further investigation would be necessary.
