Satellite A200 (PSAE3E)

Hello

First of all, it would be interesting to know if you have already tried to reinstall the operating system on this laptop.
I want to say that these two issues could be related to software problems

The windows OS should receive and install Microsoft update without worries, and if this is not possible a software problem is possible.

I put t know if some important system files are confusing upward or if a register issues causes bother but I m sure that Vista should receive patches and updates correctly after reinstalling again.

Therefore, it would be desirable to test this! Before you start the recovery procedure to backup your important data!

Good luck

    Hello

I have a problem with my screen is damage.
Now my question is what is compatible with my laptop so that I can find another that is compatible with my laptop.
I didn't ask Toshiba how much it is for a new screen.

    PSAE3 A200
    Model number: PSAE3E

So, I hope that someone can help me.

    Hello

The laptop has been equipped with a 15.4 "widescreen XGA display. Is this good?
In my opinion, you can use most 15.4 screens in this model of laptop A200.
You can also order such screen partner of service authorized in your country.
They should be able to provide all the compatible parts.

But note; the internal screen for laptop is one of the most expensive parts of portable. This replacement can be really expensive.

I have a portable Satellite P200 4 months old. I have the following problems:

The Realtek speakers do not work. In Device Manager all working correctly but the icon at the bottom of the taskbar indicates that no audio output device is installed.

I also have a sticky space

The computer guard deciding I want to 'drop' a program running in the taskbar, is frequent games (it goes again the space bar)

    Hello Andrew

Before starting the discussion on these two issues, it will be interesting to know if your laptop is preinstalled with image of recovery provided by Toshiba. It is very important because image is put to the test and everything should work fine.

  • Two questions with Satellite A300-18

Well, I have a Toshiba A300-18 and when I use it for a long time, about five hours, for example, the programs seem to "freeze" and I can't work on it or open up new. Another problem is when I try to stop the laptop because the screen turns off but the lights remain and the computer didn't stop and rest as it until what I stopped it manually with the button WORKS. I tried to recover the factory values, but it stills equal.

(Sorry for my English, I'm Portuguese)

    > when I use it for a long time, about five hours, for example, the programs seem to "freeze" and I can't work on it or open new ones.
It sounds like the laptop could freezes due to a higher internal temperature.
The high temperature could affect the functionality of memory and it would lead to this issue.
Please check if the vents are free of charge and ensure that there is enough free space around the laptop to ensure good air circulation.

Conversely, the temperature can arise at a critical level if n t cooling modules work as it should in this case the technician must check the laptop!

The second questions (the screen became black) could be resolved by the BIOS updated.
So check to see if a BIOS update is available and if it is possible

    Best regards and good luck

    Hello

    > The switch turns on only if I plug the laptop
What you plug in? Do you mean the AC/DC adapter?
If so does that mean you can only start Notepad with AC/DC adapter?

    > When starting, I get a message. Insert the media. So what I do is insert a DVD into the CD drive. The movie will then play. I then turns off the computer and then open it again to windows xp start.
    It's a bit confusing
When you get the message insert media?
And why you must restart the laptop to boot XP if you can play a movie before?

Boyfriend sorry but it's really hard to understand. You should try to explain it in clear words and other phrases.

  • Two questions with Satellite A660-12th

    Hello

I'm afraid that my English isn't the best but I think in English I get more answers, the German replies are alo ok.

I have two problems, perhaps they are connected somehow.

The first problem is that my laptop heats verry. In Windows 7 there are three options of different energies (maybe you still know) one is performance-based, so it is very hot. The second is called balanced and the third is energy saving and heat not verry, but the performance is bad. The heat is not the main problem.

The main problem is a blue screen error that happens all by working or playing sometimes :) with graphics intensive programs of verry / games. This error is much more often in the first mentioned that in the energy saving mode. I thought that it is overheating, but would then a blue screen and after blue screen the system starts new imidiately and works as ever for the next 10 minutes, if I closed the laptop and let it cool down work much more time or sometimes gets not even blue screen crash.
Here is the original message as germen, I tried to translate a bit litle.

    Thank you.

