Unable to access a specific Web site

Hello
On my computer, I am not able to access a site specific and which is paypal.com
I still get the same errors

In Firefox:
Get connection failed error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long
Chrome:
Get connection failed error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long
In Internet Explorer:
404 error
In Opera:
Get connection failed error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long
In Safari:
404 error

This isn't a browser issue because no one was able to help the mozilla (Firefox is the main browser I use) to support forums. Obviously there is something in my computer that blocks me using paypal.com
I cleaned up my registry.
I ran a full scan of your PC with security essentials.
I ran a scan with malwarebytes in-depth.
I ran disk cleanup.
I also checked with a few commands in cmd.exe
'ping paypal.com' - packets: sent = 4, received = Lost 4 = 0
"nslookup paypal.com" - server address: Unknown: My IP appears
I can not even access to paypal.com
He has certainly nothing to do with my internet, or IP, because paypal is on another PC with the same internet connection.

Any solution?

It is regrettable that you 'cleaned' of your registry.  That may have caused more problems on the road.  If there is a useful UNDO function, you used, I would use it.

The failure of nslookup looks almost like a DNS problem, but if your DNS server has been bad, I think that the ping command would also have failed.

Maybe your hosts file is damaged in some way.

  • Click the start ORB, type Notepad in the start search box, then right click on the link for the notebook and select "Run as Administrator".
  • Respond to the UAC prompt.
  • Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
  • Change "Documents text (*.txt)" to "all files (*.)" *) »
  • Select hosts and open it

By default, the Windows 7 hosts file has no active entry - all lines begin with the character #, which marks as comments only.

Your hosts file has an entry for paypal.com?  If so, remove it and save the hosts file.

  • Unable to connect to a specific web site

Although I'm not a novice when it comes to internet issues, I met a problem only and myself cannot explain... I'd be VERY grateful if someone in the community might be able to get an idea of troubleshooting.

A week ago, I noticed that on my home network (2 XP Pro, 1 Vista Home Premium and Vista 64 via WiFi, Linksys Router 1 laptop), I was able to access a favorite web site (u2torrents) via a wired hard XP systems, others would not connect.  I tried to use the numerical IP address, but it connected extraordinarily slowly and incompletely loaded pages.  I ping the site and got no response.

I have connected one of the XP Pro that was blocked by the router, directly to the cable modem, and it IS connected.

So, I thought that you need some sort of router problem.

Linksys has worked with me for three hours, and they couldn't identify a problem.  Of course, we went through the usual steps of router cold restarts, restore the default settings.

Any running Zone Alarm internet from my PC, but even more by turning off without effect.

I took my laptop to another WiFi network, and it worked fine... so, probably to prove the issue had nothing to do with the OS corruption.

All of a sudden, everything worked for two or three days.  I did however replace my router... four year old and all worked for two days... and now the same problem has recurred.

I have confirmed with u2torrents.com (by pingdom) that at least through this mode of audit, the site itself has no problem.

I am usually able to access u2torrents.com via my PC at my workplace, now, today I can't connect from there either.  However, at the Hospital where I work, u2torrents.com is accessible without problem.

So, I don't know where to go with this... I can't identify a problem with my home PC, the router, or by the owner of the u2torrents.com site, the site itself... the only is different home computer that DOES connect to the House has DNS settings which allows him to assign a static ip address on my home network, but can't imagine what a difference that would make...

And now with two completely separate ISP of the no connection to the u2torrents.com site, I'm really lost.

So, if anyone has an idea about that, I will be eternally grateful!

    Thanks in advance, Peter

    Thanks for the thoughts!

I found a solution... it is the affected DNS server... when I inserted the ip to opendns settings, everything worked like a charm.  So, I guess that somehow the site I was previously access to was somehow fell off the screen radar of the DNS server by using my ISP was.

Seems that it is a rare question... but to the credit of my ISP, when I called them, one of the suggestions is to insert the Google's DNS ip address, and that probably would have worked too.

Hope if someone else has this problem in the future, they may find this link and save several hours of aggravation... not to mention buying a new router that I probably didn't seriously need again!

Once again, thank you to those who have read my request and tried to help him.

