Pavilion dv2700: SSD adapter

Can someone tell me the name of the interface of current hard drive in my laptop?  There is nothing like an SATA interface.

I want to swap the hard drive from the factory with a new SSD SATA but not know how to call and had to buy an adapter that will help in this regard.

Hello:

The drive from your PC is actually a sata drive.

There is an interface to the drive that looks like it's part of the training, but it can be removed to expose the typical sata drive connections as shown below.

I can't tell you, what if an SSD will work in your laptop or not.

If you have an Intel processor and chipset, and install an Intel SSD, it could.

I have a processor Intel 535 120 GB SSD in an old HP nc6400 notebook with the Mobile Intel 945 chipset and it works beautifully.

If your laptop computer has a processor nvidia chipset and amd that an SSD can do not work at all.

I can tell you that if your laptop is a nvidia chipset and amd processor, TRIM SSD support will not be enabled because this controller does not have an advanced host controller interface.

A defragmentation was attempted due to the slowdown operation. But he ran for nearly 18 hours without completing.  Someone, then power off the computer.  For a month or two things seemed normal.  Could not install some windows updates, McAfee Virtual Technician showed a corrupted file to DAT (DATT?) then a few apps installed at the factory would not work, etc. However, a lot of things like email, Adobe Reader and many other programs seems to operate normally.

Backup/restore does not work: Can not repair points create or restore to a previous One

I tried to boot into repair and a corrupt system file could not be repaired.

I decided that the best solution is to try just a full recovery from the recovery on the D drive Partition or attempt a recovery from recovery disks that were created when the computer was first put in place.

I backed up our personal data.

I have a physical drive with two were installed by the factory.

Here are my questions some with comments:

    1. Is it possible that the HARD drive was damaged when the computer is turned off?  I have run CHKDSK on drive C and he found no problem he couldn't fix it. At least I don't think so. So I think that there is probably no damage on the C drive.   These are the characters off results CHKDSK of the event viewer:

Windows has checked the file system and not found any problems.

    231946438 KB total disk space.
    87052228 KB in 227460 files.
    118656 KB in 34777 index.
    0 KB in bad sectors.
373814 KB in use by the system.
4096 KB occupied by the log file.
    144401740 KB available on disk.

4 096 bytes in each allocation unit.
57986609 total allocation on the drive units.
36100435 allocation units available on disk.

    2. is it safe to run CHKDSK on the drive D Partition Recovery?  I do that to look for damage I did in "1" above.

    3. If I try again it would probably be best to use the recovery rather than the Partition disks?  I say this because it seems that the operating system on C files were corrupt and possible, I suppose, that the files on the recovery partition D were as well.

I appreciate any help/advice you can give.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    You are welcome

I'll check the thread later tomorrow so let me know how you go with the recovery.

  • HP Pavilion dv2700 laptop displays the message "system CMOS checksum failed" every time you start

    Hi @all,

I have a HP Pavilion dv2700 - kh933ea laptop computer #abv (it is a HP Pavilion dv2799ee Special Edition Entertainment Notebook PC to be exact) that displays the message "system CMOS checksum failed. Press F1 to continue"every time you start the system. My OS is Windows 7 / 32 bit.

Then I updated my BIOS to version 2.4e, 01-dec-08 Phoenix (the SMBIOS version remained the same before 2.4), but the issue is not resolved. I have attached a screenshot for processor and BIOS versions.

Can someone guide me on how to solve this problem?

Thank you very much in advance.

I don't see the screenshot of your post attachments. Please repost them.

This error message means that WHAT BIOS is damaged. You will need to have the BIOS flashed in a mobile shop, repair a BIOS or an HP Service Center. Do a search online with Google or Bing repair for a BIOS.  If you keep trying to update the BIOS there will come a time where everything you have a black screen.

    Hi, Jeff:

Unfortunately, HP does not sell the most.  You can confirm that if you want by calling 1-(800)-474-6836.

You can still get a set of recovery of this provider disks not HP.

  • Can I have the NVidia GeForce 8400gs card replaced in my Pavilion dv2700?

    1 HP Pavilion DV2700

    2 Windows Vista 32-bit

    3. different messages which basically stated that the graphics driver (NVidia GeForce 8400 M GS) does not work correctly. Black screen, blue screen with crash dump, restarts spasmodically.

    4. no changes to the system in addition to regular Windows updates.

    5. Since the problem I updated the BIOS to the most recent and tried the NVidia HP driver, as well as from NVidia. Each driver carried out the same way. Currently have installed the version of HP.

    Hello

It is not really practical to replace the graphics card because although it's called a 'map', it is actually physically soldered to the motherboard in the same way as a chip.

You may want one of the possibilities is to have the cards to the motherboard connection, converted using a service like the one on the link below.

  • HP Pavilion dv2700 problem

    Hello

    I have a laptop: HP Pavilion dv2700.
I did format and installed windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on it. But there is a problem: the HP official site is not drivers for windows 7 for this laptop. I already found the audio and others around the internet... but it still lacks the following:

-Video/graphics driver (I don't know the model at all, and I don't know where to see it, but I know it's nvidia)
Co-Processator (I don't know what is this lol)

Please, if anyone of you knows how to download these two pilots missing, post the link.

    Thank you!

Look in part 2 of the Guide HERE (coprocessor is the Nvidia Chipset)

    Hello

The reader at the link below would be perfect for your laptop - it's the largest capacity disk HARD that I know will work in your laptop...

