Tunnel is - to > No. traffic passes

I built a tunnel L2L ipsec between the external interfaces of a pix 515 (7.2.1) and one asa 5520 (8.0.2). I want inside each firewall network to be able to communicate with each other through the tunnel, but I cant get any traffic to cross.

I configured the nat 0 access-list sheep on each firewall with traffic, I want to go through the tunnel and that acl is also on my crypto card (inside). The only way I can get the tunnel upwards is ping on my external interface of each firewall (which I have added as 'interesting' traffic) for the tunnel to the top.

Any ideas why my internal LAN no is not communicating would be appreciated.

Delete the second line list of access-160, and then add the following line to the PIX and ASA time:

management-access inside

If you try to open the flow of the ASA, then you need to managing access control, however, it should appear if you try to leave a device inside the network.

  • Tunnel established but no traffic passing on the Site 2 Site VPN

I have a cisco 2900 series construction of a site-2-site of the ASA 5510 vpn tunnel.  The tunnel works out very well, but I can't get the traffic through the tunnel.  I have read several other posts and tried a lot of suggestion (probably to break things in the process).  I don't know if I'm not nat all messed up or if my access lists on the router are goofy.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ahh, looks like the CradelPoint router could have dropped the ESP package, as we can see the router is to encrypt the packets, but the ASA receives nothing / decrypts, which means it does not even reach the ASA.

Activate the NAT - T, so ESP is encapsulated in UDP/4500.

  • Dynamic L2L Tunnel - the Tunnel is up, will not pass the LAN traffic

Hello everyone. I am repurposing an ASA for my business at a remote site and must use a dynamic Configuration of L2L with Split tunneling active. We used these in the past and they work a lot, and I've referenced Cisco official documentation for the implementation. Currently, I am having a problem where I am unable to pass traffic on the local remote network over the VPN tunnel (it does even not raise the tunnel of form). However, if I run the following command in the ASA remote:

    Ping inside the 192.168.9.1

I receive the ICMP responses. In addition, this traffic causes the VPN Tunnel to be created as indicated by show ISA SA:

    1 peer IKE: xx.xx.xx.xx

    Type: L2L role: initiator

Generate a new key: no State: MM_ACTIVE

Here is the IP addressing scheme:

Network remotely (with the ASA problem): 192.168.12.0/24

    Basic network (Hub): 192.168.9.0/24

    Other rays: 192.168.0.0/16

Once the tunnel is in place, LAN to the Remote Site traffic won't pass through the VPN Tunnel any upward. On the side of ASA Core, I was able to Telnet in the ASA distance very well, but could not ping the Remote Access Point.

Someone at - it a glimpse of my problem?

    Hello

    Add:

NAT (inside) 0-list of access inside_nat0_outbound

  • VPN Tunnel to the TOP but no traffic passing (PIX515)

I'll put up a remote engineers access to off-site to access my network (using the cisco vpn client). I use PIX 515E software version 7.0 (3) 20 as a vpn server. I can establish a tunnel, but I can't access network resources. I can ping the external interface of the PIX. This is my setup: internet-router-pix-dmz(server farm). Please find attached my setup. Thanks in advance.

After a glance at your policy, it seems that the Pool of IP, that is assigned to the clients behind the outside interface, runs behind the DMZ. I don't think it will work.

In addition, defined distribution policy seems to be backward. Im sure that you intend to send traffic FROM the IP pool to 196.26.12.64/26. Your acl split is the opposite.

In addition, your routing table does not contain a route for the 196 network, so the firewall will use the default route to the outside. If this is intentional, the clients and dst are on the outside, which is considered to be crossed. This is allowed on the SAA only with the same security setting configured.

  • S2S VPN Asa 5510 to 5505 no traffic passing (hair Pulling)

I have one site to another configured between a 5505 and ASA 5510, the tunnel is in place but can not pass any traffic one way or another. A 5510, 8.4.3 while the 5505 was 8.2. I find the version 8.2 the less confusing when configure the VPN. The new NAT throws me for a loop on the 5510. I have 1 tunnel upward and will already and it works fine. But when I do a new online, it won't pass any traffic.

    The traffic I'm EFS is 5510 (192.168.180.0/24, 172.25.11.0/24)<-------> 5505 (192.168.197.0/24) many thanks in advance!

Here's the configs for the two.

    Hello

The reason for the DECLINE suggests that the ASA has still attached to the L2L VPN VPN filter configuration that prevents traffic.

Check the configuration and remove atleast VPN filter temporarily for testing purposes.

  • ASA Site to not tunnel no transmission of traffic for some subnets after awhile

    Hello

We have a question really strange tunnel from site to site on several ASAs.

We organize VPN tunnels between a small site and three largest.

The den has an ASA 5505, the other three principles are ASA 5510.

One of the tunnels working for months without problems.

