In my old version of PSE I Image > Rotate > layer 90 degrees to the left.

    Nice day!

Could you please post a screenshot with the relevant panels visible?

Not turning off"use graphics processor" in the Performance preference and restarting Photoshop have a bearing on the issue.

    Hi juliannz,

The layers panel will contain the text only if you have saved the original under a PSD file.

If it was saved as a jpeg, png, it not the layers.

  • How can I get my images in the layers panel?

I can't get a single image at a time in the layers panel. If I go to "new layer" it shows a checkerboard only image. How can I get my other images in this Panel?

I know it's probably elementary, but I am just learning.

Use the move tool and click in the center of your image.  Then, drag and hold the tab of the image that you want to add a layer too.  When the second image opens, drop it right on top of your image and it will appear in the layer panel:

  • How can I add new images to the layers panel?

    Hello

I am brand new with photoshop elements 11.  I'm having a problem understanding how to import new images in the layers panel.  If I type "create a new layer" all that I get is an empty layer.  I want to do is to import an image where I'll cut part of it and layer it on another image.  For example: of lets say I want to put a picture of myself in front of a tree.  I want to take the image myself from a photo and he sleeps on the photo that has the tree on it.  How can I get both of these images in the layers panel even?  I can get the picture of me in the layers panel as layer #1, so I can cut myself out of the picture.  My problem is when I try to import the picture with the tree on this subject, it opens upward in a new tab.  If I try to hit 'create a new layer', only a white layer appears above my first coat.  I tried to drag the new image on the layers panel, but will not join.  All the tutorials I could find and monitor, have already all the images they work with pre-loaded in the layers panel.  I just need to know how to get my pictures in the Panel, so that I can start working with them.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

    P.S. I'm working on an iMac 2009

After selecting, you press Cmd + J and which will put the selection on a new layer.

Drag your tree to the top of the location of the project in the main image window.

Organize layers for example you may need to drag the tree stratum under the layer with yourself.

See my tutorial that uses a background solid colr.

  • How to enlarge the layers panel?

can I enlarge my layers panel? pretty hard to see.

There are several ways that you can develop the layers panel, according to the way that your tool panels is ready.

The first option is to hover over the top of the layers panel border, until you get a vertical arrow double-ended (the screenshot below displays the arrow as a hand, but you should see an arrow). When it appears, click and drag to the top. According to the other panels, you opened, you will not be able to drag it to the top. This was the case for me, since I have other two panels open above my layers panel:

The second option is to use the handle on the lower right of the layers panel, as shown in the screenshot below. When you hover over this handle, you will see an arrow diagonal amphidromous. When you see this, click and drag down. In my case, since there are no other signs open under the layers panel, I was able to expand the layers panel to the bottom of my screen:

A third option is to 'float' the layers panel. To do this, click and hold on the bar menu in the layers panel, as shown below. Then, slide the Panel to the side of your screen. You can then change the size of the Panel by using the handle specified in the previous step.

If you want to increase the size of the thumbnail of the layer (the little picture next to the names of layers, as we can see in the screenshots above), click the menu on the right side of the layers panel:

In the drop-down menu, select "Control Panel Options."... »

You can then choose a size that fits your needs in the options box that appears.

A quick edit: If you know you are going to need on a regular basis a large sign layers, click on the drop down menu by far at the top right of the image to Photoshop application. In this list, select "Essentials" or "Reset Essentials". This will automatically reorganize your tool panels so that the layers panel is expanded, as shown below (click to enlarge).

  • How to select several objects on the layers panel in Illustrator CC

I have a work of guge and I need to select a small group (about 10-100) of objects from 4000 bunk and then group objects ' em/split-to-layers for ease of use (this is an infographic of the human body for medical institute)

There IS NO way by selecting in the Web because they are overlapping and sometimes not visible at all.

in CS5 there was a function to select several objects to the icon selection Alt + click - move on the right in the Layers panel.

Now the mode duplication towers - on when I try to run it.

    Then.

Ho I select several object without having to click through thousands of them? (I need to drag-select)

    IM totally frustrated.

As long there is no deliberately locked object, you can do the following:

Drag on the lock column in the layer panel

Object > unlock all (there is a shortcut for this)

    -> unlocked objects are selected

  • Found and lost in the layers of the CC PS 2015 can be selected in the document, not only in the layers panel?

