Trying to preform system recovery

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 - 4157cl. It came with windows 7 installed. I have upgraded to windows 8, but now I want to return my laptop to windows 7. I ordered the system recovery DVDs. But the laptop does not start upward from the DVD rom because the driver is not comparable with windows 8. I would like to make the recovery of the system, but I'm stuck and don't know how to get past this issue. Can I use an external rom DVD? Or y at - it was a updated driver for windows 8 for the DVD-rom supplied with this notebook? Help, please!
Thank you

Cannot start Windows 7 from Windows 8 recovery. You must boot from the first disc of HP recovery to start the recovery process. Please, see performing a recovery of the system (Windows 7) HP for instructions on the use of the HP recovery DVDs.

(1) disconnect all connected devices and cables such as personal media players, USB drives, printers and faxes. Remove support for internal hard drives and remove any recently added hardware internally.
(2) turn on the computer and insert the first recovery disc into the drive.
(3) press and hold the power button to turn off the computer.

4) press the power button to turn on the computer and immediately press the ESC key several times, once every second, until a Menu start or select boot device menu opens.
(5) the selections you need to do vary slightly depending on the type of menu that appears on your screen:
If a menu select Boot Device displays, upward or down arrow to select the CD/DVD drive and then press ENTER to continue.
If a Boot Menu appears, press F9 to open "Boot Menu", or "Boot Device Options '. The top or down arrow to select the CD/DVD drive. And then press ENTER.

(6) follow the instructions given by the HP recovery program.

I had updated all my service packs and updates microsoft when I accidentally made a recovery of the system instead of restore to earlier date, I lost everything I need service packs ecxt.

The best way to proceed is to keep going to the Microsoft Update Web site and it works until there is no more Important updates on the left.

If you want a few shortcuts:
    Windows XP SP3
    Internet explore 8
    .NET framework 4

Run and install the three above in that order (SP3, IE8, .NET 4) and heading to the Microsoft Update Web site will give you the best time in obtaining all the updates that are installed.

    Hello johnchappina,

If the machine not start and complete the recovery process, we have hardware problems that must be addressed before we can expect Windows to behave properly.

I would encourage you to run hardware diagnostics supplied by your manufacturer to go forward.

Please note that material diagnostics shall not exempt a machine to have clerical errors. They simply tell us if they find some hardware issues.

  • HP G62 371DX: help! Can not perform the system recovery

    HP G62-371DX
A few months ago that my HP laptop was very slow, then crashed. I have factory reinstall using disks that I have ordered or purchased from HP. It was a time of recovery the first successful I used the recovery disks and after days of updates of the VICTORY, even was running Win 10, without a hiccup. Then, I received a few messages on the hard disk health and prominent failure. I decided to upgrade the laptop by buying a new battery and a HARD drive. When I tried to use system recovery discs to reinstall Windows 7 to factory State, it failed with an error:

    Copy the file fails
    From: F: \PRELOAD\BASE11. WIM
    TO: C: \RM\IMAGE| COMMODITIES11. WIM
    PRESS OK TO RETRY

"" He then reloads the "Windows prepares your computer for first use" MORE AND MORE. Could there be something wrong with the recovery discs?

    Hello

You can try to see if the problem is with the recovery disks, would be to see if you can perform a new installation of Windows 10.

As you mention that you recently update from Windows 7 to Windows 10, a hardware profile on your machine will be recorded by the activation servers

Therefore, as long as the previous installation of Windows 10 had activated Ok after the upgrade to Windows 7, you can simply create the 10 Windows media on another PC and then perform a new installation as described in the guide on the following link.

Note: On the activation screen, select "I don't have a product key" - Windows will activate automatically once installation is complete.

  • system recovery I tried and it's not now, windows not loading not windows

My computer (HP G71) gave me a few problems, so I backed up my files to an external drive and tried to do a system restore.  When I ran the system recovery, I got an error message which said he couldn't do that and restart.  I clicked on the OK"" button.  When it restarts, it's just sitting at a black screen, Windows never came.

    Hello

I think it was worth it to run some basic tests, just in case there is a problem with the hardware behind the problem of recovery.  You can do the following.

Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at the esc you key start Notepad to open the Start Menu.  Select the BIOS (usually f10) and under the Advanced or the Diagnostic tab, you will find the possibility to run tests on the hard drive and memory.  Post back with the details of any error message.

If the test above all pass, but you do not know the product key on the COA label 25 characters, you can order a replacement set of recovery disks using the link below - these discs will not need to enter a product key and the activation of the operating system will be automatic. The procedure for using recovery discs to reinstall the operating system (Factory Reset) is detailed in the document of HP here.

