Try to upgrade Windows Vista to Windows 7, but failed to get the backup files
Im trying to High grad from vista to 7 and I need to backup my files iv tried to do, but it is not clear on the amount of space is needed the book says to use a flash drive, I tried 4,8 and 16 whenever it took an HR or Moor and then it stops and says that there is not enough space in the help he said I should be able to use several flash drives but to every time it starts again is running out of room how I do what im using is a high grade specifically for Windows vista to win 7 and don't need to make a full system backup just personal files I guess as suggestions?
Buy an external hard drive, back up everything that you want to keep this disc hard ext.
I bought one that is easier to use. All I had to do is to drag and drop files/folders from computer to external hard drive.
That's what I did when I went from Vista to Windows 7.

Hi I downloaded audio files that you want to create a playlist on windows media player to download to my mp3 player so I can be more mobile to study. When I tried to play on windows media player I get error msg-file type is not supported or the codec is not compatible with the player. They are .zip files. inside are the mp3 files that I need to listen to. can someone help me.
Hello
You need to open ZIP files, which are compressed to make it smaller, then use the content
in the application appropriate - so if the audio or video content can use WMP.Compress and uncompress files (zip files)
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/compress-and-uncompress-files-ZIP-filesAlthough Windows has integrated ZIP, you might be more comfortable using a program
with more features (and works with different types of compressed files).7ZIP - free

In windows movie maker, failed to get the narration and music to play at the same time
Hello
I have followed the instructions to the T, but cannot get the narration and music to play at the same time.Hi Anataia,
You are unable to play the music and narration at the same time, you can adjust the audio levels to determine which audio will play louder than the other in your movie.
The audio settings by default in Windows Movie Maker is for the audio portion of imported video and any narration or music that you add to play at an equal level, but you can change that setting if it does not give you the balance that you want. To adjust the audio levels, follow these steps:
- Click on Tools, then the Audio levels.
- Do one of the following:
- To increase the level of audio on the Audio track that is part of a video clip, drag the slider toward Audio from video.
- To increase the level of audio that is located on the audio / music, drag the slider to Audio / Music.
- Click close.

Hope this has been helpful.

Install XP instead of Vista
I tried to install XP in my laptop ASUS PRO31jr which currently has Vista Home Premium installed. I updated the BIOS first and changed the boot on CD/DVD order. Disk load bunch of drivers, then when it gets to the installation, said he cannot find a previous version of windows installed on the computer and calls for an XP Home edition (full version), or a CD of XP Professional (full version). The CD I have is XP Professional Academic Edition version 2002. RHE booklet supplied with the disc seems to indicate that this is the full version, and I successfully used to clean install on XP. Is the drive of my problem? I would appreciate a difinative answer if anybody out there knows for sure. Goodwich. If the message "Setup cannot find a previous version of Windows installed on the computer", you have an upgrade version that requires Windows XP Home Edition installation.

Initially, the list of bookmarks included all my favorites, but they had an empty box for their icon and clicking the Properties window showed no name or URL. Click on the bookmark itself was simply ignored. I went to restore from a backup bookmarks - backups are displayed for each day, but choose one gives an error. It has also removed from the list of bookmarks.
One possible cause is a problem with the places.sqlite file that stores the bookmarks and history.

Where can I get the iso file of windows 8?
I bought a cd of Windows 8, I have the product key, but I don't have the cd anymore. I tried to use the installer of windows 8 on the website, but it keeps saying that he could not tell if my pc is ready to install windows 8. where can I get the iso file?
Who does not work even when the online version and commercial version are somewhat different and your retail key are except in the download web site. You will need to either borrow a DVD of 8 Windows or contact Microsoft support and get a replacement. Hope this helps and if you need another post to help and we will be happy to help you.

upgrading Vista to Windows 7 Professional
I followed the instructions given on the MS site to upgrade my vista to windows 7. I answered the questions and MS said that I had to purchase the Professional upgrade from windows 7. After purchasing, I tried to install it and the upgrade program says that I can't upgrade vista with this version. Is there a work around for this problem, because I don't want to do a full install.64 bit HP machinesDual processor quadcurrently Vista SP2Hi JimNorman,
1. What is the version/edition of windows vista installed on the computer?
2. How do you try to upgrade Windows Vista to Windows 7 (via anytime put at level or by using a disk)?
Make sure that you upgrade to the correct version, some versions of Windows cannot be upgraded with the installation disc you are trying to use. For example, you cannot upgrade a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version, or upgrade a higher edition of Windows like Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, to a lower edition, such as Windows 7 Edition Home Premium. If this is the case, you will need to use the custom during installation option.
Before you attempt to upgrade, please run the Windows 7 upgrade Advisor:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor
Also, check if your computer is compatible for Windows 7, using the Compatibility Center:
http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/default.aspx
To learn more about the upgrade process, please visit the link below:
