Try to connect the bluetooth headset

I have a hp pavilion p7-1257 c and im wondering is it possible to use bluetooth on this computer by simple update of drivers or do I have to buy an adapter

Hi Con87,

I can't find any reference to bluetooth on your PC as an option. Please see here and here.

You may need to buy an adapter.

When I matched the device with the Microsoft Bluetooth driver has been installed, the service of the helmet was not available and troubleshoot message recommended that I upgrade to the Broadcom Widcomm driver. I followed all the instructions, downloaded the latest Widcomm driver and installed. Then I restarted the computer. I could see the Bluetooth icon in the taskbar, but it was red and not white (or blue). When I clicked it, it just says adapter lights up, I did. As soon as I hit this button, the bluetooth icon disappears and no bluetooth connection is possible. Thanks for the advice, but I came to the conclusion that Windows 7 does not support the advanced features of this particular Logitech Bluetooth adapter. Windows XP takes to load them entirely, but for some reason any Windows 7 isn't. From Logitech Web site States expressly that the Bluetooth adapter supplied with my keyboard and mouse will not support anything other than a mouse and a keyboard, which is unfortunate. I don't know why, but there you have it. I'm giving up now.

    Hello

I use a computer windows 7 dell laptop and having succumbed to my last 10 attempts to connect my sony with her bluetooth headset. Also, I went through all the links of responses provided by the site. I also downloaded the software device for her drive. The laptop also shows my SonyBTH under "Devices and Printers". Anyone?

    Thank you

    Afonso Rajalim

    Hi Afonso,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    I understand that you are unable to connect SonyBTH to the Windows 7 machine and I appreciate the efforts made in the patches that you tried. Let me ask you;

    • Have you been able to connect to the same SonyBTH in the past?
    • Remember to no particular change in the computer before the show?
    • What security software is installed on the computer?
    • What is the model number of your Dell computer?

There could be several reasons for this cause and diagnose the problem, we will try these steps and check.

Step 1: Make sure that Windows is configured to accept incoming Bluetooth connections.

You can check the compatible devices Bluetooth configuration panel. Here's how:

    1. Click the Start button, select Control Panel, click hardware and sound, and then click Bluetooth devices.
    2. Click the Options tab, select the allow the devices to connect to this computer check box, and then click OK.

Step 2: Remove and then reinstall the device:

    1. click the Start button, select Control Panel, click hardware and soundand then click Bluetooth devices.

2 Select the device that is not working, and then click Remove.

    3. click on Add, press the reset button on the unit (or make it discoverable following the manufacturer's instructions), check the box my device is set up and ready to be found and then click Next.

    4. If the device is not found, repeat the previous step. When the device is found, select it, and then click Next.

    5. follow the remaining instructions in the wizard.

    · Make sure that the device is on and that the batteries should be replaced.

    · Make sure that the Bluetooth adapter for your computer is attached and turned on, and that the device is in use and detectable. If you don't know how to turn on discoverability, read the instructions provided with the device or check the manufacturer's Web site.
