Trying to back up my windows premium 7

Can anyone help please? I'm doing a backup on my Acer Aspire one, iam trying to backup to an external drive but I get the Windows backup message failed while determining the location of the libraries of one of the users included in the backup. When I click on the Details button it tells me that the device is not ready. The external hard drive is connected through the USB port but it works correctly. I'm an ODP and not very computer can someone advise me please thank you. George

That's all is correct.  The backup will take away the same file again if it's changed since the last backup.

When I tried to back up my files, I got an error (0 x 80070013) indicating that the media is write-protected. How can I solve this problem? Thank you for your time, Shawn

You may not have the correct permissions or own the medium on which you try to perform the backup.  Here are some instructions on how to give you the right permissions and Take Ownership (if necessary).

To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder/drive, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/.  To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/. In this csse make sure grant you full permissions and check also advanced special permissions (including the inherited permissions) which can substitute for this entry to limit your rights by assembling as well.

To resolve this problem with folders or drive, take possession of the records or the reader (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  You can change now switched to read-only (even if the main folder indicates that they are always read-only - you can access yourself as the owner).  You can keep them in read-only to other users, customers and administrators even (although they can support themselves and access, if they wish, and it is really not that you can do to stop it except protect the file with a password by using a 3rd party product.)  Here is more information on the ownership of a file or a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html.  To add take ownership in the menu of the right click (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

I tried to back up my hard disk but to halfway through it says I/O device error code: 0x8007045D.  I disabled mcafee to see if it was interfering, but that did not work.   I have an acer aspire laptop with windows 7.  I was not able to save anything.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Sheila,

This can happen if your virus scanner (or another application of heavy disk activity) access to training. You can try running chkdsk in safe mode:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

If you run chkdsk in safe mode and you still have problems of backup, try to perform a clean boot to disable all third-party applications and test support upward:

  • Whenever trying to install a new windows program gives me a prompt asking the administrator username and password?

Whenever trying to install a new windows program gives me a prompt asking the administrator username and password, I don't know how to install a program when I don't have the admin username and password. I tried, tried to run the program as administrator, tried playing with the command prompt. Even to manage user accounts that I am invited with the same, if I am not even given these fundamental rights so what's the use of this product. Please help me in this regard.

    Hello Dominic,.

Thank you for reaching out to us on Microsoft Community.

The prompt that you receive requesting the administrator username and password during the installation of any program is due to the User Account Control (UAC). UAC can help prevent your computer from unauthorized changes. UAC notifies you when changes will be made to your computer that require administrator-level permissions. These types of changes can affect the security of your computer or can affect settings for other people who use the computer. We recommend that you leave UAC to help your computer course.

However, if you still want to delete the computer from Windows 8 user account control settings, you can view the suggestions about Disabling UAC in Windows 8.

  • I tried to update iTunes on Windows 10, now, I get the error "there is a problem with this Windows Installer Package".

    Hello

I tried to update iTunes on Windows 10 and now I get the message error "there is a problem with this Windows Installer Package".
I tried to fix it too, but it has not helped, so I uninstalled and tried to reinstall but there has not helped either. I tried almost everything I've seen in other posts.
I use a laptop Asus series k55VJ with an original copy of Windows and has never had this problem before.

Any of you have an idea what can do?
    Thank you!

Try to repair the Apple Software Update of the programs and features Control Panel, then uninstall it and then reinstall iTunes.

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.

More information area has direct links with the current and recent buildings if you have problems to download, must revert to an older version or want to try the version of iTunes for Windows (64-bit-for old video cards) as a workaround for problems with installation or operation, or compatibility with QuickTime software or a third party.

Backups of your library and device should be affected by these measures but there are links to backup and recovery advice there.

    Hi MelissaBoltik,

    ·         What is the exact error message?

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 2: Perform a clean boot to see if there is a conflict of software like the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
