  Anyone know how to get a new existing product key of windows XP Professional 32-bit OS? (my key has reached the max limit).

  Please HELP URGENTLY if youi can as I have now just 1 day left to activate (& risk losing all my work in the last days where I reformatted and reloaded all programs, etc.). Really, I don't want to not upgrade to windows 7 (already tried) until I absolutely have to also really enjoy windows xp prof os - but complete support & can't buy more then? Download the new key or extend my use of existing key?

  There is no such thing as a "max usage limit" (other than to be in use on a single computer at a time) for a Windows XP product key.

  There is no limit to the number of times where you can reinstall and activate the same license of Windows XP on the same PC.  Is never a charge.  No more than a product key (as long as it is not an evaluation license) never expire.  If it's been more than 120 days you finally turned on this specific product key, you will probably be able to activate via the Internet without problem.  If it was less, you may need to do a five minute phone call.

  Dell provided you with restore/recovery media and/or a way to restore the machine 'default' as a key sequence?  If so - you won't need the number--unless they just sent a DVD of Windows 7 nu - and they are usually not unless you ask.

  They have probably installed using their key, which means that even with a utility like Belarc Advisor or ProduKey - you will not get the product key that matches the one on the sticker.

  Some may have you take several different digital pictures of the sticker from different angles and see if you can decipher the missing characters like that (you'd be surprised to see how that works).

  Maybe it sounds silly now but this sticker is useless. It just proves that you have obtained the valid product key with your recovery image. I have the recovery image, because this product key is the version of the OS that you got with your laptop.
  You have the original installation disc of recovery? If yes you don't need the key because the recovery image can be installed to 1000 times and each time preinstalled version will be activated properly.

  With other words, no one will send you the key that you got on the sticker. The product key is implemented in original recovery image and cannot be used in case you want to enable another version of the Microsoft OS.