Each tunnel has several class C network.

    example Site:

    -192.168.50.0/24 (named A1)

    -192.168.51.0/24 (called A2)

    Site b:

    -192.168.60.0/24 (named B1)

    -192.168.61.0/24 (called B2)

On two faulty tunnels, all is well at the beginning. After a few days (1-14) some networks to cease to work. So I can ping both A1 and A2 B1 network networks, but only from A2 B2 network. Pings from A1 to B2 doesn't expire. The ASA site showed tx = 0 traffic for <=>A1, B2, but progressive count rx traffic. ASA b it shows rx = 0 to B2<=>A1 and tx counties upward.

This happens unexpected after different periods. Sometimes he hits ASA on site B, where tx = 0, it is sometimes ASA on A site.

I tried to fix it as a result of orders:

    ISAKMP crypto claire his
    clear crypto ipsec his
    clear xlate

but nothing has worked. The only solution for now is to restart the ASA where tx County indicates 0. After restarting, everything goes well for a while.

On one of the affected sites, we have a failover configuration - ASA. A failover of the active device also solves the problem. But if you change your prior back restart the old principal question will return immediately.

I think that there is no configuration because:

-All tunnels are configured in the same way, and one of them is running for moths without any problem

-Tunnels work for all combinations of subnet after a reboot

-The problem occurs after different and long periods of time. So I think that the period between failures is long to be caused by tunnel a.s.o. timeouts.

    All ASA are running 9.1. (5) 21.

I updated the firmware of several releases these past few months and had the same problem with any version I tested.

So I hope that someone else has also had this problem and found a solution.

    Christian Hey!

Hopefully, solve or find the root cause?

    Thank you

  • ASA: S2S Tunnel stops with higher traffic

    Hello

I have no idea where I have to start solving our problem:

    Site A: ASA 5520/9.2 (4) 5 ~ 20 IPsec tunnels

    Site b: ASA 5505/9.2 (4) 5

When I do a SSH (or HTTP or any other TCP) session from Site A to any Linux on Site B server, I can connect, but when I do something as a "dmesg" or long "ls - al", the session hooked after 10 to 20 lines. Also HTTP sessions (as a site to set up a printer), smaller Web sites are okay (but slow), more big sites stops with a browser timeout.

This only happens on one site, all other sites work very well (which have the same config, same OS ASA).

Just to test, I opened the ssh port to the external IP address on the external interface and it works very well, as well as with the traffic through the tunnel going something wrong.

Any idea, where do I start debugging?

    Gruss ivo

PS: How is stupid cloudflare, they check this text and do not allow to write the ls command linux less al, but ls space space space less al works!

You can twist on the SAA mss using this doc and empty the outside df bit as well. Follow the steps described in the section "VPN encryption error."

Crypto ipsec df - bit clear-df outdoors

Let us know how it rates.

    Kind regards
    Dinesh Moudgil

  • PIX of Concentrator VPN tunnel, can I NAT traffic before the tunnel?

    I have a tunnel IPSEC of PIX-to-VPNConcentrator.

I have a localhost on my PIX inside interface with the IP 192.168.5.5 but the site on the end of the tunnel VPNConcentrator wants to see the IP 192.168.77.9 (because they use the 192.168.5.x network to an end for another use)

I know how things NAT from inside out, but I never have NAT - ed before traffic tunnel.

Can I NAT a local inside IP address BEFORE traffic hits the tunnel?

Yes, it is possible. Please see the below URL for the configuration details:

  • Client VPN und Cisco asa 5505 tunnel work but no traffic

    Hi all

I am new to this forum and Don t have a lot of experience with Cisco, so I hope I can get help from specialists.

    I have the following problem:

I installed und konfigured ASA 5505 for use with vpn client. I would like to access the local network from outside through vpn.

To test, I installed ASA 5505 with ADSL (pppoe) and tried to give access to the internal network.

Of course whenever I have recive the supplier's different IP address, but it didn't is not a problem reconfigure in the vpn client.

After the connection is established (vpn tunnel work) I can see my external network packets. But I Don t have any connection to the internal network.

I erased my setup yesterday and tried to reconfigure ASA again. I didn t tested yesterday, because it was too late. And I know that I Don t have the authorization rule at present by the ACL. But I think I'm having the same problem again. (tunnel but no traffic).

What I did wrong. Could someone let me know what I have to do today.

With hope for your help Dimitri.

ASA configuration after reset and basic configuration: works to the Internet from within the course.

    Hello

Normally, you want a static public IP address on the ASA to allow it to receive connections from VPN clients (avoid to change the IP address all the time).

If you connect via VPN, check the following:

    1. the tunnel is established:

    HS cry isa his

    Must say QM_IDLE or MM_ACTIVE

    2 traffic is flowing (encrypted/decrypted):

    HS cry ips its

    3. Enter the command:

    management-access inside

And check if you can PING the inside ASA VPN client IP.

    4. check that the default gateway for the LAN internal ASA within intellectual property (or there is a road to the ASA to send traffic to the VPN clients).

    Federico.

