WMP11 Burns is no longer my CD.

People-

I keep my current software with all updates. I run Vista Home Premium SP2. Lately when I go to burn a music CD, I get the following error:

Windows Media Player could not complete burning because the disc is not compatible with your drive. Try to insert another type of recordable media or use a disc that supports a write speed that is compatible with your drive.

It makes no sense to me. I use he same CD - R media, I have always used. I ran diagnosics against my Matshita UJ DVDRWBD-110 ATA drive and it's OK. The device driver is unchanged and the most recent available.

The only thing I've done recently is upgrading to Windows Live Essentials 2011.

Any help to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Hello PAGARYMAC,

In addition to Diana's response, please provide the make and model of your PC. Also, the problem does not occur with other DVD burning software, try to perform a clean boot as suggested above, to check if a background program may interfere. You can also check with the manufacturer of PC or DVD player for an update of the possible firmware for the DVD drive, and then check if the problem persists.

I hope this information is useful.

Thank you

My drive HL-DT-ST CDRW/DVD GCC4244 on my Dell E1705 Burns is no longer the CD through Windows Media Player 11. It can read CDs fine.  My husband swapped our CD players.  He was able to burn a CD using my drive on his laptop computer, so that the reader is not serious.  I still couldn't burn a CD on my computer.  How can I fix this on my laptop?  Sounds like a software problem.

The only message I get is that WMP encountered a problem when writing on the CD.  When I have a link to online help, this window shows an unknown error of 80040155.

Recording speed was at 1 X; WMP only worked; Blank CD (I tried several) was clean and dust free.

The tool Fixit told me that the CD was not able to write to the media.  Excuse me, but he was able to write to the media at the same time.  The disc had written to the media when it was to pass to the laptop of my husband.

The driver on both our laptops is identical, so we knew that the problem is not with it.  I also downloaded free CD burning software and was able to write on a CD.  The problem had to be Windows Media Player.

I found myself back out Windows Media Player 11.  WMP 10, I could write on a CD.  After letting the WMP update to release 11, I can now write on CD.  Something in WMP 11 had been corrupted.

I recorded an audio live music of the about 3 long hours in a machine of digital voice recorder and I wanted to burn it to an audio CD but would not allow me because it too long.

Audio CDs (music) are rendered based on the length... you have reached
the limit for an Audio CD.

Data CD are limited only by the size of the file. If the size of the file in your record of 3 hours
does not exceed the limits of the CDs you can burn all on
a single data CD. If the record is a MP3 player or if you could convert to
an MP3... some CD players are compatible with MP3 files.

    Hi Paul_H_R,

Even after installing the drivers using Windows update, drive is not recognized as DVD player I suggest you physically check the disc to be sure it's a DVD player, see also the manual.

You can also check with the manufacturer of the drive to ensure that the most current drivers are installed.

  • Windows 8: LG BH10LS30 Blu - Ray burner is no longer visible

    Hi people
After an upgrade if not smooth from Windows 7 to Windows 8 (64-bit), my burner LG BH10LS30 Blu - Ray (SATA) is visible in the BIOS but not at all in the window 8.
There is an update of the firmware of LG November, but they advise applying it if the disc is not visible in windows. The drive is SATA in IDE PIO 4 mode (I tried changing the PIO and DMA settings without result).
    Everything else is great!

I have the same problem. Try this:

Insert the installation DVD of Windows 8 in the Blu - Ray drive, and then restart (leaving the disc in the drive!). Once you start in Windows 8, go my computer and you should see your Blu - Ray player. However, as soon as you remove it the disc disappears back into work but re - post will appear if you insert another disc. If you start with the Windows 8 disc, you can use your Blu - Ray player as usual. If you start with the blank disc or another disc, then the Blu - Ray player will remain invisible and useless no matter what disk insert you! Very annoying and it must be a bug - Microsoft, can we please have an update to fix this problem? It happens to a lot of people.

  • SD-R5372 will not burn DVD - bad format of DVD appears

Hi, recently I had problems with my Toshiba CD / DVD-burning device SD-R5372: I can still burn CDs but DVD burning is no longer possible, without worrying if I want to burn data, mp3, movies...

The "wrong DVD format" message keeps popping up, even if I use the same blank DVDs than ever. I tried a few other blank DVDs, but it still does not work.

What could be the problem? I may need a driver updated? Unfortunately, I can't find it on the Toshiba site or on the internet.

    Thanks for the help!

    Hello

According to the description of your problem, it seems that the question of calibrating lenses.
In my view, the drive cannot calibrate the lens in the right position and that's why the drive can't handle the DVD!
Sorry to say, but this is a case value and especially the replacement of the part could help :(

May I ask what burning software do you use?
I noticed a few problems with the Sonic Software. I used Sonic and Nero together and this mixture has been a bad influence on reading and writing.

Then try to remove the Sonic program and use a single burning software!