    Hard drive 320 GB

The procedure to replace the hard drive is detailed from Page 61 of your & Maintenance Guide.

Regarding your motherboard specifications, try to install an application like PC Wizard

  • SSD adapter Kit

Looking for one ssd for HP Pavilion model HPE H8 1320 T adapter kit.  Any Suggestions?

You can get something like this

    http://www.Amazon.com/Silverstone-Tek-3-5-inch-converter-SDP08/DP/B002BH3Z8E/ref=sr_1_7?s=PC&ie=UTF8&QID=1412099486&SR=1-7&k eywords = 2.5 + to + 3.5 + tray

There are many others, I just took that as a result of a search on amazon for "tray from 2.5 to 3.5"

Newegg also has a lot of success on this same search.  Choose one that looks like smoothly with your existing platters of the drive Bay.

I made myself not too long ago, but I have mine picked up at the brick and mortar computer specialty store pay about $10.00.  In line would have been cheaper, but I was there, he had, and he didn't wait.

  • HP Pavilion dv6: SSD upgrade

I have HP Pavilion dv6t-6100 select edition with the configuration below. I would like to know if 512 GB or 1 TB SATA III SSD can be adapted to this configuration. I know that I can't get the full speed since the current interface is SATA II. I don't want to spend money and disappointed if the SSD does not work.

Processor: Intel Core i5 2410 M to 2.30 GHz Sandy Bridge 32nm technology

Current size of HDD: 750 GB SATA II

Model: HP Pavilion dv6t-6100 select edition

HP says it accepts only 160GB if it is an Intel processor Guide. Could someone confirm if this is still true?

"Disk SSD 160 GB (for use only with models of computer with an Intel processor)"

    Thanks in advance.

The User Guide does state that optional configurations available factory... not material limitations. You can install a 2.5 inch SATA SSD up to 1 TB without problem. The only model who has had several reports of problem is the MX100 Crucial. series. I recommend the Samsung 840 Evo or the more recent Samsung 850. The distinction of SATA II/III is not a big deal. The SSD will be always fast like a frightened deer.

  • 2015 MacBook Air SSD adapter

I'm working on an Air of MacBook 2015 for a customer.  The user spilled liquid on the keyboard, and now it does not start.  They took for a genius, whose repair estimate was high enough that they decided to buy a new MBP instead.  I restored their data from a backup and they are in good shape now, but now I want to wipe SSD of the MBA to keep their personal data to end up in the wrong hands.  Two days later and I still can't find an adapter that will allow me to access the drive on another Mac (I don't have an another MBA from 2015 to use).  Any of you know where I can find an adapter to do so, in order to connect to it and wipe it off?  Here are the specs:

    MacBook Air Core i5 - early 2015

    Model #: A1466 (EMC 2925)

    256 GB SSD (Samsung model #: MZ-JPV256R/0 has 2)

The SSD has a 16 + configuration 12 pins on one side and a configuration pins 11 + 14 on the other.

    Link for reference: http://www.memory4less.com/samsung-ssd-mz-jpv256r-0a2

I know Macs is very much a moving target because they always change their configurations, but this model came out a few years, and I'm a little surprised that I can't find any SATA or USB adapter for it.  Any ideas how I can erase the disc without physically assault would be greatly appreciated.

OWC can have a speaker or you can find them on Amazon. Depends on what the SSD card is exactly in the computer. Some Apple computers do not use the standard pinout that Samsung and other manufacturers use to commercial cards, instead they use those who are owners. However, if the card has been damaged then it will be useless.

Standard PCIe SSD cards have only a pinout on the map, not two, as you can see in the link you provided.

  • Pavilion G6: Wifi adapter upgrade Windows 10 questions

I tried seriously to all solutions possible and still nothing.  Not only the solution that has been proposed to this topic on the forum like many others in other Web sites, as in the windows and mediatek/ralink and same forum forum on youtube and still nothing, I can't really solve this problem and I'm trying to ruin out of range of patience...

I'll probably go back to 8.1 Windows because all solutions have failed...

If someone knows a solution diferent/news please reply!

My PC is a HP Pavilion G6

My Wi - Fi adapter is a Ralink RT3290 802, and pilots are already updated.

    Kind regards.

    Hello:

Since I know not what you have tried, or one of the hundreds of books of g6 model you have (if they extend over several years), the only suggestion I can offer would be to try the W10 Ralink WLAN driver.

    OPERATING SYSTEM (S):
    Microsoft Windows 10 32
    Microsoft Windows 10 64

    LANGUAGE (S): Global

    SUPPORTED DEVICES:
802.11n wireless PCI Express Card LAN Adapter
    MediaTek MT7630E 802.11bgn Wi - Fi adapter
    RALink RT3090 WiFi 802.11b/g/n adapt
    Wi - Fi 802.11b/g/n Ralink RT3290 adapter
    WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n Ralink RT3592 adapter
    RALink WiFi 802.11b/g/n RT5390 adapt
    RALink WiFi 802.11b/g/n RT5390R adapt

    CORRECTIONS:
-Provides the initial version of Windows 10 support WHQL driver.

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp71501-72000/sp71571.exe

If the driver above does not work, the most likely problem is the hardware revision RT3090 of the card you have is probably too old to run W10.

Only the last model rt3090 made in the last two years will take place W10.

The Samsung 840 Evo 2.5 "disk is the same size as the standard laptop hard drive. As long buy you an SSD 2.5 "you will not have spacers to fit your laptop.