I tried to send a German response, but the forum stopped me to do. It's the same answer in German: http://pastebin.com/3tLgyi0E

English: your problem certainly seems to be overheating of the device due to stress on the graphic chipset. Go through the basic troubleshooting steps first. Make sure you have all available Windows updates installed and the latest drivers for your hardware, you can find. If the laptop still has a valid warranty, consider contacting Toshiba to make it fixed.

Depending on how old your laptop is, you may have a problem of dust. Accumulation of dust and mud inside the laptop can prevent proper cooling, causing overheating you encounter. Consider to remove the bottom panel of the unit and spray compressed air into the radiators and fans to clean all the dirt. You can use software like SpeedFan to monitor indicators of temperature inside your laptop too.

Failing that, you can consider buying a laptop external cooler. It is a basic specialized laptop sits on to keep cool during periods of intensive treatment. Most have an extra fan that really helps to dissipate the heat.

  • Two questions with Satellite A60-201

I have this laptop from my uncle and he didn t gave me a cd or a book to him. Could someone help me please to find the drivers for it?
And I have another problem. Even I support with coolers under him, he still heat stopped himself.

    Could someone help me please?

    Hello

Drivers, tools and utilities for this model mobile, you can find on Toshiba support page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads.
It is important to choose an ARCHIVE under product type.

Second problem (overheating) is specific to all the old models of laptops. You have to imagine that a lot of dust is absorbed in the notebook and all that dust will block the cooling rack. The cooling module will try to cool the material, and the result can be permanent and fast cooling fan running.
If the laptop cannot be cooled correctly the temperature of the material can reach the critical level and notebook will stop.

This problem can be solved simply laptop must be disassembled and cleaned.

    Hello
I am a real novice with this stuff so please bear with me and my stupid questions.

    I have a Satellite A200 PSAE3A - 07M 007. I got no upgrade at all.
It has only 1 GB of RAM. It's so slow its driving me crazy.

Cannot afford the new PC. Can I spend it?
What I have to buy. I'm a little afraid to go to someone right now because they could tell me anything and I would believe it!

    Thank you

    Nice

    Hi mate

According to the info I found [here | http://www.computerdirect.co.nz/products/NOTTOS429.pdf] the memory of the Satellite A200 PSAE3A - 07 M 007 can scale up to 2 GB of RAM.
This means that you can buy another 1 GB RAM module (1 GB RAM PC2-5300 memory module) in order to improve this device.

The upgrade is not very difficult.

  • Satellite A200 PSAE3: Windows XP Home edition do not recognize the modem and sound card

    Hi all!

I can't understand what is the problem with my Satellite A200 (PSAE3)... I downloaded all the files on the right of the Toshiba Download Center, updated the BIOS to WXP but XP still not find any sound card or any modem. He isn't finding a device with a "?" question mark on this...

There are so many different drives, I tried, but no one has changed the situation...
    Anyone has any advice?

    Thanks in advance,

    ciroopi

Well, I found the solution to the problem! :)

so, I write these verses down for anyone who might know the same problems:

as usual, strictly follow the 'Toshiba A200 Installation sequence' found on the TOshiba driver download page.
as he [I jumped no useful installation programs]

I advice restart you each time you install a component, in order to have under control the whole Exchange.

    1 Windows XP Service Pack2 (RTM) - of course ;) -.
    [...]
    DirectX V9.0c 5 (SP2)
    Windows Media Player 10 V10.00.00.4036 6
    [...]
    10 Microsoft .NET Framework V1.1.4322 (SR1)
    11 Sun Java 2 Runtime Environment V1.6.0
    12 Intel ICH8M Chipset utility V8.2.0.1014
    13 Intel VGA driver 6.14.10.4833 965GM

Note that driver VGA, the ATI we too, was also a difficulty - in fact, I don't know what it would have done - for the AUDIO sound card.
You may have read in the installation dialog box.

Moreover, I do not know if you must install the sun java, .NET framework and WMP version that displays the list, versions that are OLDER than the most recent, but just to be sure, download the form versions THAT NET.

at this point, you should see "unknown PCI device" in the unknown devices in the system control panel.

