Try this.  When you click on the button Add Audio and Captivate freezes, try to hit ESC on your keyboard to computer.  If it seems to bring Captivate in your control, your problem is that the Audio object dialog box which should appear to allow you to specify the audio file is located somewhere off the screen where you can see it or interact with it.  It is a known issue for several versions of Captivate now due to the use of multiple monitors when the user changes their configuration to monitor at any given time.  You must re-create the previous monitor configuration so that you can find the missing dialog box and drag it to the main window.
