Tungsten E2... new Palm gel

I just got this new E2 today to replace the old. I got sync would be for the existing account, everything looked and was a lot of work until I added the screen saver. Now, the touch pad does not work and it does not turn off. NADA. I've done several soft resets, nothing. So I did a hard reset, still nothing. Is the screen where you hit the target popped up put it does not record the taps. And it always turns.  I wonder if all the friction to mount the screen saver and without bubbles did hurt since it was working fine until there?

Clues? I searched the Google Desktop Help files and saw nothing.

I found it. Still not sure why, but for some reason the movie screen saver has been interfering. Apparently if you install the film where it located exactly the screen it interferes. I can try again and focus only on the bottom where I do all the writing.

  • The Tungsten T3 for Palm Pre data migration

    Hello

I am the owner of a Palm Tungsten T3. I have a lot of contacts, calendar, tasks and Memo data in I want to migrate my new Palm Pre. I saw Palm information on how to move the data from Palm Desktop for the pre, using the data transfer Assistant (DTA). However, it seems to work for Palm Desktop v6.2. T3 is not compatible with v6.2, being the latest sw version v4.1.4.e.

When I launched DTA, I got an error. I tried several things and looked in the forums, but only to find tips for v6.2. In the end, I decided to upgrade to v6.2 in my Windows XP, but I skipped stage of synchronization with my camera (such as the T3 is not compatible). Then I run the DTA. This time, I got to the step when it asked me to connect my pre as a USB key. But after that, he tells me that Palm Desktop is installed, but contains no data to transfer. However, I can see my data in the desktop. My guess is that I could solve the problem if I could synchronize with a PDA compatible.

Can someone give me a hint on how to transfer data to my pre of my T3? Is this possible at all?

    Thank you

You will not be the Tungsten T3 or the Palm Desktop 6.22 Pre - synchronization you will use as a vehicle to move the data into your pre.  I suggest that you use the command Export of Palm Desktop 4.1.4e for export data PIM (Contacts, calendar, tasks and Memos) out as a file in comma-delimited (.csv) as a backup before installing Palm Desktop 6.22 as the data upgrade process can not be cancelled.  If you need to go back to Palm Desktop 4.x and do not have a backup, you will be out of luck.

After you have backed up your data, I upgrade to Palm Desktop 6.22, DTA can migrate your data in the meadow and then synchronize the Pre with a Google account to access e-mail and calendar.

To fix your data problem in the second part of your post, you can try to install free third-party utility, PalmHotSyncSetup.  This changes the Windows for Palm Desktop registry keys so that he could support the older devices like the Tungsten T3.  You can download PalmDesktopHotSyncSetup from Pimlico Software Web site.

    Hope that helps,

  • Migrating from a Plam T E2 to a 'New' Palm T E2?

OK - market on another level... I have several reconditioned Palm Tungston E2 I bought off Amazon... and will have bad sync for the 'new' Palm.  Palms are the same exact material - all Tungston E2.

The instructions on the web site of HP/Palm to install the software that came with your handheld ' because the E2 a code as the handheld 'needs or something to that effect.  I don't know if it's the 'specific hand who held' or T E2 series.  I did it with a single device several months ago and it worked but was a lot of gymnastics.

I tried once again to migrate to still a 'new' pocket computer and could not run - and nor would my only "current" synchronize plus or - on a Vista PC.  However, I hooked the ' one up via the USB port on my old XP PC which had given at least years and he left sync'd beautifully!

Can someone tell me if I have to re - install the software from the disc - really?  OR could I just do a "" Desktop replaces handheld ' on the most recent Pocket? "  One thing... maybe I need to use the disk to put the user name on the new hand.  I tried it (on Vista he) & after a couple of times the software does not work do not let me even access the topic 'material set up' to name the new hand.  And the new pocket computer does not have the username added to it and it would be even more is in contact with the Vista.

No idea what I am doing wrong?  I'd like to just uninstall everything on the desktop and reinstall Palm Desktop 6.22 on the HP website and start again... and do a hand replaces desktop. . but I don't know if it will work more.

I guess my real preference at this stage would be to run the old Windows XP machine, so I I can use Documents to go Version 8 (which works with the E2 T) as well as with the Palm Desktop (and of course Agenda 6 of Pimlical).  But I need to get my user name and the data on the 'new' E2.   I have the mose current Palm Desktop aready on this XP machine. Yet once, I followed the instructions on the HP website to do all this on the Vista... but there is something (I'm) missing!

Thanks in advance for the help!  Deb

    Hi WyreNut!

Sorry for my LATE reply to your reply... flat other computer problems - which are now corrected.

So are you saying I can reset the new E2 just hard, then sync it and the synchronization process will ask you a user name because he is not a (still) on the new E2?  No need to run the installation disc?  I just want to be clear.  What I have to do a 'Desktop replace hand held"in sync, implemented?