  • I can't connect to a specific Web site

My PC is running w7 Pro x 64 and IE9.  I'm unable to connect to a specific Web site for which I have a valid user id (my email address) and password (for me at the time to register for the Web site). When I try to login, I get a message saying the user name or password is incorrect, a second try results in a message that says that either my username and my password is not recognized - it displays also exactly what I typed so I can see my errors. The user name is correct, but the password it displys is not what I came - he says it is so kxEXkaTT that I had entered the correct password kxEXk1T0, the owner of the site says that they have logged on successfully with my user name and password without any problem at all. I tried to connect from my wife PC and PC friends and have had a complete success. All my different passwords with most of the websites that I use have different similar cases and alpha characters and digital and none of them asked me no problem

Other facts are that I was a regular user of this Web site for 3 years without problem until all the time, I upgraded from IE8 to IE9. The site says that they have thousands of registered members, as I am and have not experienced the problem that I have. I also have my PC protected by major software anti virus check and online protection against viruses and malware. and to my knowledge I don't have a virus problem more than 12 years of using a PC. I always check my incoming emails to the ISP server level and delete everything I do not feel safe on before I have to download the rest on my PC. I also only access sites deemed most is serious busdiness, media, and Government don't respect - no games, etc.

I suspect that I have a few curruption of memory possible in the bowels of IE9, but am worried that I won't lose all my existing data, updates and the settings (as Favorites) if I remove and reinstall from the original CD IE9

Any thoughts on what I should do would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Arthur

  • Cannot access previously accessible Web site

I'm unable to connect to a Web site that I have already connect to a maximum until 3 days ago. Now, I receive the following message:

    The connection has expired

The server to www.risingpenny.com takes too long to respond.

The site may be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

This is the only site that I have problems with, and the site is still running, as I received an email from them yesterday. The site in question is risingpenny.com. I tried to connect to it on other computers in my house where maybe I changed the settings on my computer by mistake, but still no luck.  I have Windows 7 and my computer is a Dell Inspiron. If anyone can help me or has experienced the same problem I would appreciate any information available.

    Thank you

    Kimberly

Hi Kimberly, I see this is your first post here. Welcome to our community!

Regarding your concern, if the site fails to load on all your computers, you can be sure that it is not a problem with all your computers.  Instead the Web site itself may be the problem.

You are unable to access the site right now?  I can reach it now (09:45 Central time).

  • Specific static IP addresses let happen to specific web sites?

505E PIX firewall allows us to connect to the Internet. All our PCs have static IPS assigned to them. How can I prevent a single PC with the address (ie. 1,2,3,4) to connect to a specific web site on the Internet whose address (ie. 9.8.7.6)?

Here's a quick crack at it based on my understanding of what you are looking for:

access-list outgoing tcp refuse host 1.2.3.4 host 9.8.7.6 eq www

leaving the ip access list allow a whole

Access-group out in the interface inside

There is an access list written on the inside interface. Your first entry prevents your internal host to connect to the external webserver on port TCP 80. The second line is necessary to allow any outbound IP traffic. The second line becomes a requirement when you place an inside interface access list.

The access-group lie command list of 'outside' access to inside interface.

    I hope this helps.

Most web pages require an element of Adobe Flash Player.

I need to know how many times I visited a specific Web site. How can I do in Safari? Thanks much for any help.

You could try your history unless you delete history after each session.

Command + Y should open Safari history or in the Safari menu bar, click on: history > view history

Otherwise, find how many times you have visited a site specific Web is impossible.

  • I'm unable to connect to a specific web site. Have you tried 3 different browsers and they all say that they are unable to connect. No one else has a problem connecting to the page.

I tried to use www.findagrave.com for 2 days.  I tried 3 different browsers.  all say that they are unable to connect.  No one else has a problem on this page.  I have no problem to do something else.  Why, throughout this site I can not connect with?   I use it all the time in research.  very aggravating.

original title: on a web page

Well, I tried the support page, but I already tried all that.  I did a restore full back to factory settings... still cannot have only one page to load.  I'll call my dsl provider this afternoon.  I don't know what else to do.  I can't communicate with Findagrave.  I don't have a snail mail address but no phone number.  But I don't think that it would be them anyway, if no one else has a problem with this web site.  There must be on my end, don't you think?

I don't know what to tell you. There is no problem, it's on your side.

If you care to try it... on the assumption that your user account is damaged.
Create a different user account with exactly the same type of account > connect to it and see if you can access this Web site.

Personally, I doubt that will solve anything, since you already restored your computer to factory settings.

  • Cannot connect to a specific Web site

For the last two weeks, I am unable to connect to a specific website (sharks.nhl.com). The user name and the password seem to go through fine (when I give a wrong password I get an error on the site), but the situation changes not connected.

This problem exists on my desktop Linux and work only with Firefox. On my macbook/Firefox 30.0 it works very well on my windows laptop with IE 10 it works fine, on the same Linux with Chrome last he also works very well.

However, it does not work with Firefox for Canonical Ubuntu and Firefox binary downloaded from the mozilla web site. I deleted cookies and other things and there is still no progress. The macbook Firefox and Linux firefox sync via Firefox Sync, for sets of modules are identical.

This problem may be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are blocked.
