Unable to Boot Vista correctly

OK - a few days ago, I discovered a virus on my system (a redirect to the browser), tried several programs removal of malware, but in vain.  I went to Geekstogo for help - installed & ran several programs, including Malwarebytes & OTL - I could not run GMER - locked system when I tried.  Then, I was responsible for carrying out a fix by OTL (included at the bottom of this post).  It was supposed to be so I could then run GMER successfully to find the rootkit virus and a way to remove it.  After rebooting my system, the Office was black with only the trash.  I have only limited access to my files - this message is on my desk from the beginning.
C:\\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is not accessible. Access is denied.

When you try to run GMER .exe I get the following message is displayed:

C:\ The dependency service or group was able to start.

At this point, just trying to get back to my regular boot process (without recovery system & reistallation of Windows Vista immediately).  I really hope you can help... Please.

  • Satellite P100-347: blue screen at startup - unable to boot volume

Recently, I left my 2 younger brothers playing NFS Carbon on my satellite P100-347, pre-installed with media center edition 2005, and now it fails to start.

During the process of possibly starting a blue screen appears for about a second and then it shutsdown (I managed to make the words "unable to boot volume" on the basis of the blue screen).

I tried to boot with a XP media center DVD but it gives me only a possibility of reinstalling the operating system with a cost of losing all my important data. Normally I would have picked up the system, but I don't want to lose my data.

Can I do other than take it to a technician?

    Hello

Well, for the most part the BSOD appears due to hardware problem or serious software.
In your case, the software problem is possible

Unfortunately, I think that the new installation of the OS is the best way to get the laptop works properly.
Now, you want to know how to record data and the files well, I think that you should remove the laptop HARD drive and must try to connect the 2.5 HDD via external USB controller to another computer. Then you can save the files to the other HARD disk

I think, now, you know that regular backups are important and necessary!

  • Dual Boot Vista and XP in separate hard drives?

I currently installed on a hard drive in Vista and I have an extra which is 160 GB I want to install XP on so that I can dualboot both, is it possible?

Remember that there is no partition in question here.

The key which makes the task easier is to preformat the drive, assign a disk label (example: WinXP) and then launch the installation.

  • I have a linux operating system and I would like to remove it and install windows xp. I'm afraid that if I wipe the drive, I'll be unable to boot the windows xp disc. Is this true?

I have a linux operating system and I would like to remove it and install windows xp. I'm afraid that if I wipe the drive, I'll be unable to boot the windows xp disc. Is this true? What is the best way to remove the linux operating system and install windows xp?

original title: HOW I CAN UNINSTALL LINUX OPERATING SYSTEM

If there is absolutely nothing on the disk you want, just format the drive and install Windows XP:

    1. start from the CD. You may need to change the first boot to a CD device in the BIOS. To do this, when you switch on the look for a configuration message indicating what key to start typing, F2 and del are commonly used. The message appears for very long and it you miss, you have to restart the computer. In the BIOS, look for a section that contains the boot sequence, change it to CD, save it and let the computer to restart.

    2. the installation sequence is answering the message press any key to boot from the CD, and then press ENTER to set up Windows, press F8 to accept the EULA, delete the partition, press ENTER, type L to confirm delete, type C to create a partition, choose (Quick) format. Then begins the installation and restart will therefore ignore the subsequent message to press any key to boot from the CD-ROM.

    3. actual installation will begin and takes about 30 minutes. Finally, download all the missing Windows service packs and other updates.

  • Can I run dual boot Vista 32 and Windows 7 64? Can I use a upgrade disk to install the full version?

original title: I have a simple question...

I have Vista 32 bit.  I have two hard drives.  Vista 32 is on disk 0.  (C) I want to upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit.  I want to change the installation path on Windows 7 64 bit edition updated the software on my second drive, so I can run a system dual boot.  Windows 7 Setup will allow me to do?  I can use the version upgrade of the software for that, or do I have the full version?

    Hello

You can't do what you want to do

32-bit to 64-bit is NOT a upgrade path if you have always wanted to upgrade 32 bit vista

It must be done with a clean install with a final certificate

and you need a full license of windows 7 to install windows 7 on the 2nd hard drive

You can dual boot vista 32-bit and 64-bit windows 7, if the manufacturer of your computer provides windows 7 drivers

The title explains it well enough. My computer crashed after getting the blue screen of death. I was unable to boot after that. I ordered the HP recovery discs. And now I am unable to boot from the recovery disc. I also gave a screen that says device not found Boot please install an operating system on your hard drive. I did the thing any escape goes in the boot, it I also did the F11 thing, nor have borne fruit. If it's important I use a ProBook s 4530 on Win7 64 bit.

Then I ran another test drive, then tried to install windows again, it worked. You'll love PCs. thanks for your help.

  • How do I set up a dual boot Vista and XP with 2 hard drives?

Dual boot Vista and XP with 2 hard drives

I tried to get my computer has a separate hard drive put in place that lets me run Windows XP or Windows Vista. I tried the path of the CMD, but I could do things wrong with that because the news NTLDR appeared much too different info from Vista. Currently, I have deleted this change to the startup configuration. I want to know what I have to do to get these two to be able to boot. I noticed problems similar to mine, but the answer always seems to be a software that would cost me money.

    Thank you

    Tevans95

    Hello Tevans95,

You cannot install two different operating systems on two different disks. For a dual-boot environment, you must install both XP and Vista on the same drive with different partitions.

In addition, you must install Windows XP first and then Windows Vista.

You can check the items below which will give you information on Dual boot.

    Install multiple operating systems (multiboot)

    Set up a dual-boot system

Change the default operating system for startup (multiboot)

There is no software that can help you to install XP and Vista on different drives.

    Thank you

  • How dual boot Vista and Windows 7

I'm using vista Home premium and want to install windows 7 a.m. premium as a dual boot. If I decide later by far with windows vista and keep only 7 How can proceed?

Assuming that my OS is windows 7 can I use the same disk of vista on the virtual machine with the same product key.

Vista and 7 cannot exist on the same partition as a dual boot? How to do it.

Is ther to disadvantages in dual boot?

There are no real problems with dual boot if it's Setup corrrectly.

You need operating systems on separate partitions (readers not necessarily distinct, but definitely separate from the partitions).

If you uninstall Vista later and it's a copy to the details of the program, then you can install it in a virtual drive using the same product key (but you'll probably need to activate manually).

Here's how Dual boot Vista with Widows7: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/5166-dual-boot-installation-windows-7-vista.html.

Although written for other systems, the process to remove a dual boot will work with Windows7 and Vista (although you may need to use the commands and Windows7 disk): http://vistasupport.mvps.org/remove_windows_vista_from_dual_boot_system.htm depending on the situation and that was installed first.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!