    Have a nice day ;)

  • A few different questions with Satellite A80 116

    Hello

I'm having strange problems with my recently bought A80 - 116. I bought this computer in Germany a month ago, and problems seem to be showed up quickly after I received it.
    1. when the computer begins to start suddenly just for some reason, the hard drive light flashes and in light of the end, just burn for a long time. The system also is not responding to Ctrl-Alt-Delete. Then I push the power button for a long time, turn off the system. After this system tries to start almost in the same way, but Toshiba welcome screen disappeared and then spring Marvell Yukon bios messages that say that certain errors occur, and I need to check the cable.
    2. when I turned off quick boot in the BIOS, messages about control memory appeared, and stopped just before messages about hard drive found. Message on the hard drive is sometimes present, after starting this system.
Often, this problem appeared when recharging from a State of hibernation system.
    3. the system often does not recharge after sleep. It seems that the system is hang-ups or blue screen.

My suggestions were that the problem may be in the old BIOS 1.50, but I upgraded to 1.70 and steel of problem persists.
Another suggestion is that some problems may be in drive hard or network card.
    I'm waiting for practical assistance.

    Thank you
    SergK.

    Hi Sergey

I think you have a problem with your hard drive and you should contact the service.

The errors you get from Marvell Yukon - which is the network card - is just the information that the PC has attempted to boot from LAN, but he can't do it because maybe the most basic check - the one that a netcable is connected - failed. Don't think too much about now because it is not very related to your problem more that it shows that the PC has try devices more bootable can indicate hard disk problems.

I spend more time trying to locate the problem, everything you describe was told there is an intermittent problem with the hard drive.

    Good luck

    Tom

  • CO5110Y BIOS will not allow edits LAN or video BIOS version 5.38

    Hello

I have a Compaq CQ5110Y with BIOS version 5.38. My problem is that I need to disable the LAN chip on board. My current BIOS will record the changes to the date and time, but it seems that it will not save the changes to the ADVANCED tab. I added a PCIe-16 video card. I tried to change the parameter by default-PCI PCIe - 16, and it will not save those or the other. I downloaded the update of BIOS 5.49 and tried to install it. I get an error message indicating that my computer does not meet the minimum requirements for this update. I replaced the original CD/DVD burner, as he would burn is no longer. I've also upgraded to 4 GB memory main. I can't find the older BIOS updates to try. No info found on the HP site regarding BIOS updates history and that they aimed to correct.

On each startup, I get a message saying the BIOS defaults have been loaded due to a problem of error or check sum. Is there a BIOS update to fix this problem? If so, which version is, and where I can get it?

    It is a strange.

Here's a guide that will explain the error code 9994.  I don't know if it will help you, but it's worth a try.

You can create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and replace the file, but it may be easier for you to make boot CD of a Hren.

When you start the Hiren's CD, choose the XP Mode of Mini and it has an interface in XP style Explorer where you can find and replace the winlogon.exe suspicious or missing file.

There should be a copy of winlogon.exe here:

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

Rename your current c:\windows\system32\winlogon.exe file (if it exists) and copy / paste the replacement of c:\windows\system32\dllcache.  If you do not see here, search your HARD drive and find one.  Another possibility (depending on your environment) is c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386, or c:\i386 d:\i386...

You just need to replace the file winlogon.exe somehow.

When you are finished replacing, restart as usual (remove the CD bootable of course).

With the help of Hiren, you can also copy offshore on an external device (USB key or HARD drive), all personal security files.

Do you have a Hiren BootCD you can download here:

    http://www.hirensbootcd.NET/

On the left, click on download, scroll down, choose the latest version, the download link is a little hard to see.  It is at the bottom of the page, above the drop for older versions and looks like this (click this component to download the ZIP file):

Direct HTTP mirror + Torrent, Torrent Magnet

Click the "Live HTTP Mirror" link to start the download and save the ZIP file on your desktop of somewhere that you can remember.

The ZIP file is large, so the download will take probably some time to complete.  Then unzip the download to extract the Hirens.BootCD.ISO file that will be used to create your new bootable CD.

Create a bootable CD. ISO file is not the same as simply copying the. File ISO onto a blank CD.  You must use software that includes how to burn a. ISO to a CD to create a bootable CD.

File ZIP the Hiren is the file BurnToCD.cmd that you can double-click to launch it.  The BurnToCD.cmd will use the file BurnCDCC.exe to burn the. ISO file onto a blank CD using your existing CD burner.  You can also use your own burning software as long as your software is able to create a bootable CD. ISO file.  More modern burning programs can create a bootable CD. ISO image.  Create a CD from an ISO image bootable is not the same as just the file on a CD burning.

If you need a simple and CD burning, this is a free software popular software:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your new bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.

These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When starting on the Hiren's CD, you will see a menu of options.  Choose Mini XP.  It will appear while Windows is loading and you will be presented with a desktop computer that has the look and feel of the interface of Windows Explorer, you are already accustomed to using.

Using the Mini XP, you can access Internet, maneuvering around your system, search for files, copy files, replace the files and run the scans for malware, edit the text files (like the c:\boot.ini) etc.

There are dozens of free and useful tools included in the CD that can be used to repair your system or copy your important personal files on another device (like a USB device or an external drive) in the case where you just give up and decide to reinstall your XP (I hope that you will not make this decision).

Do, or do not. There is no test.
