  I recently updated my Windows 8.1 for Windows 10 and I am running iTunes vs 12.1.2.27. I have the settings to automatically search for updates, and it used to do that on Windows 8.1.   Hello I would be more than happy to help ya. First off lets see if an uninstall your copy of iTunes does the trick, no worries your music old and purchases will not be deleted when you do this.

  step 1: click on the Start button
  step 2: click on Control Panel
  step 3: once in the control panel you will have several options listed including "system and security", "network and internet" etc... now, look for the option programs and under the Word programs you will find the words uninstall a program. Click on "uninstall a program".
  (ignore if you already, we managed to step 3) Note: If you don't see this option as opposed to see 8 options see you a bunch of options, and check up on the right side where you will see the words "view by" click on the small blue arrow next to the word big/small icons and modify it to category
  step 4: now, a list will be brought to the top of all programs to install on your computer. Scroll down the page until you find iTunes.
  Step5: right click on iTunes and select the option "Uninstall" in the menu drop-down menu drop-down
  step 6: you will be asked if you are sure that you want to install, click Yes, a window will open for a brief moment saying preparing to remove it can take some time depending on your computer.

  Since your not sure what the 'others' are I would recommend you to restore your iPhone. I know that you will lose all your data, but not restore from a backup of iCloud so start as a new phone. You can back up your choice and if necessary to write all your contacts on a sheet of paper and then add hide them. Depending on the severity, you want that storage