    Order HP recovery disks.

If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

  • Error System Recovery Options while trying to install Windows 7 on your laptop white (without os)

I bought a Toshiba laptop satellite c55-c-174 with no OS on it. Downloaded Windows 7 from msdnaa and bootable usb drive created with PowerISO. Had a lot of trouble with the usb as a boot recognition, but then I changed the boot order to usb is just after the drive hard (i.e. second). Also in the configuration system changed boot at CSM Boot Mode. And it's system BIOS version 5.10.

Finally, he started installation, but found no drivers. So I tried Startup Repair option. Didn't fix it, just at the point where I tried to access the repair your computer option again it says error System Recovery Options: this version of system recovery options is not compatible with the version of windows that you want to repair. Try to use a recovery disc that is compatible with this version of windows.

Someone has the power to deal with this?

    Thanks in advance.

ISO power not recommended to bootable media.  The prompt for drivers almost always means that the media is bad, because all modern SATA drivers are in the installation media.

I create flash support using Rufus for UEFI/GPT, then start using only the Key of the BIOS Boot Menu.  Choose the UEFI version to the flash stick, then custom Setup, remove all partitions until the space unallocated click beside the AutoShape and start.

If you have changed all the UEFI BIOS configuration settings, set them in the UEFI firstly, turn off Secure Boot, CSM disabled, Windows Boot Manager set first to start.  If, in case of doubt poster of photos of back and we will help you sort the parameters correctly.  It would be good also update the UEFI firmware like this can matter.

All this is covered and much more still to ensure a perfect clean reinstall Windows 7

    Hello

I ordered the DVD from Toshiba system recovery to reinstall my laptop.
I launched the DVD, it starts the formatting of disks hard, then ERROR! And then nothing! Does anyone have an idea of what is happening and what I need to do? Thank you very much!

    Here is the command messages:
"unzip the operating system and system/Windows re
Error: Could not open file WIM F:\ZZImg\14637XSP.swm!
ERROR: RecoWMAInfo.exe does not work correctly!
Press any key to continue... »

Once I press a key, it gets blanck... gasp! :(
Thank you for all the advice!

Have you tried to initiate recovery procedures once more?

In which case it would not work for the 2nd time, you should get in touch with the supplier of disk (Arvato?) and should again ask disc. I guess the recovery disk is the troublemaker.

  • I can't do on my laptop system recovery

    Hello!

I try my laptop HP Pavilion PC g6 recovery but it does not work! I did it last year and it worked, but now it doesn't! The problem is that when I remove the last CD of HP recovery (they are four) since the drive hard, after a while my laptop suddenly stopped! I so want to solve or to get any help here because I really need my work laptop.

    Thanks for any help!

It is a possiblity that the laptop overheating causing the closure. Take a can of compressed air and clean all the ports, vents, etc. to ensure good air circulation. You might even live a small fan to the laptop while trying to run the recovery again.

Another possibility is failing hard drive. Use Diagnostics to test and memory. You should have diagnoses in the BIOS (F10 to light) or diagnostic system (F2 to turn on)

  • NB500 - I can't do the system recovery

    Hello

    I got a nb500 Windows 7 starter and I cannot do a system recovery out-of-the-box.

I tried "press 0 and power", the pc starts, but as long as I continue to press 0 nothing happens. When I release, it will continue to boot normally into windows. Also tried with f8, I can see the system recovery options, but there is no tool for HARD drive recovery there. I also used a toshiba recovery media Creator called program but when I start, it displays a message «there is no area of hard drive recovery»

    Any suggestions please?

For some reason any there there no initial access to the recovery image.

Either it is deleted or the partitions of HARD drive structure is changed and recovery tool cannot find the settings for the recovery image.
Now, you have little problem. Recovery image installation will not work.

    You have two options:
1 / you can try to install recovery disc original order of Toshiba - https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
2 / you can install own OS version

All readers, tools and utilities, you can find and download from the Toshiba download page - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

  • Loop system recovery options

This morning Satellite 100 my wife running Windows Vista itself got in a loop of the system, with absolutely no discernible way out recovery. I have so for you guys to see if anyone has had the same problem.

First of all, the system stops (battery problem). It restarted, he and the Vista loading got a message box with the "System Recovery Options" section, just an OK button and the message "Cannot load this program click OK to restart" or something to that effect. Something off the machine.
I tried F8 at startup upwards and all options in the recovery (including repair system tools) menu restart Vista and get the same message.
I've searched the Toshiba support site and found nothing.

