So for some reason that I turn on my laptop and it says to push control, alt, delete to protect my computer. He has never done this before. So I do and then he asks a user name and password. I never created either on my laptop. It won't let me on anything whatsoever and I was wondering if there is a way that you can change to actually get on everything? I bought this computer used and thought that I could substitute it some how and then get on and everything change. Help!

I recently turned on my laptop and my profile/account has not been recognized.
I recently turned on my laptop and my profile/account was not recognized during the startup of the computer toward the top, so a temporary account/profile is used instead. I did some work saved information on the computer using this temp-account profile. My regular account/profile has been recognized at every time since, but I was not able to find the location of the temp profile/account or the information stored when using this profile/account temporarily. The profile was not a guest account or an administrator account. That's only 2 accounts visible to me. There is only 1 account on the laptop so I actually disabled guest accounts.
the laptop is running windows vista

After the charge of the desktop, I get a white screen and can't do anything.
After the charge of the desktop, I get a white screan and can't do anything. It keeps loading of other programs with just the white screan. When I hit CTRL ALT DELETE, my office appeared then disappeared. What can I do?
Hi David,
You meet a white screen on startup.
Step 1: Check if the problem persists in safe mode
A description of the options to start in Windows XP Mode
Step 2: If the problem not in safe mode then put the computer to boot.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State
Note: follow step 4 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.
Hope this information helps.

Hello
No saving necessary data and re-installing Windows Vista might be the best option, but here
are a few others. You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd disk (best) or external
Drive USB enclosure and then backup to removable media such as CD, DVD or other USB drives.
Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.Or you can use a boot Ubuntu CD to back up data.
Use Ubuntu Live CD to backup files from your Windows computer dead
http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/use-Ubuntu-Live-CD-to-backup-files-from-your-dead-Windows-computer--------------------------------------------------------------
You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.A method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure) is CTRL +.
ALT + DELETE - Manager tasks and tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - and then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is available by
repeatedly tapping F8 as you start. CTRL + SHIFT + ESC also begins the Task Manager.First check this thread in case it is simple and if not to come back to this thread.
Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all patch is usually on a base hit or miss.
That there is no information on a black screen as it is on a blue screen just adds to the
Difficulty. Often using a restore point or Startup Repair will have no effect. You can try a

Whenever I have turn off my laptop and turn it back on, all my data disappears.
I'm using a thinkpad notebook issued by school (lenovo R400) that uses Windows Vista. I know almost nothing about computers, but a couple of my friends know a little, and none of them were able to help me. Every time (it happened three times) I turned off my laptop in the last three months or so, I turn it back on and everything disappeared. I downloaded programs, backgrounds, music, documents, photos, videos - all of this. Now, I checked the recycling bin, so I know that it has not been deleted. Also, if I check what has changed recently, I can recover some of them. I usually just let my laptop to sleep, so I turn rarely completely off. The first time it happened, there were just two Documents folders, two folders of music, etc. The next time it happened, they disappeared, but they have either finally came on their own after a few days, or me just messing them back. As I am currently in College, it is very important that I can access everything I could have written this year. It is a big problem for me, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
