  My sweet husband is now out of town, to the secret... and I have homework due.

  3. Check if the DisableMicFromPlayback value is set to 1. If this is the case, then, change it to 0 and click OK.
  4. Close the registry editor and restart your system.

  I think you should first start the webcam software and should test the microphone because the internal MIC is part of the webcam.
  Webcam software provides a tab; settings and properties. In one of these tabs, you will find settings for the audio.
  Here, you can increase the volume of the microphone and was able to record a small audio session.

Your computer uses a PXE boot method to attempt to load Windows from a location on your network. Since you do not have this configuration, it is safe to ignore it.   As it is has no drivers 64 bit Windows 7 on Dell Web site, your best chance is to install the 64-bit versions of Vista (if they exist) in compatibility mode, viz:

  Right click on the Vista driver, then select Properties > Compatibility tab. Now choose to run the program in Vista compatibility mode and then apply > OK. Right click on the file and select run as administrator to install it.