I have a disc of recovery but that would reformat the hard drive and it has a lot of things not saved.
I suspect it's to go into Recovery Mode and find a disk on the "hidden" partition error So, I just want to stop making so that I can start the machine and backup files. Any ideas?

    Hey Buddy,

You can start Windows in safe mode?

I think in the worst case it s necessary to reinstall Windows if it doesn t start more. I mean there is nothing you can do

I m wondering that you didn't make a backup of the important files, you can save if you put the HARD drive into an external HARD drive enclosure. Then you can connect to another computer and make a backup before reinstalling Windows.

  • How can I run a system recovery?

    Hello

Anyone know how to run a system recovery? My machine is: Toshiba Satellite L300D.

I tried ' the power of restraint button for 10 seconds and then press on and hold zero keys "(Http://www.toshiba.com.au-online home > support > FAQ > how can I get System Recovery rum?) but I does not work.
After I release the 0 key it should come to the top of the screen, but what was displayed is a black white and at the top of the screen theres a small words blurred (fonts may 2-3, I can't read it however).

    Thank you

    Hello

Press 0 (zero) key, turn on the laptop, then release the button Zero when appears the Toshiba logo.

If this does not work, go to the start menu by pressing F8 when Windows starts booting, then go to Windows Recovery Options. You can also run Recoveyr from here (if its Vista).

  • P6 - 2220t: System Recovery will erase my scores?

    So, here's the deal.

I am running windows 7, tried to install Linux Mint to dual boot with windows.

I allocated half of my hard drive to a partition for Linux.

Now, due to problems with my Bios, I can't quickly disable windows startup or start-up secure, so I can't get Linux to work and can no longer see almost half of my hard drive.

I really want to have these 250 gigabytes of hard disk space back.

When I got to the computer, I was tasked to make recovery disks (set of 4) that I have.

I already backed up all my data, but my question is, if I run the system recovery discs, they erase the partition I've implemented for linux?

I knid of you want to run any way restore before installing windows 10 as there are a few other bugs that I am not able to get rid of.

    Rob, welcome to the forum.

The recovery of the system will return your computer to the original configuration, from the first day that you started the computer.  In my opinion, it will only make two partitions; C:\ and D:\.

Please click on the Thumbs up button '+' if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

  • The system recovery disk - how do without floppy drive?

I am trying to create a "system recovery disk" as part of the TOSSHIBA ASSIST (protect and fix the section).

However, before we proceed, I noted that he was invited to a 'floppy' create a recovery disc but this model without this facility data can be recorded on a CD. I didn't get throughout the procedure and find that I couldn't finish it due to no floppy drive!

Or otherwise just use the product recovery DVD - Rom supplied with the laptop in case of problem... not sure if this would hold the same data?

    Any help is appreciated!

    Hello Christine

If you look carefully on this print option (shortcut) it is written to create the CD drivers & tools and in aria info nothing follow description allows to create an external symbol to the top of the caisse de dépôt drivers & tools.

You use this shortcut, you can simply create Tools & Utilities CD and not the system recovery media. I did a few times without any problem. Equip your optical drive for CD - R, click on this shortcut, click the button BURN.

    All that s!

  • Helps the dv4 HP system recovery

My laptop does not start normally. I have to put it in safe mode in order to start it. When I try to boot normally, a blue screen appears a second after the computer starts. It's only for a second, then my computer restarted, promptimg me to start in safe mode.

I have a set of recovery disks created when I first bought the computer, but I can't understand how to use them. In safe mode, I can open Recovery Manager. I choose the system recovery and answer 'Yes' when asked if I want to restore my computer to factory settings. When I click Next, the computer restarts. A window titled "System Recovery Options." I have the following options:

Startup Repair (I tried, it did not help my problem)

Systemm restoration (I can't access it, I turned it off until it started and now I am unable to turn it on)

System Image Recovery (that's what I tried, but I can't understand what I'm doing)

The Windows Memory Diagnostic (have not tried)

Command prompt (no idea how to do this)

Please, I need urgent help to solve this problem. I read the other subjects with similar issues, but as even I, log in normally, none will work for me. I need to use an external disk drive to use the restore disks and I tried to use, but like I said, I don't know what to do. Please help me get my system recovery to work. Thank you.

Your laptop is not booting from the recovery disc. Enter the BIOS (F10 key after plugging for most HP laptops) and USB CD/DVD drive as the first boot device. Save and exit.