OK - Thanks again for the help!

BTW - my plan of choice now is to synchronize with a portable old XP I where all the features of the thin Palm wokred!

Yes, when make you a good Hard Reset of a Palm device, then perform the first HotSync, Palm Desktop will give you the opportunity to create a new account, or using an existing one.  When you take existing, all data will be flowing to the new device.  Yet once, back up your important data is recommended before attempting this.

You can set the lines to crush the Hanheld if you wish, but this is normally not necessary.

The installation disc is not necessary.  If you run it, Palm Desktop 4.x will be installed and cause confusion.

  • New Palm used Palm Pre profile

    Hello

I bought a used Palm Pre (Movistar, YOU) and now want to create a new Palm profile so I can use the phone in Australia (Optus, at THE).

How to set up a new Palm profile on this phone?

He is currently running WebOS 1.4

    Thank you

    Nick

Regarding the hacks and things of this nature, it is something that we cannot help here.

Since the unit locked up on screen language then we would need to restart the device. If this does not resolve the issue, then you will need to use webOS Doctor on the device. Reason for this step is there is no way at this stage of the journal of the unit to do a partial/full erase.

  • new Palm trees

Can I move my data to my computer running the palm software to access a new palm devices?

Yes. (1) WebOS devices come with a desktop data transfer Assistant application that migrates your data from Palm Desktop for the new phones. This is a one-time, one-way operation. Or (2), you can export data from office to Google or Yahoo and use Synergy to sync with the new phone. Or (3) you can use a third party such as Chapura PocketMirror Echo or CompanionLink desktop application to synchronize your Palm Desktop data locally (i.e. without the use of synergy). Suggest that you browse the boards of synchronization... the question is it covered in great detail.

  • Calendar of transfer and Tungsten E2 for Palm Pre contacts

    Hello

Im trying to transfer the contacts and calendar information from a Palm Tungsten E2 to Palm Pre. Im doing this at le nom d' a school support us in our IT Department and just want to sort or tell the school that is not possible because they have going about it since a few weeks now. I have tried to export the Palm desktop .dba file to yahoo calendar, then a .csv so I can import it into a google calender, however, it does not work.

Is there any backward compatibility that the Pre offers for the E2?

If all data has already been in palm desktop. You can use the migration of palm tool to transfer the data to the device.

  • My new Palm Centro freezes during incoming calls, which affects my business that I'm self-employed

    Hello

I tried all the patches on my new Palm Centro, nothing helps.  I use my phone as my business phone and I am self-employed independent.  I missed more than several business calls very imnportant because of this problem of freezinf.  I use mobile phones now more than 15 years and have never had this problem before.  As mentioned, I tried all the mentioned patches, no joy.  I don't have any third-party software.  I do not sync my Centro on my desk.  I only used the phone and calendar option.  I don't see any point in calling the support line because it will cost me money for a known problem.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Mike

I've been in the same situation a year ago and my advice is, get something else.

The unlocked GSM Centro clearly has a problem and many of us have gone through several refurbed and sometimes even new units and still had the same problem. It's not worth the hassle. Pity even so, as the calendar of the Centro and form factor is ideal for business, the aints however lock and will do your head in.

So my advice is to get your money while you can. If you are looking for Centro and freezing here and other forums, you'll see what I mean.

  • Tungsten E2 - Vista - problems of funds. New Palm and Desktop?

Just moved to a new computer with Vista professional. Discover issues with Palm Desktop 4. Have a Tungsten E2. I'm NOT happy with version 6 of the Office!

I can run the worm old office 4 on the virtual disk in vmware on vista, but wonder how to synchronize?

Or... there at - it a new pda palm on the market that works with Vista and have an office that has more features than version 6? (Oh and also accept the years of files from old palm desktop?)

I am disgusted that I face this in 2009. Reminds me of how I used to have to do things with windows in 1995.

Only, I have solved my problem. I found a good third palm (and vista) compatible desktop software. http://www.iambic.com/Agendus/winpded/default.asp

I loaded it in Vista and it has been able to pull in all the files of the Palm Desktop Ver 6 and even was able to find all the category tags that had been in ver 4 (but were not visible in ver 6). All this happened without any intervention on my part.

It is not free, but it is certainly useful to make my life easier.

  • Upgrading to a new palm pilot

My Tungsten E Palm Pilot is ready to expire. I am looking for a product that connects seamlessly with the data of the tungsten e. Any suggestions?

Assuming that you synchronize with Palm Desktop, the only thing that will connect absolutely transparent with your data is a Palm OS replacement device.  There is no made new, so your options are limited to places such as www.ebay.com or amazon or other sources such as market vendors.  If you go to ebay, check the user Chris Short "itsnothere" that sells units that he renovated himself, and has an excellent reputation.