Seriously, I don't know if it's a FigNewton of my imagination or a real change in the Photoshop workspace, but when I started using PS CC 2015, a few months ago, I found myself moving layers on the screen simply by clicking on it in the document and moving them, instead going to the layers panel , by choosing the correct layer, then return to the document and move the layer or change. Is this a real change or I dream? Especially, if it's an option, I can't do more. He stopped. How do I resurrect it?

Automatic selection / auto-move has been there for several versions. Check your settings of the tool at the top when you use the move tool.

  • Place in the layers panel

I used to be able to see the selection tool and layer I was working in InDesign, and now he's disappeared. When I try to move an object to another layer, I can't go in the layers panel and use the selection box to drag because he went to a new layer. Is there a setting to turn this back on?

  • You drag an image in the layers panel

    Hello

In some Photoshop tutorials I've met, the author speaks of "drag an image in the layers panel. For example, there is a picture, let's call him background.jpg on layer1 and which appears in the layers panel. Now you want to open another image, call object1.jpg in order to work on this point, the objective being that object1.jpg should go on layer2, above layer1 in the layers panel.

Yet when I open object1.jpg, in the layer1 layers panel (which hosts background.jpg) disappeared.

How can I drag object1.jpg to layer2? In other words, how can I keep my layers panel open - the layers panel that shows layer1 with clutter on it - while working on object1.jpg?

    Thank you

    Steve

Oh, it's CS3 and they do not have legs.  Open the two files and arrange the windows so that you can see each of the files.  Then just drag one layer to the other file.

  • Fill vs. opacity in the layers panel

I don't understand how the filling works in the layers panel.  I understand how opacity affect the layers but funny, something happens when you use fill to decrease the opacity and then merge layers.  I don't use, but I'm sure he has a special purpose.

    Using CS4 on mac

    Thanks in advance

Filling will adjust the opacity of only real pixels on a layer. It will not adjust things like the Layer Styles because the pixels are not actually on the layer.

Opacity adjust all of the visible content of a layer

It is quite easy to see the difference...

Make 2 layers. Draw a rectangle on the two layers. Add the layer Style > race for the two rectangles. Adjust a layer to have 50% fill and the other to have 50% opacity.

  • Order of the layers in the layers panel

    Hello

I'm a bit confused by something on the layers panel in artificial intelligence. On page 174 of 'bright' Illustrator CS4 by Steve Johnson, he says that "layers in the layers panel appear high in the bottom as they appear in the document window. The first layer at the top of the layers panel is the top layer of the document window. The last layer in the layers panel is the bottom layer in the document window.

    This seems clear enough.

However, when I created 3 forms on board graphics and created 2 new layers and put each shape on it's own layer, I find that the top layer in the layers panel is layer 3 ls and is actually the bottom layer of the document window, and the bottom layer in the layers panel is layer 1 which is the top layer of the document window. This seems to be the reverse order to that described in the book. Or am I wrong interpret the layers?

Does anyone have ideas on this?

    Concerning

    Peter of Wit

    Hello

The concept of base layer is stacked on each other. First created means layer (1) with a single object will be entirely down and last layer created will be the top of the other.

As stacking books, first book will be completely down and the last book will be high.

  • Is it possible to copy all the layers in the layers panel and paste them in a new document?

The content of each layer will be different on each document so I don't want to copy. I have 12 documents to be used in a calendar and I want all the layers as well as their names and colors to be the same in each document. I already have all the pages designed and built, but personal information is to be added, and I want each of them to match all the others.

Basically, all I want to do is to copy the contents of the layers panel and past in each of the other documents.

I just create a page at the end of the document w / layers and on this page, add an item by layer. Also, if you have 15 layers, drag the small fifteen frames on the page and the layer icon to assign each image to another layer.

Then in the Pages panel menu, choose move Pages. Choose this 'page of layers' to move to your receiving document (another of your calendar documents), Destination: end of the Document.

The receiving document will get all the layers. Remove all items (15 views) on the extra page and the layers remain.

Next time you make a schedule, you should check the add-on for InDesign Calendar Wizard. You will cry all the time you wasted it making manually ;-(
