The Blu - ray Disc (BD) player turns off automatically if it is connected using HDMI cables to a TV that has the BRAVIA Sync function and the control for HDMI function is set to ON. The BRAVIA Sync function will turn off the BD drive whenever the TV is turned off.

  Reset the PRAM and NVRAM on your Mac.

  Reinstall El Capitan without erasing the drive
