UK Satellite Pro M30 - download image recovery disk?

Hello

I have a SPM30 Pro Satellite that requires a re - install, but the user who lives 200 miles has not sent the recovery disc. Is there anywhere that I can download a CD from this image to facilitate the re - install a whole bunch. The machine is licensed to XP Professional.

TIA

Hello Aed

Installation of operating system using recovery media is very comfortable, but if you have not this CD is not the end of the world. You can install OS using the facilities of Microsoft CD. All the drivers, tools and utilities that you can download at Toshiba download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads.

Recovery image is not available for download. You can try to contact the service authorized in your country. Maybe they can order a recovery media for you.

  • Satellite Pro M30 - download drivers?

    Hello world

I hope someone is able to help me:

I tried to find the drivers for my laptop on this site here, given that my original CD with the top drivers is lost. I was able to get to the section pilots where I entered the serial number of my laptop. After that, I get redirected to a website, which appeared to store everything you need for the Toshiba Satellite Pro M30. Unfortunately, it didn't show the "loading circle', no matter which section, I tried to access (for example"manuals"or"drivers", etc.).
Then, I hit up the forums and read on 'archive', in which the drivers and other utilities for older, obsolete laptops are available. Unfortunately, this article was not available at all.
In addition, my research efforts on Google didn't get anywhere.
Could someone tell me what I have to do to get your hands on these drivers or, where there is not such an option, download me these drivers (for example on Megaupload.com) pack?
I would be forever indebted to anyone some.

    Thanks in advance!

This recovery is not understandable to me.
    What do you want exactly?

Is that each new Toshiba notebook comes with the image of HARD drive recovery and recovery disk must be created using the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.

By the way, can someone please explain why Toshiba offer all the necessary drivers for the operating system if they do not provide you with the operating system itself - i.e., they give you a disk image which has already drivers preinstalled on it... Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, unless you had to find your own copy of windows XP, which probably won't be not work with the serial key Toshiba windows XP first and then try and download and install each driver? I do not.

    Hello

I think that you have tried to order the recovery disk by using the online store of recovery site.
You will not be able to order using this service, because the only Vista recovery disc could be ordered using this service.

In your case, I would ask an ASP in your country for this disc.
And notes; There are more FSA in your country as only.

Then perhaps you should contact several service points.

  • Satellite Pro L10 - 135 no recovery disk, need to restore

    Hello

We have a Satellite Pro L10-135: Intel with Windows XP.

The laptop is a few years old and is full of spyware, my partner has also accidentally deleted some program files. I have removed all personal files and would like to completely reformat the unit as long as the plant.

But she lost the recovery CD. I tried to get them at Toshiba, but when I enter the serial number it says that its too old and the drive is not available. I also tried to find the Toshiba recovery disc creator, but on the menu start, is found instead it says Start > all programs > Toshiba > Networking or start > all programs > Toshiba > utilities.

I need the process to be fool-proof, because I'm not too confident with computers, so I would get a real restoration of Toshiba, rather than who to download drivers, etc..

Anyone know where I could buy or download the disc in the United Kingdom?

    Thank you very much.

It is always an issue with the old models of laptops, but what you can try is to contact the nearest Toshiba authorized service provider in your country and ask for help.
Maybe they have archived somewhere old recovery disc and can help you with this.

One last thing: very often, I see people offer on eBay recovery disks.
Check it out. Maybe you will be lucky and find the recovery for your model of laptop disk there.

    Hello

I lost the original CD that came with my computer.

Purchase of a new copy of Win XP is the only chance to reinstall the OS on my laptop or is there a place where I can find and download a copy of the original CD?
I still have my Microsoft product key, so I can show that I have an original copy of Win XP.

Thanks much for any help that you could give me.

    Kind regards

    Michele

    Hi Michele,

Sorry, but you can t download a Toshiba Recovery disk. If you have lost your CD, they come with Notepad, you will need to contact an authorized service provider for new disks.
On the Toshiba site, you can find a list of ASP. You can call them and e. g., they can sent you the disks.

You mean what Microsoft product key?
The product key on the underside of the laptop is an OEM key and belongs to the preinstalled Windows. The t can be used with a disk of Microsoft.

