Try to uninstall the Displaylink driver to install Win7.

I have a Sony VAIO VGN-NR110E laptop model.  I'm trying to migrate from Windows Vista to Win7 and I can Win7 tells me that I need to uninstall Displaylink driver from the control panel.  When you try to uninstall in Control Panel, it gives me a message saying: it cannot be deleted.  I don't know how to get rid of it and I'm afraid that if I get rid of the driver, it may affect the display.  Does anyone have suggestions or options?

Hi RC2076,

First of all, I would like to make a backup of the pilot. This will easily allow re-installation of your graphics card after remove you it. You probably cannot uninstall it because there is a file in use by the system. Restart your computer in safe mode. To do this restart before Windows logo screen, press F8. This will give you options. Select Safe Mode. Sign in now to see if you unisntall your driver. If you can restart and return your computer back to normal. After removal of driver you may notice that everything is bigger. It's because your screen resolution is much less without the driver. To return to normal all reinstall the driver of the OEM that you uninstalled.

I hope this helps! Shawn - Support Engineer - MCP, MCDST
