  • "Turn on or off windows features" is disabled through local politics.

Basically, I have a PC when I try Windows features turn on or turn off, it comes up saying I need a system administrator. I am the system administrator, I have rights to the domain. From what I understand, this is local politics, but I can't find the specific entry to activate specifically for this.

I found the info, thank you.

I looked in the Local Group Policy Editor and found that the two keys that touched this are as follows:

Configuration - Administrative Templates - user Add or Remove Programs - Hide Add/Remove Windows components Page (not configured).

Configuration - Administrative Templates - user control panel - programs - hide "Windows features" (activated). Changed to not configured.

  • White box of "Windows features"

When I opened the box "Turn on or off windows features", I get a box empty or empty, so I can not install other features of windows, such as standard games for windows... How can I fix this.

    Running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

This has been a problem on a computer that I have for some time now and I've tried all of these fixes and none of them worked.  Finally, I worked on a solution that worked for me.

I noticed after I ran the system tool update he had some problems, he could not solve.  I had some corruptions of MOM and registry entries obsolete which did not allow show me my Windows features, so I tracked the on registry entries log and deleted my registry (very carefully).  After that, I was able to view and modify my Windows features.

The newspaper is located in Windows/Logs/CBS/after you run the tool ON.  Look for lines that begin with '(f)', if these lines are followed by two lines (FF), then the problem has been resolved.  If this isn't the case, then you must manually remove the registry entry, which is located in:

    HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/component base maintenance/Packages

If the line begins with (w), there is an obsolete registry entry and can be deleted as well.  I don't know if it's part of the problem or not.  I have not test this, but deleted anyway.

    I hope this helps.

  • Telnet is missing from the Windows features in Windows 7

I wanted to use telnet.  I went to the command prompt and enter the name of the telnet server.  He received a message indicating that it does not recognize the telnet command.  I thought that it had to be turned on in Windows (features) components.  I went to the Control Panel, get the programs, and then turn on or off Windows features enable.  Completely empty the box that opens.   There is no options to check or uncheck.  It is completely empty.  How can I get the Windows features in there?

    Windows 7 support:

By default, Telnet is not installed with Windows, but you can install it
    by following the steps below.

    To install the Telnet Client
Click the Start button, select Control Panel and then click programs.

Under programs and features, click Turn Windows features turn on or off. If
you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the
    password or provide confirmation.

In the Windows features dialog box, select the Telnet Client check box.

Click OK. The installation may take several minutes.

  • The "Windows features" dialog box is empty in Windows 7

When I click on turn on or off Windows features in the programs and features Control Panel, the Windows features dialog box is empty, no functionality is displayed. What should I do?

Thank you buddy, but sfc.exe/scannow not worked and I faced another error! (windows resource protection could not start the repair service).

    Finally, I found the solution:
    (1) If you receive the error "Registry space" low, set the size limit of the registry to "unlimited":
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
    Key: RegistrySizeLimit
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Value: 0xffffff (4294967295)
    (2) restart
    (3) as administrator, open a command prompt and run "SFC/scannow". The command should complete successfully and when errors have been detected, they should be corrected.
Follow the steps and good luck!
  • my windows 7 will not let me turn off windows media center

    Hello

To enable disable Windows Media Center (WMC), follow these steps:

    1. click on the Start button and select Panel.

    2. click on programs and features.

    3. click on or turn off Windows features turn on on the left pane.

    4. develop the multimedia features and uncheck Windows Media Center.

    5. click on Yes and OK to continue.

    6. restart the computer.

    WMC would disappear now.

Please note that WMC remains stored on your hard drive and you can turn it back on if you want. Turning off WMC does not uninstall the feature, and it does not reduce the amount of disk space used by the same.

  • What windows features are turned on or off?

What features windows should be on or off?

    Hi Apixie,

In earlier versions of Windows, to turn a feature off you had to uninstall it completely from your computer. In this version of Windows, the features remain stored on your hard drive, so you can turn them back if you want. Turn off a feature does not uninstall the feature, and it does not reduce the amount of disk space used by Windows features.
