  I managed to install obiee 11g on my local machine and we're going forward to install it on the Dev server.

  What happens if we update or do something in the database that removes these patterns?
  
  Do we get scripts to recreate these schemas in the database if the worst happens without any installed OBIEE.

  These schemas will store all the metadata information related to your BI Application, as the app lifecycle, triggers, planners, etc.

  YES. OBIEE NOT start or run if these patterns are NOT running.

  What happens if we update or do something in the database that removes these patterns?
  Generally, these 2 patterns can not be updated directly by any user unless they really go to the tables and modify the data. These tables are accessed internally by BI Framework API. Most of the time, users change these data in tables. Only the SYS user can drop these schemes, unless other users have privileges SYS. In addition, these patterns can be created by user SYS to database (Admin). Except user/developer of normal real will not have access to these tables. He just need details to configure these worms this BI area for data sources.

  YES. There is a zip file giant big / utilitly called RCU (repository creation utility) that can be downloaded from the website of Oracle. Also, it has different versions for middleware (middleware) different. Like BI 11.5 will use RCU 11.5, 11.3 BI will use RCU 11.3 etc. Must match these versions. You download this large zip file, unzip it and run a batch file. He will ask you to SYS user/pwd db host, port, and sid. You can then select whether to CREATE / REMOVE patterns. Then you specify which product Middleware schemas as for BI (above 2 diagrams), SOA/BPM (about 3/4 patterns), WebCenter (some other patterns etc.). And finally he creates spaces for storage, users, tables, functions, StoreProcs etc etc etc. Therefore, we have details SYS to run command RCU.

• HFM 11.1.2.4 Linux Exalytics and Linux 11.1.1.7/9 ODI

  We have installed HFM 11.1.2.4 on Linux on our Exalytics server, supporting now.

  We have ODI 11.1.1.7 installed on Linux in our work environment and ODI absolutely perfect with our tools such as Essbase. ... And other planning.

  On the Installation and configuration, we found that ODI 11.1.1.7 or 11.1.1.9 on Linux is not supporting HFM Exalytics Linux.Please let us know if there is an ETA for this availability...

  More research, we found that 11 ODI on Windows does not HFM 11.1.2.4 on Linux support and both must be on the same server.

  Then we spent at HFM 11.1.2.4 and 11 ODI on windows and found 11 ODI not supported for HFM 11.1.2.4 which is really confusing... to correct us if this isn't right...

  We cannot have EPMA or FDM in our environment... We have worked on these tools wrt POC and concluded that they do not fit in our needs.

  We have the DRM in place and works effectively with Oracle DB so we use ODI for the mapping between Oracle DB as source and EMP as target also vice versa.

  Please let us know if HFM can be directly connected to the DRM and vice versa for the management of metadata... Thanks in advance.

  I think you should focus on most of the questions to the Oracle espeically if you want an ETA.

  ODI knowledge modules exist for HFM 11.1.2.4 not and will not, if you are looking for integration then maybe look at FDMEE

  As a point of Contact for my client, we need to install OBIEE 11.1.1.7 under Windows, but we are not allowed to install Oracle database on Windows (very strict regulation of the client) machine.

  My question is if possible install OBIEE 11.1.1.7 (server, Installation of the company) on Windows 2008 (R2 Standard 64-bit SP1) and use as a support for (UCR and everything, including data dashboards) Oracle database (11 g) installed on a Linux machine?

  As long that you can reach this DB OBIEE server it's OK.

  In addition, you can run the RCU to any other box as well (or the box of OBIEE).

  Same 11.1.2.3 does not yet support IE10, until the arrival of the PSU.

  Do not mix the UCR and 11g.
  RCU creates db schema, you can use any db for this box. Assuming you've got db on Linux using Windows create a schema RCU pointing to DB@Linux.
  Install 11g on Linux and use the same pattern of the UCR.

  You can get all the tables, that all you have in the two schemas.

  IAM new product oracle and my self very fresh to the world of tools and oracle, when I did a little research on the package tools, I found Webcenter as an interesting tool and liked to hear. With the support of Mr YannicK Ongena I learn some concept and through some possible configuration but once all the setup I have query below, and mistook them... Now am not able to satisfy the Webcenter.
  
  I have a query, the developer should be installed the requirements.
  JDeveloper and database or something there.
  
  In the current configuration * I installed.
  WebLogic
  Database
  RCU
  JVM
  WebCenter Suite.
  
  As mentioned above this two configurations are different methods or should I install Jdeveloper with the current configuration?
  
  I'm confused a lot with the current configuration.
  
  If the Jdeveloper and adjustment of the current methods are to different then the one who will be recommended by the guide of environment pl in time real me on this.
  
  If possible help me with a better discription learn how Webcenter.

  Best place to discuss these things on my blog :)

  First of all, you should look at the requirements. Depending on whether you need to decide what to use:
  (1) Portal of the WebCenter which is a completely customizable to environment in place your portal from scratch. This is done by using JDeveloper. If you want a WebCenter portal, you need not install the suite WebCenter full with the data base and the UCR and so on. You should only install WebLogic with Webcenter libraries. However, if you want to use services such as blog, wiki, documents, debates and so on, you will need to install the suite with an oracle DB and run the RCU to create repositories.

  (2) WebCenter spaces. This environment is installed when you install webcenter suite. This is the managed server WC_Spaces. It is a collaborative environment that requires no JDeveloper. You should only use JDeveloper to extend the spaces by adding your custom taskflows and portlets.

  If in short to the requirements:
  (1) WebCenter Portal:
  -JDeveloper
  -WebLogic + libraries WebCenter
  -Database at least the MDS repository (which can be created by the UCR)

  (2) the WebCenter spaces
  -WebLogic + WebCenter suite
  -Database at least the schema MDS and WebCenter (can be created by the regional coordination unit)

  If you want to learn how WebCenter, I recommend to learn early on. You don't need to go through the complete installation, process that can be difficult is you again for Oracle products.
  Just download JDeveloper studio edition: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/downloads/jdev11115-405165.html and install extensions WebCenter. If you do this, you can't even install a database and so on.
  With this configuration, you can easily create your own portal without coding a lot. An ideal way to learn the basics of the webcenter.

  Are you talking about using an external source to manage the sign on or just using common services to deal with.
  If you use shared services, you can integrate only with essbase 9.2 +.

  If you mean an external single sign on method and then take a look on:-http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/epm_security_11111.pdf
  Beginning on page 14 - Single Sign-on directly to the EPM system products
  Although I don't know if you would be able to integrate with essbase 7.1.5

  If you just want to use active directory to authenticate users against this would be possible.
