U2414H Rev. A01 Power Saving issue, use CCC V13.251

This is by far the worst monitor I've ever bought. After reading all of the horrible experience, everyone crossed now all make sense. The monitor doesn't come with a mini dp to dp cable, and to my surprise, it is absolutely useless. I spent all night trying to make it work, and he always stuck on the energy saving mode and even with HDMI. After fighting with him for hours, finally got it work less than 24 hours, I reboot and once, with dp cable it is stuck in power saving mode. It is absolutely rubbish! It's incredible that Dell continues to sell such shameful product and pretend that the problem does not exist. I would like an answer from Dell or anyone affiliated with Dell regarding this issue. This is very unacceptable!

I managed to solve the problem myself, for now. Sorry to act on impulse and be rude about the situation. And the monitor has not buy directly from Dell, I bought it from an authorized dealer.

After days of DIY autour with it, I think it's the problems driver GPU. My current setup is Windows 7 Pro with Sapphire Radeon R9 280 OC with Boost and ran on CCC V14.44, and it gave me so much trouble then. I decided to connect the monitor to a Radeon 7850 GPU with CCC V13.1 and it works beautifully.  Then it made me think back on the driver for the possible vesrion earlier. And low and behold... DP now works without problem. Now I'm under V13.251 CCC of Sapphire. For those who use the same problem as me, try using the driver that is shipped with the GPU, GPU AMD it just might work for you, because it worked for me.

And since I can't take my rudeness, I'm sorry to be so hasty on my end and blame everything on Dell. I will definitely buy a couple more this monitor, as is a large monitor to research.

    Hello

What performance maximum CPU you have for the power saving mode? Check the Windows power management settings: start > Control Panel > Power Options.

The plan for the power saving mode settings and make sure that the maximum performance of the CPU is at 100% for the power saving mode. This increases the performance of the computer.

  • U2414H randomly turning power on and off

    Hello

I bought my U2414H (Rev.) A00) in March 2014 and after a few days he began to morph randomly, sometimes for a few hours. Sometimes days would pass without it switched off voltage, but most of the time the screen turns off during the night, while in stand by. I know that it is a common problem with the U2414H and I want to know if Dell has found a solution to this problem other than the monitor. I love the photo of this unit and I would not return, especially knowing that I get a refurbished.

    Thank you!

I can't speak for the other actions of countries. I know that in the USA, all stock A01 (cut into date 18/03/2014) should be fixed for that matter. You will need to contact Dell Customer Service to your country to organize an exchange of monitor. Provide the following data =.

I'm sure it's just the screen as I can hit the power button and it seems closed, (it crashes out of sleep mode and I only managed to get it to go into hibernation, once with success (he complains that there there not enough wealth, but there a lot 33 GB of free hard disk! that's a lot to store 2 GB of ram) it is really annoying and I have yet) the laptop over a week!

    Hi Oliver

I read your messages carefully and I'm really a bit confused. As far as I know all the tools pre-installed on each unit of Toshiba are tested. Sleep mode and standby extended too and I can't really understand what is happening in your case.

The problem may be caused by the use of some third-party software of the part. In my opinion, do not do some experiments with non-Toshiba (driver chipset or display) software, because the software is adapted to the architecture of the unit and equipment.

  • Dell monitor U2715H Power saving mode by turning on PC

Hi, I had a constant, frustrating problem with my Dell U2715H monitor. I connect it to my PC using CDM, and absolutely 100% whenever I turn on my pc, it goes into power saving mode. The only way to get my computer is to force power off of my PC now the power button and then turning it back on. This recovers no mode 'sleep', but an engine out of State. I tried to turn on/off the screen first, wait a minute then turn the PC. I tried to use the usb mouse and keyboard only to the back of the computer and not on the monitor ports. I tried all of the solutions presented to me in the troubleshooting of energy saving guide, but I am completely off options and frustrated. I don't want to force shutdown my PC every day just to get the monitor to work.

Please help with the troubleshooting methods that I could take to solve this problem.

I really love this monitor otherwise and won't have to return it.

WOW! I just talked to a dell technician who accompanied me through the question. Apparently, the problem is known and has been placed on the record. The workaround is desperately single.

To resolve this problem, click the first button on your screen, then press the second button to access the "input select" menu of the monitor. Then, place the cursor on the entry that you use (for me it was the CDM) and hold the button of checkmark for 10 seconds. A dialog appears asking you to turn on/off 1.2 DP. Once you enable it, the Monitor refreshes and the issue is history.

I guess that the monitor has some secrets, I don't know... Hope this helps someone out there with this problem.

  • my printer does not close power saving mode

I have a OfficeJet 4500 wireless and when he's asleep he goes into power saving mode.

When I try to print it does not print and I can't turn it off, the power button is unable to work.  I have to unplug the printer, then restart it to return to normal.

We will set an IP address of the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). You can find the beach DHCP from the router using its internal settings page or in its manual. Use the CD that came with your router or type the IP address of the router (ends para.1) in a browser.
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the bridge and the first DNS. Let the second white.
    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that, you will have to redo 'Add printer' using the new IP address.

  • My laptop goes into power saving mode after one minute. Someone knows why?

It's just started happening yesterday. I use a Toshiba laptop and out of nowhere, my PC goes in power saving mode after one minute when ALL my settings for this mode is 30 minutes. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Hi MattLipkint,

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. When was the last time it was working fine?
    3. You have security software installed on the computer?

    Method 1

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See section to learn more about how to clean boot.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Reset the computer to start as usual

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    (a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    (d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

    Method 2

If the previous step fails then I would suggest that you update the display adapter drivers, basic input/output system (BIOS) and motherboard chipset drivers.

Important: Change (CMOS) BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

  • Computer runs continuously check disk and automatically goes into power saving mode.

2 days ago my computer was working fine, then yesterday he wanted to run the check disk at startup upward. Finished, he found no errors and proceeded to vista loading which then stated that he was going to power saving mode, the screen went black and clear screen turned yellow. Now he wants to run the check disk on every restart and ends with her past in power saving mode. I've only got 1 successful start since this all started. I tried to start in safe mode but it freezes. I also tried to boot to the last known configuration but that only prompted an another disk check and ended just as vain as other attempts. The hard drive is only a year so it should not be failing already. I don't know what I should try. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Hello

    1. have you made changes on the computer recently?

    2. What is the brand and model of the computer?

    Method 1.

Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator.

The correct way to disable CHKDSK to start use the on command chkntfs /x switch in command prompt. The /x switch will exclude a verification by default startup car. If you have drive C: as your hard drive, then the command to disable chkdsk C: drive analysis would be:

    chkntfs /x c:

If you have 2 drives C and D, you can disable chkdsk with the command below

    chkntfs /x c: d:

    So go ahead and restart.

    Registry warning

To do: Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. How to back up and restore the registry in Windows

Here are the steps to disable checkdisk at startup.

1 - click on the 'Start' menu of Windows on the desktop and click on "Search" (Windows Vista or 7).

    2. Type "regedit" in the search box and press 'Enter' to start recording.

3 - Click on '+' in the folder 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE' to develop. Click on the 'SYSTEM' folder and click on the folder "CurrentControlSet". Click on the 'Control' folder and then click on the "Session Manager" folder.

4 double click on 'BootExecute' on the right pane. You should see the default value of the key defined as autocheck autochk * (with asterisk). The asterisk (*) means that the Windows controls every drive for consistency. Add "/ K:C" at the end of the autocheck autochk * after the addition, the final value should look like this: autocheck autochk / k: C *.

5 - Click on "file" and click "Exit" to close the damper. Restart your computer. The disk check is no longer lance to the computer startup.
