U330 Touch sensitive media buttons

Hello! I use an ideapad U330 and I like it so far. However, is anyway I can make the touch sensitive buttons (those above the function keys) work with iTunes instead of Windows Media Player? I do not use the player for a large part of what. Thank you all!

You can use SharpKeys software to adjust the sensor keys.

If WMP again convened the press Rename you sohuld is *.exe file and it will stop.

    SAL :)

    Hello Sal

I played around with this stuff and here is my opinion on this subject.

    (1) as far as I know there is nothing strange. I noticed the same thing on notebooks too. For example, if you want to listen to music, you can simply press PLAYER button (3rd from left) and begins at will for laptop and open windows media player. If you want to go on the internet you can simply press INTERNET ((deuxieme button on the left). Laptop will be put into construction and Internet Explore will be open.
So there is nothing strange, and even get on my Satellite P200 and brand-new Satellite A300.
To be honest I don't know if this can be disabled. I'll ask a friend of mine. It is monster of Toshiba and maybe he knows more about it. But this behavior is certainly not strange.

If you want to use only the power button and then press power button to start. Do not touch the other.

    (2) Please check s operating manuals and look for info on this button. AFAIK it is clearly written Mute or LED on / off depending on the model you purchased, press this button to mute the sound or turn on or off the illumination of the logo of the brand, touchpad and buttons.
So please do not mix anything. This button has no two options. On your model, you can disable illumination only. It is the same on my laptop. So there is nothing wrong with your laptop.

    (3) you also misunderstood this feature. If face recognition is activated the two options will be displayed. If you do not want to enter a password you can use the option of face recognition. But what you will do if for some reason your face may not be identified correctly. How you want to connect?

So, please don't be irritated by these things, everything is OK.

  • Satellite P305-S8832 - media buttons do not work with Win7

    Hello friends, wise

I recently installed two new hard drives (500 GB 7200 RPM OS / 500 GB 5400 RPM DATA) and I did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit on my 3 1/2 Toshiba Satellite P305-S8832. Everything except the media buttons works well enough.

I downloaded the drivers from the Toshiba repository, including the installer of the Software for Windows 7 Toshiba and package valued Toshiba. These touch buttons above the keyboard and between the speakers still doesn't work, no light, no response, nothing. I checked the bios.

These buttons work out of the box with Ubuntu Linux, Windows XP and Windows Vista.

    Any advice?

    Hello

In General, the multimedia keys are controlled by VAP (value added package) and the buttons should work after the installation of VAP.

    Found the drivers here:
    [Satellite P305-S8832 drivers: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=2059997& rpn = PSPC0U & modelFilter = P305-S8832 & SelCategorie = 2756709 & selFamily = # 1073768663]

It seems that there is also a newer version of VAP.
Check other new series Sat P in order to get the latest version of VAP.
Also install the hardware installation. This tool allows you to customize your hardware parameters

  • Satellite E100-004 - can I disable media buttons as mute, play pause

My laptop is Toshiba Satellite E100-004.
is there a way disable the multimedia button panel (Media buttons on top of keyboard - mute-media-play/pause-stop-rewind-forward-)?

    thanx

    Hello

Please don't be crazy on my but I don't understand your question. These buttons are by default configured to run with pre-installed Windows media player. If you don't like them you just simply do not touch them.
I know that you can change the browser settings and the multimedia key and define which application should be open with these buttons.

In any case such option is unknown to me.
Why you want to disable these buttons?

    Hello Jonny

These buttons are controlled by the Toshiba button support utility and this utility is part of the package of added value. To be honest I don't know if there is way to toggle buttons features, but if you want you can try to follow:

Remove the system pre-installed VAP (Control Panel > programs and features), restart the computer and install the last PPV for your laptop model Toshiba Support page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads.

Please let me know if everything works well again.

  • G530 Touch sensitive volume control panel

After a quick reformat of my G530, touch sensitive volume control panel (four black circular buttons in the upper right above the keyboard) still works, but the volume buttons up/down is slow increments of 2%, while rectangular blue front sound bars showed on the screen when you press on and the noise increases by increments of 10%.

Where can I find the drivers for the touch sensitive volume control panel? I've looked everywhere but can't find them.

  • Satellite A100-727: how to change the config of media buttons?

Using TOSHIBA button controls, you can set the key features. If you have it installed you can find the TOSHIBA controls icon in the Panel.
You can also find if you open TOSHIBA help > Optimize.

  • Satellite A500-1EE (PSAR9E) media buttons are not lit in Fendora

I installed Fedora 16 on my Toshiba Satellite A500-1EE, part number PSAR9E, in replacement of Windows 7. Most of the stuff works very well, fortunately, except that the media buttons (play/pause, volume up/down, etc.) are not enlightened. It's frustrating because I often work in low light and simply can not see the button, which forces me to turn on the light every time I want to change the volume or move to the next song in my MP3 player.

The highlight was done with Windows 7 (running after starting Windows, but was extinguished during the boot process), so he's certainly not broken.

I tried with 16-32 & 64 bit Fedora and dreamlike Ubuntu 32 bit and I can't seem to find a way to turn on the light of media buttons, leading me to suspect is a Linux question nationally.

Is there a setting, tool or any other solution that would allow me to have my media buttons light on?

As you probably know for this lighting feature Toshiba designed little tool, this piece of software is designed for the Windows operating system only.
I also know that Toshiba doesn't support Linux, so there is none of these tools which runs on the Linux platform.

Have you tried to check some Linux forums and pick up the experiences of other experts in Linux.

    Hello

For these special buttons, you must install the tools of Toshiba. Did you check that?

On the Toshiba site I founded the document setup instructions for your laptop and XP. It is a list for recommended order of installation of drivers.
This means that you will also install Toshiba common Modules, Hotkey Utility, enabling/disabling Touchpad utility, utilities, etc.

  • Can satellite A505 - I configure media buttons?

    Hi all:

I have a question: is it possible to configure multimedia LED buttons "Play/Pause", "RW" and "FF" of my Satellite A505-S6965 to run a program?

I know it's possible to do it with the 'eco', the buttons "mute" using the program "Support of Toshiba Button" and the "quick start", but this program offers no option to configure the three buttons that I mentioned above.

If someone could help, I appreciate it very much, because I don't know where else research...

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Buddy,

You're already good. You can only configure the media buttons that you can find in the list of Toshiba button support.

But for game, RW, FF, etc keys it of not possible to configure them. You can use them in Windows Media Player for example. That s as comfortable! :)