  • VPN tunnel is up, but traffic will not travel

Does not include why it does not work. I perform extended ping but no ping at all when before he did. I made a few changes since a new T1 has been installed. Any who take a quick look at this config...

  • VPN tunnel upward, but no traffic?

I decided to take a Cisco 1800 series router and try to put in place. Up to now I can get out, and everything seems fine. I then tried to configure a VPN tunnel between this router and a sonicwall router secure.

Now the problem is the GUI of SonicWall and Cisco say that this tunnel is mounted. But I can't access internal networks...

So my cisco LAN is 192.168.11.0 255.255.255.0

and the Sonic Wall is 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0

They can talk even if the tunnel is up. I was hitting my head, and running through the tutorials and just can not understand.

Here's proof that we have achieved at least the first phase:

  • Site to Site VPN is in place, but no traffic passes through.

Hello.  I'm sure this is a lot but I tear my hear and do not have cisco skills to solve this problem.  I hope someone here can identify what's wrong in my setup.

Using the Cisco Configuration professional software, I created a VPN connection from site to site (between a cisco 1841 and 1811).

The tunnel seems to be upward, as routers are concerned, but I can't ping anything on the remote networks. I thought that road maps have had something to do with it, but I don't see what is worng with them.

Just to let you know, the device of 1841 has already a VPN tunnel works to another site, in case that confuses everyone.  Peers that I am concerned about are 141.0.59.x and 109.238.78.x.

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Haydin,

    You have the following:

IP extended access list redirects the port

    deny ip 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.255 192.168.3.0 0.0.0.255

    ip permit 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.255 any

    !

Not sure why you have the entire network here with any keyword, it is better to create a static translation of one by one.

Could you please remove it and give it a try?

IP extended access list redirects the port

no permit ip 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.255 any

    Thanks in advance.

  • VPN site to Site. (ADSL)

    Dears;

I have 2800, connected to the Internet via ADSL.

I am setting up the VPN Tunnel (site-to-site) in vain.

I don't know if the problem is on ADSL.

    Hello

Interestingly, I can see the tunnel upward and the traffic passing in the new show exits, I don't know why it does not work for you.

    Try this on router (10.40.x.x)

    ping source 172.18.1.254 10.40.0.1

    This ping works?

What ip address you are trying to ping through the tunnel and what ip address?

  • l2l ASA vpn issues

    Hi all

I have two firewalls that I'm trying to implement VPNs l2l between them. Once of them is an old wall of sonic and the other 5505.

I put in all and ends the phase 1/2 and the tunnel rises however no traffic passes through

    Here is my configuration

ASA (outside, 192.168.30.1) asa internal 192.168.10.0/25

    (Outside 192.168.30.2) SonicWALL sonicwall 192.168.20.0/24

I have an accesslist that is configured on the asa and applied to the cypto card using card crypto XXXX 1, atch address YYY

However when I watch the news ebugging on the console it says: "cannot locate the output for UDP of XXXX interface: 192.168.10.10/1 to 192.178.20.1/0.

    any ideas why this is?

I just need a static route to say all traffic on asa with 192 source... 10.0 should go through 192.168.30.2?

I guess it's the work of crypto card

    Am I wrong?

    Hello

Begins to seems to me you have a filter ACL configured for your L2L VPN VPN and also the ACL filter of VPN and Crypto ACLs are the same things, which means you use a simple both ACL.

Why I think it's like this is the fact that you say that your VPN L2L cross trading in the "packet-tracer" VPN Phase means Crypto VPN L2L ACL was correct. At the same time say you that the connection was stopped to the Phase of the VPN USER. He points to a VPN filter ACL being configured.

In view of the foregoing, I also know that the ACL of filter for the L2L VPN behave with a logic different than typical ACL interface. In VPN L2L the ACL filter ALWAYS mention the remote network as the source ALWAYS and your Local network as the destination.

If add you an ACL rule with order switched networks appears this fixes the VPN filter ACL problems and finally allowed traffic. Naturally I can only guess that I saw actual configurations at this point (which, usually with release "packet - trace", help to solve a problem faster just guessing)

If you indeed filter VPN, you may be able to track him down with the following commands

    See the tunnel-group race

Check if a "group policy" is defined then the command

    See establishing group policy enforcement

This output should list the name of the ACL filter VPN if its game

Regarding the installantion auto road. The default setting for ASA, is that it will create NO static routes automatically depending on the VPN configurations. This must be enabled manually in "crypto map" configurations, or you can configure static routes manually.

ASA tracking to default TCP and UDP connections. ICMP is inspected only if his permit. By default, it is NOT inspected.

    Hope this helps

    As I suspected unmatched.

Remote side is set to 3des/sha. You are set to 3des/md5.

    change the following:

    10 L2LMAP transform-set ESP-3DES-MD5 crypto card game

    TO

    10 L2LMAP transform-set ESP-3DES-SHA crypto card game

Assuming that the things ACL match should be fine.

    Let me know.