But I don't usually buy and I don't know if I can download it from any site?

    Hello

No, the Toshiba recovery disc can t be downloaded.
If your CD is zero or something else and don't work properly, you must buy a new one.

So, contact the nearest authorized service provider and request a recovery disk:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported downloads & => find an authorized service provider

Let me give you a piece of advice: before you order a recovery disc trying to format the HARD drive with a disc of Microsoft for example. Sometimes, this can help you if you have problems with the recovery disk.

Are there readers UK of this forum which could either sell me a spare copy that they have that they no longer need, or make a copy for me to their recovery CD (and, ideally, the tools & utility CD) for this laptop? I would of course pay.

You can order the recovery CD and all the other CD.
I don't know that it is not very expensive.

  • Toshiba Satellite Pro M30 & Power Saver stop error

    Hello!

I am struggling with this problem for months... the latest version of Eve on my toshiba satellite pro m30 running windows xp with service pack 1 installed gives a message box with an error message when the stop and I'm unable to eliminate this error. Unfortunately, I can't consider reinstall the system from scratch, because there are many other applications installed and I can't lose the settings for them. I read the forums and realized I'm not one of the problems with toshiba power saver. I'm even lucky to successfully at startup started it! Yet, it hangs at shutdown. It's pretty boring. also, I downloaded all the latest updates of this site for my laptop, including even the bios update.

I would like the opportunity to be able to download the version without toshiba this site energy saving bug, and I'm sure many other people would appreciate the patch too!

    any comment on that?

    Andrew.

    Hello

If your laptop is installed correctly it should work well. All the software has been tested. The only reason for your problem may be additional software that you have installed later.

It is also possible that it may be caused by an Antivirus application. Maybe an application runs in the background? There are many reasons that may be responsible for this problem.

If you reinstall your Notebook of recovery CD it will not work properly. It is very unjustifiable to write on some versions bug-free. I sometimes have problems with BONES, but almost always after using some freeware.

  • Satellite Pro M30 - error message: the user is not authorized to update BIOS

    Hello

I bought a Satellite Pro M30 of second hand. This one has the Bios 1.30... I would like to install the bios v1.70.

I am running Windows XP Pro SP3 and tried first update in Windows.
I however got the message "the user is not allowed to update BIOS.

This message is quite surprising given that I have administrator privileges.

I read that you can use a floppy disk to update, but I did not...

So, is it possible to update the Bios with the CD?

    See you soon,.
    R.S.

    Hello

I checked the page European driver of Toshiba and found the version of BIOS 1.7 WIN in the field of ARCHIVES.

As you can see, it's a version of BIOS Windows and not a traditional version of the BIOS (trad BIOS can be updated using the diskette).
This BIOS win can be improved only from a running OS Win.

In any case, I see that you have installed SP3. It could have a bad influence on the update of the BIOS.
Then maybe you should try to update the BIOS without SP3 installed?

Remove SP3, download the good BIOS, unzip correctly and then try to run the BIOS update file.

_Ps: If you laptop then runs without problem a BIOS update is not necessary! _

  • Satellite Pro M30 graphics works not when the driver is installed

    Hi all

I m having problems with my nvidia Geforce FX Go5200, in a portable Satellite Pro M30, (processor Intel Pentium M 1.7 GHz, 512 MB Ram). This card was working fine suddenly the laptop stops.

I formatted the laptop and installed Win XP PRO. After installing the driver VGA, I restarted the laptop, but black screen started to come right after the Win XP splash screen appears. The laptop continues to start up but no screen.

It starts fine in safe mode. I get my best screen simply by disabling the geforce card or uninstall the driver. I tried to install a new driver for the VGA on the download from Toshiba site, but same problem appears. I also tried the BIOS update but nothing happens.

    Can someone help me?

It's very strange question. It will be really interesting to know if this happens when you use the CD delivered recovery facilities.

In any case, I assume that there is a problem with the LCD display. In safe mode, the desktop appears in the resolution decreases but the resolution to the OS boot will be suitable for a standard (1280 x 800), and of course, there is the problem.

I am not a technician, but I recommend you contact the Service partner. AFAIK they use special tools and programs for display tests. They can tell you more.
