try to board post dimension e520

I recently received a free office and trying to figure if it still works. As the title says, I try to view the machine out of the motherboard (wg864) that was missing its front Board of media that contains the power button.  As I have already done research, I met the 38/40 connector is the common way to publish, however I can't come across a paper diagnostic to know what pins to jump. If anyone can give me a picture or tell me the pins would be great.

You need the MH380 Dell Dimension E520 E521 full 5200 before i/o Panel-MH380 and the ribbon cable to go with it.
The documentation and you are looking for support for is not available.

You can get a whole system working for the cost of windows.

When you installed Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit) have you installed the utility of desktop / laptop and drivers from the chipset first? If this is not the case, the rest of the drivers will not install. • Dimension E520 PCI Express x 16

    Hello

I try to install a network card Ethernet HPE 1 GB 4 ports 331T, PCI Express x 4 in the PCI Express x 16 slot of my Dell Dimension E520.

According to the documentation for the network card, it should be compatible with a 16 slot x ("four-lane (x 4) PCI Express compatible with x 4, x 8, and x 16 PCI Express slots").

There is an error when the computer is on: LED 1 and 3 are lighten, which means that there is a problem with the RAM installed. However, the computer works well when the PCI network card is removed.

Latest available BIOS is installed. Also tried to disable the NIC card, without success.

This PCI card is really compatible?

    Thanks for your help.

Where is installed your plug-in software component video card or do you use onboard video?

It seems that you have only one PCI-e x 16 slot in this model and it is probably reserved for a video card. BIOS can research (and not finding) RAM that normally would be on a video card.

The only other PCI-e slot is x 1 so that network card probably won't in this niche.

  • Dimension E520 - button Dell speakers volume control problems

I have a Dell Dimension E520 with XP. The speakers supplied with desktop has a control volume on one of the speakers and I used to be able to adjust the volume with the key, but lately, it does not work. I can't that turn on or turn off with the button on the slide, but impossible to adjust the volume. I have to use one of the volume control of windows to do this, and it's very annoying. Anyone has any ideas. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Mr. PL.

It is a mechanical problem with the speaker volume button. This has nothing to do with your computer or any software. The volume control button can not be replaced. You can consider buying a new set of speakers for yourself.

Answer please if you have any questions.

  • Update the motherboard on a Dell Dimension E520

    Hello

I have a Dell Dimension E520 with an Intel Celeron 2 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB HDD, Windows Vista 32 - Bit for about a year now and the speed of the processor. But with 1 core is not enough. I opened the case and found that the CPU is soldered in to the motherboard and what it is not replaceable, so I replace the motherboard with one that comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHZ. My question is what can I replace the motherboard on it and what kind of specifications of the motherboard will work with Dell Dimension E520.

    Thank you

  • Dell dimension e520 Motherboard upgrade

Hi, I have a Dell Dimension E520 and I was wondering if it takes care of all new mothers of dell. Thanks for your help.

    hunterp15

There is no motherboards, other than a Dell e520 OEM motherboard that will fit the owner e520 EOL BTX chassis, or y at - it available BTX retail motherboards.

The Dimension e520 is the latest model of this series, Dell made.

Only 65 processors with 800 or 1066fsb will work with the E-520.

The Q6700 should work, but before installing the processor, make sure you have BIOS version 2.2.1 [or more] installed, when additional CPU support has been added.

  • With a card of 512 MB of memory of a dimension E520 in dimension 2350

I replaced the 512 MB memory card in my Dimension E520 and want to know if I can use this card to add 512 MB memory in my Dimension 2350?

    The E520 has a Pentium D CPU 3 .0GHz and 2350 is a Pentium 4 CPU 2 GHz.

    MarkWGF27

This will not work because the two systems are not compatible, the e520 has DDR2 RAM and 2350 supports DDR memory, in fact, DDR2 modules cannot be installed in the slots of the DDR.

  • Video card in Dell Dimension E520

Can I put a GeForce 9800 GT 1 GB hybrid on a Dell Dimension E520? I just bought a 500 watt PSU, so I'm sure that I have enough power, but I'm not sure if it will run on an E520. I don't know if it will take place just because I don't know what is hybrid. But I read that the PCI Express 2.0 x 16 will work on motherboards with just the PCI Express x 16.

    I currently have a GeForce 8600 GT 512 MB.

  • Anyone using DDR2 - 800 MHz PC2 - 6400 RAM on a Dimension E520?

    I have a 8-y-o Dimension E520 with a CPU Q6600 and 4 GB of RAM PC2-5300 DDR2 - 667 MHz.

Max RAM is 8 GB so I did research what type of RAM would maximize the expected gain in speed.

According to this articleand this one as this thread of Dell, the E520 can accept RAM PC2-6400 DDR2 - 800 MHz.

In addition, in accordance with this sheet of Intel chipset 965 on the motherboard will have DDR2-800 MHz RAM.

I have noticed however that a sweep Crucial suggested DDR2-667 PC2-5300, like upgrading RAM later.

By no means discouraged, I advanced and bought 4 sticks of 2 GB of RAM DDR2-800 PC2-6400 Non ECC Unbuffered of 240 pins.

Then, installed the new RAM and started in the BIOS. Of course, the 8 GB of RAM is recognized.

Then started to Ubuntu. However, the initialization has failed before he arrived at the office.

Then started to Windows 7 (on the same machine, multiboot). Yet once again, began to start Desktop but bluescreened before that he (0 x 00000019 which seems to refer to the memory problem)

Reinstall all the RAM sticks and tried again with the same result.

Replaced the 4 GB of RAM has low gear and everything was fine.

So, is the RAM purchased dubious quality or not my E520 simply not accept RAM DDR2 - 800 MHz?

In the interest of anyone else might have the same problem or similar, I put the 4 sticks of RAM to the reseller and received four sticks of replacements of the same specification.

And they work perfectly in my Dimension E520.

Thus, in response to my original question, the absence of start-up stems from a faulty RAM.
