Try to install 4 ' important'updates on Windows Vista and get error codes: 80070641.
Try to install 4 ' important'updates on Windows Vista and get error codes: 80070641, who has had a lot of answers posted but none does not seem to work and I tried to install this upgrade for the last 6 months! (I did one where you made sure something is running in the Control Panel, but it works just not - I HATE Vista!)
Now just got a new error code: 6 to 8.
The updates, I can't update (!) are:
- SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Service Pack 4
- Update of security for MSOffice 2007 System
- Update for MS 2007 Office system
- Update for MSOffice Outlook 2007 Junk email filter
Unfortunately I'm not technically proficient at all and do not understand the jargon I've read on this site so if anyone has an answer, please could you write it as if you were talking to your grandma who only discovered what a mouse! ;-)
Thanks in advance
Sharon

Try to install autocad architecture 2012and get 1603 error log.
I have Vista 64-bit with Service pack two. I'm having a problem when trying to install autocad architecture 2012. The installation will fail and the error log indicates Visual C++ 2008 has begun and then abandoned... error 1603. My continuous automatic Windows Update Service update two pack 1 updates and when I check the history they have been successfully updated each time. I feel that I need an update for Visual C++ 2008 and service pack update is noted as successful. I uninstalled all such files as suggested by autodesk and autodesk products. Then redownloaded and tried to install. Failed every time. A friend had the same problems and after Vista update, hers is a 32-bit system... She redown loaded Autocad and installed. Are there updates for service pack 2 because I noticed are updated to service Pack 1. This program is my lively hood! I tried to install 2011 also failed. The 2009 version worked fine, but I uninstalled it he's trying to upgrade. My system is too qualified to manage the program. Thanks Cat

Hi jamesgillwn,
1. when exactly you get this error message?
2. what disc do you use to reinstall?
3. What is the exact error that appears when you try to start?
4. at what point of the installation you get the error message? After researching the error 0x8007000D code is essentially due to file corruption and a problem with the drive itself.
First check if you have scratches or dust on the disc and clean the surface and try again.
To check if the disk is wrong, you will need to copy the contents of the DVD to the hard drive and try to install using that.
Try the steps from the following link:
Error message when you try to install Windows Vista by using the DVD drive on the computer: "Windows cannot install required files".

Note: When you perform the installation, you will lose the data, make sure that you need to backup your data before you perform the installation.

InstallShield interrupted when you try to install a program - 4 Help - on Vista Business 64-bit
I tried to reinstall 4 contribute from a file downloaded from Adobe. Whenever I try to install, I get a message saying that the "InstallShield Wizard has been interrupted and the program was not installed. Please try again. "I deleted the folder InstallShield to start over, but I still get the same error message. I am doing this on a laptop with Vista for businesses. I tried to download the file and install it on my desktop running on XP, and installed without problem.
The problem, it's just on my laptop with Vista. I tried to install with my disabled antivirus software, but has always failed.
I was on the phone with Adobe technical support, and so far they cannot understand it, although they say that contribute 4 is not supported on 64-bit Vista. I find this strange because I ran Contribute on this notebook since July and only had problems recently (where the need to uninstall and reintall - who is at the beginning of my InstallShield problems).
Any suggestions? I'm no expert, but I can follow simple instructions.
Thank you!Hi Donlas,
Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site.
1. make sure that you have full administrative privileges on your computer
2. of course no other applications (including antivirus software), facilities or processes are running in the background. A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts. The following link has steps showing how to perform the clean boot. http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
(1) perform the clean boot
i. Click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.
II. in the general tab, click Selective startup.
III. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.
IV. click the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box and then click Disable all.
v. click OK.
VI. When you are prompted, click on restart.
VII. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.
(2) enable half the services
(3) determine whether the problem returns
(4) enable half of the startup items
(5) determine if the problem returns
(6) repeat the steps above until you find out which program or service is causing the issue
After you determine the startup item or the service that is causing the problem, contact the manufacturer of the program to determine if the problem can be solved. Or, run the System Configuration utility, and then click to clear the check box of the element of the problem.
Note: Please make sure that the computer is configured to start as usual by following step 7 of article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 .
Reset the computer to start as usual

Need to install XP on a system with VISTA, but it won't let me!
I recently discovered that when I upgraded to Vista, I lost the use of my webcam and in order to fix properly, I have to reload a fresh install of XP, obtain the driver and then upgrade to Vista. Problem is when I boot the XP cd and try to install a new copy of XP, the message that I get is I have not all installed hard drives. I guess this is a feature of Vista security and I want to know how to get around this problem. I know the utility FDisk BACK has been useful in more installed, but alas, this utility is not found on XP disks. Suggestions welcome, thank you.
If the hard drive is SATA you need SATA drivers (from the cd XP doesn't have everything). Or disable the AHCI in the BIOS. However, this can also affect Vista. Or you might have to refomat the hard drive, put XP and Vista (installing 2 operating systems)

Impossible to install Win2003 Server to dualboot with Vista on Equium L350 - 10L
Hello
I have Windows Vista preinstalled on my Equium L350 - 10L. I wanted to install Windows 2003 server on another partition in order to dual boot between the 2 operating systems. When I start with the install of Win2003 CD and access the Setup screen, I get the following error: «Setup didn't find any hard drives installed in your computer» I'm assuming (correct me if I'm wrong) I have need to install the drivers for the SATA controller during the installation when he says "press F6 to install 3 pary SCSI or RAID drivers. I have two problems: 1. I can't find the drivers for the SATA for EQUIUM L350 - 10 L controller, 2. the laptop is not a floppy drive - which is the only way to install drivers during installation. Helpful suggestions and solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.Hello
It is important to doesn´t if toshiba does not explicitly have the F6Floppy drivers for your machine. You can go to www.intel.com and download the drivers from F6Floppy from there.
On the issue of the 'no-floppy", you can easily find a way just in slipstreaming with nlite for self made Win2003 Server drivers CD.
To learn more about "slipstreaming" CD with nLite, simply type 'Nlite slipstream XP ICHM8' or some of these words in google and you will find all THE answers. Or you use the forum search and find only 10000 messages on this slipstreaming with nlite, etc...

Problem installing XP on Qosmio G50 with vista preinstalled
Hello everyone, just joined, and after a few navigation that I think will like this place.
I just purchased a Qosmio G50 10 with preinstalled Vista and I want to install XP on the second hard drive to have the double-boot. It starts good but after it finishes loading the drivers etc, it says "starting windows" and then I get a blue screen.
The installation CD is good. This laptop is new on the market and there is not much info on it.
Even Toshiba doesn't have drivers to download.
Read here and elsewhere indicates that a driver problem might be the cause, but I need help.
Thank you.As far as I know if you want to install Windows XP Home edition on the new laptop models, you MUST use Windows XP Home SP2 installations CD edition. Please test and validate the results.