    14 Realtek ALC268 Audio Driver V5.10.0.5433

for realtek, I suggest you download the driver from the zip from the realtek download page; Once extracted from the latest version for desktop or a temp directory, I suggest to install before all the patch KB888111 you might find in the \WDM_Rxxx\MSHDQFE.

    then restart.

for now, you should not see the "unknown PCI device" no more where it was before, but under the "system devices", like her, where you could also end the "Intel PCI Express Root Port", "Pci Bus" and so on [ja? m saying this to you because ja? m Italian aid of XP, and I don't remember the exact English names...].

Now, install the audio drivers by using the setup.exe that you find in the \WDM_Rxxx directory.
It should reinstall the kbfix and install the new drivers.

    Reset.

After the reboot, nothing happens, but...

.. see the "unknown pci device" menu - here? m not sure the name but the one with the exclamation mark in the 'system devices' - select 'Properties' and then 'driver' and 'update driver'. Let XP find the NOT on the net. tell XP to look for "Video and Audio Controller, game" [you know, the English entry that usually stands for device audio and similar] and he must find a CORRESPONDING driver, which is the "MICROSOFT UAA BUS DRIVER for HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO".
If XP don't select this driver by itself, you should look for "\windows\system32\DRIVERS\hdaudbus.sys".

After that, XP automatically detects ALL audio devices and install the correct drivers.
In addition, it now the entrance to the modem, modem to install the separate driver, that we could find in down in the "list system", like her, on the Toshiba download page.

    So, hope this helps!

    See you soon,.

  • Satellite A200 PSAE3: XP Setup can't find HARD disk drives

    Hello

I have laptop Satellite A200 PSAE3 and editing Vista Home premium 32-bit installed.

I want to fix it to dual boot with Windows XP.
But when I go to install XP, it says "SETUP has NOT FIND ALL DRIVES HARD INSTALLED in YOUR COMPUTER".

Please let me know what are the possible solutions to overcome this problem.

    Thank you

    Armelle

This problem can be solved very easily install the right driver SATA ;)

Yes, you must install a SATA driver to recognize the SATA HDD!

I did, is that your Win XP doesn't do not contains the latest SATA drivers that are necessary and important install the Windows operating system.

The Intel Matrix Storage Manager contains the SATA drivers for two different chipsets.
Visit the European driver from Toshiba or Intel page and download the Storage Manager!

You will need an external USB FDD drive to include this SATA driver in the installation of Win XP.
Maybe you remember that Setup during the installation process of Win XP Win XP request by pressing the F6 key to install a 3rd party SATA drivers.
You must connect the external floppy drive, and then you could install such SATA driver.

But perhaps the problem is the USB FDD drive.
To be honest I n t have such external floppy drive unit and so I had to include the SATA driver using another solution.

I used the * program nLite. It s for free and may be required from the internet. Google simply.
You can use this application to create a new XP CD with SATA driver. Then you could start from this new CD to install XP on your machine.

    I did and I managed

Bye and have a nice day buddy ;)

  • Satellite A200 PSAE3A - where to find the XP SATA driver

    Hello

I'm going through many discussions here
    (for example, http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=25749)

But I can not all drivers referred to work, I lived about three downloads.

I'm working on an A200 PSAE3A - 07M 007, a teacher who have requested to be downgraded to XP so that school software can work on it.

I also looked at the Intel site, trying to find out which Chipset Intel is on this laptop, they said to go into the Device Manager, expand System devices and look for the Intel channel, here is what I found:

    Intel (r) 82801 PCI Bridge - 2448
    Intel(r) 82802 Firmware Hub Device
    Intel(r) ICH8 Family PCI Express Root Port 1 - 283F
    Intel(r) ICH8 Family PCI Express Root Port 2 - 2841
    Intel(r) ICH8 Family PCI Express Root Port 3 - 2843
    Intel(r) ICH8 Family PCI Express Root Port 4 - 2845

    Intel(r) ICH8 Family SMBus Controller - 283E
    Mobile Intel (r) PM965 / GM965 / GL960 Express Processor to DRAM Controller - 2A 00

As you can see, it's hard to tell which is the right one and find the right driver for the drive SATA is painful.

Anyone here know what I should download to put on my external floppy drive so that when I hit F6 during installation of Xp professional, it will actually fill?
