  • When trying to update, I get a message that says I don't have the required system permissions & contact system administrator. It's my computer and I'm the only person who uses it. Help, please. I use mac osx 10.4.11 thanks for answer, michael

Hi, I have all the software installed on this computer and have even updated before firefox. now, by clicking on the tab "check for updates" I get the above message. Since it is my computer I guess I am the administrator and I had no difficulties to install the software before. What could happen? appreciate any help on this. Thanks, michael

If he has problems with the update or the permissions then simpler is to download the full version and trash the version currently installed to do a clean install of the new version.

Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the file on the desktop disk image (dmg)

    • Trash the present application Firefox to do a clean (re-) install
    • Install the new version you downloaded

Your profile data is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you will not lose your bookmarks and other personal data if you uninstall and (re) install Firefox.

  • When trying to update, I get an error on another application.

I get the error that I need to close the following applications to continue: ShellExtLoader. The problem is that I do not have this file on my computer. I am running a Maverick on a Mac.

I did it more than once. Finally, I spoke with someone and technical support, must go to the activity monitor, find the process and leave there from there. That's not enough, and then it finally proved that I had SugarSync running. I had to leave SugarSync and then was finally able to complete the updates.

  • When you try to update, I get error 80073712.

    code80073712

I tried an update, but get message 80073712

    Hello

    This is the information from Microsoft for your error Code;

"Error code 0 x 80073712 occurs in Windows Update or Microsoft Update.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/957310

To resolve this problem, use one of the following methods. For these methods to work, you must be connected to your computer as an administrator. Or, you must be able to provide a user account name and the password for an account that has administrative permissions. If you use your computer at home, you can already logged on as administrator.

For more information on how to log on as an administrator, see the article following Windows Help & how-to: How can I connect administrator? (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/How-do-I-log-on-as-an-administrator)

Method 1: Run (Checksur.exe) system update readiness tool
    1. Download and run the system update readiness tool. This tool runs a punctual analysis of the inconsistencies that can prevent future problems with installing updates or service packs. To download and run (Checksur.exe) system update readiness tool, visit the what is the analysis of system update tool? (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/What-is-the-System-Update-Readiness-Tool)
    2. Install the updates again.

If you can't always install updates or activate Windows features, go to method 2.

Method 2: Install the latest service pack for your version of Windows.

If you have not installed the latest service pack for your version of Windows, visit the Service Pack to download and install it.

    1. Click on the following link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/service-packs (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/service-packs)
    2. Click on the download link of service pack for your version of Windows.
    3. Follow the instructions to download and install the latest service pack.
    4. Restart your computer.
    5. Try again to install updates.

If you can't always install updates or activate Windows features, go to method 3.

Method 3: Run the tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker with the command sfc/scannow.

To run the System File Checker, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, type cmd in the Search (Windows Vista) box or the box of files and programs (Windows 7), and then press ENTER.
    2. Right click on cmd.exe, and then click run as administrator. Click continue if you are the administrator or type the administrator password, and then click continue.
    3. In the command window, type Sfc/scannow, and then press enter. Note that there is a space before the slash in this command.

The analysis may take some time, so be patient. Windows allows to fix corrupt or missing files it finds. If the information from the installation DVD is needed to fix the problem, you may be asked to insert your Windows Vista or Windows 7 DVD.

Once the scan is complete, try again to install updates. If you can't always install updates or activate Windows features, go to method 4.

Method 4: Perform an upgrade on the spot.

    See you soon.

  • Trying to update Photoshop CC to 2015.1.1 and to u44m2p34.

I'm a u44m2p34. I found another link of forum (cannot install updates of Creative Cloud) that had several options. I tried all, including the Adobe PCD, backup and CAPS files rename them. I tried this and get a U44M2P28. I tried to uninstall Photoshop and Lightroom that are the only ones I installed. I then ran the Adobe CC cleaner. I reinstalled Abobe cloud app and then Photoshop. I tried to update and getting the same exact error. I have 64-bit Windows 8.1. I saw where several users have tried the same thing without success. I need a fix as soon as possible and I don't want to spend 6 hours on the phone as the other horror stories I've read. I am a computer scientist used to work with suppliers and the software that buy us at home. This is unacceptable. I need a fix.

Apparently, Adobe has included was last updated in the global download if you through the CC app. So I uninstalled Photoshop new and updated through computer application says now its 2015.1.1 without having to launch the update patch...

I wonder if it's going to happen on the next update. No doubt.

  • I tried to update iTunes on Windows 10, now, I get the error "there is a problem with this Windows Installer Package".

    Hello

I tried to update iTunes on Windows 10 and now I get the message error "there is a problem with this Windows Installer Package".
I tried to fix it too, but it has not helped, so I uninstalled and tried to reinstall but there has not helped either. I tried almost everything I've seen in other posts.
I use a laptop Asus series k55VJ with an original copy of Windows and has never had this problem before.

Any of you have an idea what can do?
    Thank you!

Try to repair the Apple Software Update of the programs and features Control Panel, then uninstall it and then reinstall iTunes.

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.

More information area has direct links with the current and recent buildings if you have problems to download, must revert to an older version or want to try the version of iTunes for Windows (64-bit-for old video cards) as a workaround for problems with installation or operation, or compatibility with QuickTime software or a third party.

Backups of your library and device should be affected by these measures but there are links to backup and recovery advice there.

You must download and install Windows XP Service Pack 2 (if not already installed) followed in Windows XP Service Pack 3.  You will find two of them at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads - download the "Network Installation Package" for the two and ignore the part about them being only for the professionals - the parcel I recommend you download will install with or without network connection.
