Help! cursor guard back mid sentence. need to keep the control she repeatedly jumped, driving me crazy. also page pulls up when I press the SPACEBAR smetimes. My travelmate is a laptop. I'm doing something wrong? Be grateful for all the answers. Thank you

Hi, I solved the problem of words jumping on when I type.

I found the answer on the site is difficult.

On the second row of keys, you should find a key that says mine Fn is blue in color. It should be next to the Ctrl key pressed.

The function keys F1 F2 etc. are very over the row.

If you press the Fn key and F7 key and hold a few seconds, this should clear the pointer or the I symbol that appears in the test region when you type.

When you want to move the pointer, or I have symbol once again, just to quell the Fn key and the F7 key, and your pointer or I'll come again.

  • downgrade from vista to xp pro installed factory

I have my acer travelmate 5720 laptop before semi-bas sisters had vista (not sure which version) as a pre installed... She wanted to xp pro... they downgraded it via three cd discs... the laptop was bought from pc world... She let go of his daughter on this subject and he got a massive amount of virus on this subject in the course of a year... I ran malware anti-malware and mcafee to clean but it froze dead. My sister had the understanding that she was in possession of the xp os disk pro as part of the three-disc set that provided her with the new laptop... She had never backed up his sys disk and relied on the fact of his duty of these discs unless something was wrong , she could just re - install xp pro of the said records... There were three partitions on his laptop computer on this disc... some had the remnants of his old vista to factory (I think) within IT... the second was here personal backup space and then finally the live Webcam c: windows partition... a label key of vista on the underside of your laptop without label of xp key only the key of vista... Despite many attempts to re - install disks said the bone was never given on... windows installed but there is no os... in a last ditch attempt to recover the laptop, she bought an XP pro disk from e - bay with its license tag... before I install this to his laptop is it possible to use the old key of vista with the new windows xp disk to return and use the license key of the part bottom of the laptop computer and save the new software and key to another pc? .. .i have read some threads on decommissioning, but it does not explain how 'reuse' an old but valid license key on the original... She bought the license for software/computer laptop / touch so its hers to use probably still, or do we install this new copy of xp, even if it means that this laptop would have actually two xp pro key and a vista key assigned?

Please can someone enlighten us on this thorny and confusing subject :)

Thanks for your time, he seems to have found a result... as this was a company pc world pre installation of vista and then brought back to xp pro, it seems that the hidden restore partition was a vestige of vista, can't be totally sure as that, but I re - partition the drive as a single drive, not as three discs rather small and then tried three discs provided to my sister with the installation she bought. I have the plonked in the drive after and all is well. I know I lost the recovery option, but with the disks now works very well, I don't seem to need the additional hidden partitions. could something in hidden files have jumped to the top of the first re-setup, I tried when the laptop was the recovery partitions? ... still am, typing this answer you on him and all seems well, still a little confused on the subject of how a system downgraded keeps the files for a more early system (vista) installed not those of a downgrade from xp pro? I only wish that I had taken a shot before I ever had a chance to examine hidden :(files

Once again, thank you, I'll have to look at the discs that I've been able to burn images of fron in the hidden partition and keep you updated on what they were if all goes well.

  • Need help to replace my DVD burner in the Acer laptop

    Hello

I have a laptop Acer (TravelMate 5720) running in very good condition I bought about 7 years back!

However, the motor in the DVD player does not now - he is gone and must be replaced by a new DVD burner.

When I checked on eBay to buy a new DVD burner for this model, there are 2 types sold either IDE (PATA) and SATA DVD burners. I don't know which of those above my laptop supports.

I checked the properties of the CD drive in my computer and it says "hl-dt-st dvdram gsa-t40n ata device.

How will I know which of the 2 above that you buy... ??

Kindly help me. Let me know in case additional specifications are necessary on this you.

    -Mr. Abed

You must remove the unit from your laptop. You will immediately see if it has an IDE or a SATA connector. See Wikipedia so not sure what these connectors look like.

  • There are new drivers for Bluetooth for my Travelmate 5730 G use 10 64-bit Windows

I've upgraded to 64-bit Windows of 10 some time ago, but have just realized that I don't have the Bluetooth functionality that I had previously with Windows 7 Professional.  Are there new drivers I need to load?   Windows 10 does not give me an option under "Devices" to activate Bluetooth.

Acer is not any support for Windows 8, 8.1, or 10 for the Travelmate 5730 G.

You will need to find the drivers in Google.

If you have too many problems, you can restore in Win 7.

  • Acer Travelmate 7750 G freezes completely using Windows or Linux (dual boot). Need help please.

The problem is that the machine freezes completely without apparent reason, on all operating systems, I tried.  "Freezes", I mean there is no reaction to the mouse movements, keyboard presses and start button / stop pressed off the coast.  The gel seems to be at a random time and may occur even when the system is idle.

The Acer Travelmate 7750 G laptop came pre-installed with Windows 7 and it kept freezing.  The machine has been updated level of Windows 8, 8.1, 10, then dual boot with Linux Mint 17.3.  The machine froze on all operating systems.  I have tested software hard drive, memory, CPU, GPU and they all managed very well.  Is it someone who has knowledge about how to resolve or others troubleshoot this please?

RESOLVED - I installed a HDD replacement in December 2015 and the laptop Travelmate 7750 G works perfectly since.  Cost me almost nothing compared to the price of the laptop.  No freezing, crashing or anything else!

Thank you very much for your help.

  • TravelMate 5742G: restarts continuously

    Hello

Perhaps the bios update may solve the problem? Is - this safed?

    Another question:

How to upgrade to win 7 32 bit to 64 bit? Windows service with my key is not possible to download update. They sayd me that windows on my laptop is the Acer version and that you can help me. I have version checkd CPU and it supports 64-bit.

Thanks in advance for any response

    Nicola

An update of the bios might help. The BIOS updates are always risky. If something goes wrong, you have a portable brick. However, updates of the bios are displayed to make things that are false.

Download the Bios file more recent (if there is more than one, the most recent contains everything in other countries) and extract it to a new folder on your desktop. Make sure you are connected and the battery is charged.

Open the folder, double-click the Bios file and do nothing unless indicated.

BEFARe you do this, open an administrator command prompt, and then type sfc/scannow

Let it run and see if it finds anything. When it's done, type chkdsk/f

It will say you need to restart say Yes.

Hi newbie here so please be gentle!
I have an Acer Travelmate P256 M purchased recently for music production and want to increase the RAM of 4 GB to 8 GB. I bought the relevant stick of RAM, but when I came to install it, I realized there was no obvious hatch on the base of the laptop to access the RAM slots. • upgrade 10 years my laptop travelmate

I have an Acer Travelmate 4502WLMi that I bought almost 10 years ago. I used it almost every day and it has never let me down, even the battery is still ok.

Unfortunately, Microsoft gave up Windows XP and I need to use another operating system.

Windows 7 and Linux Ubuntu 14 Debian wheezy won't work on this old Pentium M 725 processor. I hate to throw things, if they work, I would like to repair or recycle things, so my question is this: is there a processor more recent I can go to? Is this compatible with the motherboard and BIOS?

I already spent several hours trying to answer these questions, but without success. Any suggestions? (outside 'kill the dinosaur').

    Intel Pentium M 725 (Dothan?) 1.6ghz

    Windows XP pro

The best upgrade for the Pentium M 725 is a Pentium M 755 @ 2 GHz. He has a 100% working chance. It is not more modern, just faster. You'd have the same problems of installation of Windows 7.

  • Linux Travelmate B113

I just bought a Travelmate B113-E with Windows 8. I am trying to install Linux. I was able to boot to a USB key by choosing to do it from inside Windows and I was able to resize the partition and install Linux Mint. But I don't get a boot manager during startup, instead I start directly on Windows 8. What should I do?

This is typical. After a couple of hours trying to install and start, I finally managed to get into the BIOS where I could choose to boot Linux Mint (Ubuntu). The first, as many times I chose to restart and then pressing F2, nothing happened and I ended up in Windows 8. This time, I chose to turn off the computer and turn it on then all by pressing F2, and now I could get into the BIOS.

Anyone who is considering buying this computer, be prepared that it is extremely slow with Windows 8. Much slower than my 4 years based on the Atom Samsung NC 10 with Windows XP. I hope that the Travelmate is less slow with Linux, looks better so far.