  • New Palm TX sync error (for me)

I'm new to this forum, but have a Palm TX for two or three years now and never had a problem doing my regular hot synce via a usb cable.

Today, I tried to change my Office Outlook synce. Synchronization has never worked.  I had to ctrl-alt-del to get out of synchronization.  I have re-inserted the CD Palm & changed the synce on desktop.  But now my PC does not recognize my device.  I can't do a hot sync.  I did a soft reset, then a reset hot, without change.  Before making a hard reset (yes my data still resident in my palm desktop) I wanted to ask someone if there is another way I have to look?

    Oliver Peters

For those who have read my last post...  I found the problem.

I have connected my TX to my PC via the USB port.  (This will allow my PC to say 'there was an error in the connection of your device)  Then, I went to the Device Manager tab and saw that now there's an asterisk the long side of the Palm.  By clicking on the asterisk, I then removed the drivers associated with Palm, I unplugged my TX, then re-pluged new USB and Windows re installed the drivers. Ran a new synchronization hot, and everything's fine.

I want to give my current Palm to my niece. I bought a new.  How to remove information (contacts, calendar and registration name) so she has a clean Palm?

A hard reset should clear all data and the user name.

  • Transferred to the new Palm Oldl Palm PIM software?

I improved Treo 600 my wife to a Treo 680.  I kept the same device name.  The 600 was the 'old' software PIM such as calendar, address book, etc..  The 680 has Calendar, Contacts, etc..  However, the 680 works as if she had the old PIM software.  For example, calendar of events cannot go beyond midnight, Contacts do not have dates of birth; in other words, none of the features of the new PIM software updates are functional.  In addition, the HotSync conduits for his camera all have the 'old' PIM software titles (Agenda, etc.).

I also improved my own 680 news at the same time of a Tungsten T3, which already owned the new PIM software.  They work perfectly on my 680, and the HotSync conduits are named OK, 'new '.

Suggestions on how to get the fully functional software of PIM on 680 my wife?  Thank you!

The issue is that the 600 has a completely different file system. If the data is not be read correctly. What you have to do is export your data, create a new user name and reset your device and sync to the new username. This should resolve your sync calendar and contacts deliver. If you need assistance.

  • Buy a new Palm Z22 computer

My Palm Z22, I saw, finally bit the dust after almost 5 years.  I would like to buy a new one, but extreme difficulties, the location on the Web site.  He was interrupted?  If this isn't the case, could someone give me a link so I can make my purchase.  Paper just does not cut it more!  Thanks in advance...

OK - guess I should have read the rest of the threads below.  Looks like I'm out of luck.  Are there any other non-telephone, just devices PDA which I could dump my old Palm information to?  I sense that the last 5 years of my life is in this device and don't know how to work properly without it?

  • Where the new Palm Desktop Store files?

I imported all my files from my old computer with Windows XP and Palm Desktop version 4. XX to my new computer with Windows Vista and Palm Desktop version 6. XX.

I imported the where I had recorded the on my windows 'desktop' (not the Palm Desktop - a bit "confused, but you know what I mean").  Once imported, I saved the menu 'save' in the Palm, and now I want to know the directory in which the Palm Desktop saved files.  Are they stored in a different directory than where they were imported, for example, Palm saves files imported into an auxiliary file in the folder "Documents" of Windows, or to an auxiliary file in the Windows ' programs' folder under ' Palm /...?  Hope I'm making sense.  I want that all secure, saved in the correct before you start directory to delete the files that I think I need is no longer.

Hello..  If you imported the Palm desktop and data show there so it's in the correct folders.  The import process creates this data file, calendar/Agenda on this issue, etc.  If you look at c:\my documents\palm os desktop\user name of the folder, you will find all the data folders with an .mdb file that is the data file.

  • T3 and new Palm Desktop on x 64

So I was reading about sync on windows xp 64-bit and the site I googled said "UPDATE: the new version of palm desktop installs smoothly on x 64 so try that before this option Bluetooth set. So I installed it and it installed fine, however, I still can't hotsync my T3 - the configuration step where I press the hotsync button still does not work. I get the message unable to establish connection.

So am I correct to assume that, even if this new version of Palm Desktop installed on my x 64 machine, it's useless because I still will not be able to synchronize my device?

I have no bluetooth or WiFi card of the T3, so is uselss rendered it?

    Thank you

Hello..  Welcome to the forums of Palm.  Your T3 can work with Palm desktop 6.2, but is not designed to be compatible with it.  You will need to do is to uninstall 6.2 and then install a copy of the 4.1.4e.  Now regarding the synchronization of your T3 a bluetooth compatibility so you should be able to synchronize. If your computer doesn't have bluetooth compatibility, you'll need to buy a bluetooth dongle.  I saw them for as low as $2 and more.  Once you have installed bluetooth dongle there are more information how to set up bluetooth synchronization in the thread of hotsync windows here.  Here is a link to this thread:
