Travel 7 Windows PC refurbished to another computer

Short version of the question:

Windows 7 Home Premium for refurbished PCs move to another computer?

Long version of the question:

Our family has two PC:

  1. I have a PC with Windows 7 Home Premium for refurbished PC installed, HP with a refurbished permit sticker (and real DVD) and also the Vista original license sticker
  2. My in-laws retirees (we live in the same House) have a Dell PC with Windows XP Professional installed.

Recently I bought Windows 8 to install on our computer (have not installed yet).  As for my in-laws, as Windows XP is going to "die" soon I would like to give them my Windows 7 license, since I'll use it is no longer, as I will install Windows 8 on my computer.  Their PC is still fairly recent, recent enough to accept Windows 7.  They are also retired and cannot afford a new computer or spend $ 200 for a license of Windows 7.

Can I use my Windows PC refurbished 7 to install Windows 7 Home Premium on their computer?

Hi Mario,.

Since you have already installed Windows 7 on a computer by using the PC refurbished license, trying to install in another computer using the same license would be a violation of the terms of the licenses. However, if you install Windows 8 in this Windows 7 computer, and then use the license of Windows 7 in another computer, is not a violation of the terms of the licenses. You can call up to 1-800-642-7676 (Microsoft Customer Central) for more information on licensing issues.

It is possible that you have corrupted cache files; You can try to delete the cache folder and check if that helps. You can also temporarily disable your firewall and check if all of the parameters of the firewall is a cause. Better support for the effort, I'd say uninstall you the current Windows live Messenger and install the latest version (http://download.live.com/messenger)

  • Activate a GENUINE windows XP installed on another computer

    Hello

My father has recently upgraded to a laptop with Windows 7, but misses his old games which are not compatible. I have rebuilt successfully his old vista laptop on Windows XP (better compatibility) but it requires activation and the code I have does not work.

It has the Windows XP as it came with a laptop even earlier, but I think that automation can detect, it has been used on the computer as soon as possible.

Any of you know how I do it to get Microsoft to recognize that it is is no longer using the old laptop and wants to instead use Windows XP on this newer model?

He holds the license for the software as surely he has the right to install (only) on any machine as he wants?

The laptop that I installed XP is a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo LI 1718.
The version of Windows XP, there is no service pack (it is so old!) but I have installed all updates until and including SP3.

If you need any other information to answer let me know, I can provide a report dxdiag etc.

Thanks to all who can help out me!

If Windows XP product key is an OEM version, then it will activate not on another computer.

  • OEM Windows 7 installation on another computer after the first dead

I recently bought a laptop computer without an operating system, and the seller I sold separately an OEM Windows 7 Professional version. I installed and activated this version of Windows. I must return this laptop because I was not satisfied with it. The seller will refund me the price of the laptop, but not Windows. Can I use this version of Windows, or do I have to just eat the cost?

OEM cannot be moved to a new computer. You will need to buy another copy to install Windows on another computer.

Can move you to a new Windows 7 computer

If it's a full license or upgrade retail - Yes. You can move it to another computer as long as it is installed on a single computer at a time (and if it's a Windows 7 Upgrade version the new computer must have its own XP/Vista license qualification). The previous installation of Windows 7 on the old computer must be formatted or deleted. You will have to perhaps call Microsoft and explain what happened to complete activation. Turning it on the second computer will automatically be in effect 'disable' the license for the first computer. The key works with 32 and 64 bit, but can only be installed at a time.

If it's an OEM license - don't. OEM licenses, including Windows preinstalled on a computer before purchase and Windows purchased separately, are related to the first computer, they are installed on and cannot be transferred to another computer. To install Windows on another computer, you will need to buy another copy.

  • You can transfer the Pack Windows Media Center on another computer Windows 8 Pro?

When Media Center Pack goes free for win8 Pro, I submit one.

When I update with the key Media Center Pack, I see the LICENSE AGREEMENT on the terms of transfer software.
    I have a question:
It is said bind Media Center Pack to your computer for activation, this means that you can not transfer a Media Center Pack to another computer, but dose the win8 pro which update this Media Center Pack also link to this computer?
Or just the Media Center Pack has been linked to, the win8 pro which update this Media Center Pack can be transferred to another computer?
Can someone give me an official response?

If you remove the installation of Windows 8 Pro of the current computer, then activate it on another computer, you can then move the Media Center license on another computer. Media Center license is dependent on installation of Windows 8 Pro enabled. He could never be associated with the computer because it requires an operating system.

No is the answer to your questiion

A SINGLE license of windows operating system = the ONE installation of windows operating

and recovery disks are related to the original machine that they are installed on

If you want to windows 7 on the vista machine consider purchasing a license to upgrade to windows 7

  • How can I move mail and contacts from Outlook Express on a computer that is running XP Pro to Windows Live Mail on another computer in Windows 7?

Can someone please provide a solution step by step? Most of the messages and the links here seems to apply to a different situation, as OE6 and WLM residing on the SAME computer, or under the SAME operating system. Not so in my case.

I see that Windows Live Mail is supposed to be able to import contacts and emails OE6. But where am I supposed to put old OE6 files on the computer so that Windows Live Mail can find them? OE6 only let me "export" to Outlook or Microsoft Exchange, nor of what exists on my old computer, nor my other!

Transfer of data from Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail:

    For messages:

Copy the * ENTIRE * OE message store folder to a flash drive. (Folders.dbx must be included). Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail. Open WLMail and: file | Import | Messages | Microsoft Outlook Express 6, and the point where it was saved.

    Location of OE message store:

In OE: Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

    For addresses:

Open the address book in OE and file | Export | Address book (wab) and save it to the desktop. Copy it to a flash drive. Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail.

Open the Contacts list in WLMail, (go |) Contacts in the Menu bar) and the file | Import | Address book (wab) Windows and the point where you saved it.

Note: If you use a CD or a DVD instead of a flash drive, after placing on the new machine you must remove the read-only attribute in the properties before you import.

    Hello

If you use Norton, AVG, Avira, Microsoft Security Essentials, McAfee, etc. the default action is for Windows Defender must be disabled, that these AntiVirus programs have their own Antispyware Applications.

    There is nothing to worry.

Using both programs at the same time can cause system conflicts, etc.
