  • iTunes says: I'm updating when I'm not

I recently updated my Windows 8.1 for Windows 10 and I am running iTunes vs 12.1.2.27. I have the settings to automatically search for updates, and it used to do that on Windows 8.1. Now on W10, when I manually select "Search for updates", the message box comes up saying I'm already under the latest version, but I see we vs 12.4.0 out there today.  Why is this?  I'm on a laptop Dell Inspiron, W10 64-bit.  Any suggestions? Thought I would ask before downloading a new facility and what might cause other problems.

    Hello demenzes

Thank you for reaching out to the Apple of community support. I know it's important to keep things up-to-date so that your software is always running better there. In such cases, particularly with the upgrade to a new operating system, it may be a good idea to do a clean installation of iTunes on your computer.

This will take some time, but this does not alter your data in music or media in your library. When you re-install iTunes everything will be right there ready to go.

This article will guide you through removing iTunes and its related programs, 5 in total, and then you can re - install iTunes on apple's site:

Remove and reinstall iTunes and the components of the software for Windows 7 and later versions

If you are having problems, the community is there to help.

  • iTunes saying hello Service does not, but it is

iTunes says that the Bonjour service has been disabled, so it won't recognize any of my phones i6 or my iPad when it's connected, but the Bonjour service is running.  I checked each thread posted, uninstalled and reinstalled many times by following the procedures I found, deleting files/folders and even lost the backups of the device trying to remove all the files and folders of Hello and Apple. I checked my firewall and antivirus settings, ensuring that there is no blockage and I even added exceptions on both Hello. More radical step, I took was disable my home router firewall, PC firewall and disable my antivirus when the last attempt to re - install the iTunes software, nothing helps. I am running Win7 SP1 (64-bit) with the latest updates and software AVG Internet Security. I have no problem connecting to the iTunes store or by downloading the app updates. Whenever I connect a device, the mobile driver load successfully and my PC is grateful for connection. Checked after each installation that Hello both Apple Mobile Device services are actually run, but iTunes continues to say that he was disabled and my devices will not connect.

Does anyone have an idea? Thanks in advance

    Hi plennon54,

I understand that, despite your efforts on this point, iTunes is saying it can't connect to your devices due to Hello and services Apple Mobile Devices (supposedly) does not. In some cases, it may require that a good few more configuration in which concerns the isolation of security (such as antivirus software) of the image software. Still, an overview to the information described below.

If you still have problems after you test your connection, your security software may interfere with the connection of your computer with iTunes.

In some cases, it may be necessary to temporarily remove your security software to isolate a problem. Some Internet security applications don't completely uninstall, then you might need to download and run a utility to clean for your security software so that it can be completely removed.

Work with your security software provider to allow the complete list of ports and services that use Apple products or if you need assistance with their uninstalled software.

Make sure that there is not more than one type of security software installed at the same time. If you have more than one type of security software installed, you may experience other performance problems.

step 4: now, a list will be brought to the top of all programs to install on your computer. Scroll down the page until you find iTunes.
Step5: right click on iTunes and select the option "Uninstall" in the menu drop-down menu drop-down
step 6: you will be asked if you are sure that you want to install, click Yes, a window will open for a brief moment saying preparing to remove it can take some time depending on your computer.
step 7: a user account control window should appear asking "do you want to allow the following program to upgrade the software on this computer? Click Yes
step 8: another will pop up indicating 'Please wait while windows configures itunes' wait this process to fill once it will be take will vary from a few seconds to a few minutes
step 9: when everything's finished iTunes should be uninstalled and no longer appear on your desktop, in your Start menu, and if you had pinned him to the bar tasks icon will remain but when you click it will give and error and disappear
step 10: now have to www.apple.com
Step 11: once on the Web site, there will be a tab above that says iTunes, click on it
step 12: should a big page flashy with the new itunes and a nice big button that says to download itunes, click on it.

    step 14: click Download now
step 15: a new window should appear, at the top it will tell you where your computer tries to save the file (usually the downloads folder), and take note of the place where its going. Click on save and it will download the installation program.
step 16: after completed setup download go at it and double-click it
step 17: follow the instructions of the installer
step 18: during installation, you will be asked again to confirm its agreement to the program to make changes to your computer, click Yes.

  • iTunes says different model?

I have a weird problem. I own an iPhone 4s, but iTunes says I have an iPhone 3.1, yesterday he said that I had iPhone 4 and I have no idea how to fix that... Quite some time, I remember it wasn't a problem because it shows me that I have an iPhone 4 s. well I decided to try and update my iPhone 4S recently due to the new trend in the world 'Pokémon Go', I'm not a guy from the app, I just wanted to test this agitation , but when I tried to download the application, he stated that he does not support 7.1.2 iOS. I looked if the iPhone 4S supports iOS 8 and most of the sources I've seen says that he can, but when I try to update, it says that this version of the iPhone does not support iOS 8. That's when I realized that iTunes shows me the wrong model of the iPhone

My main questions are, how do I solve this problem? How can I update my iPhone 4 iOS 8?... If that's even possible.

If iTunes says iOS 7.1.2 is the latest version which will accept your phone, then you have an iphone 4 and not a 4 s. I don't know why you're getting different reports a 4 s, 3, 4. You can search for your phone model number to confirm what you have.

  • my external cd will not appear in the finder or on the desktop.  I went into preferences for the finder and intended to show the CD, I can load a blank cd and iTunes says and I burn on it then the cd will appear on the desktop.

I don't see my external cd in the finder under devices, I can load a blank cd and iTunes says it's white and I can burn songs, then the cd icon appears on the desktop, went into preferences for the finder and ticked the box show the cd.  Help please?  CD has been disconnected and placed back started loading but no show, iMac says he had an attached cd when I search.

CD/DVD players don't appear that a disk is inserted. It's normal.

  • half empty iPod but iTunes saying that it is full

IPod touch 32G with capacity of 27.2 G and 14G available and iTunes says there is no space for more music... what Miss me?

Connect your iPod to your computer and watch the storage used by the different categories, as shown in the color bargarph in iTunes.

    Get back with the results.

An 'other' more that about 1 1/2 GB contains corrupted files.

What is on my iPhone and how to remove it

What is 'Other' and what I can do about it?

Get the 'other' space on iPad, iPhone and iPod

Then, usually restore sauvegardΘ eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes factory settings restore / new iPod is necessary.

    To restore backup see:

    iOS: how to save

To restore the factory settings/new iPod see:

  • Why iTunes says my iPhone 6 s must be updated to iOS 9.2.1

iTunes says my iPhone 6 s must be updated to iOS 9.2.1 despite the fact that it is already on iOS 9.2.1. Updating the phone software shows that it is up-to-date, yet iTunes seems to think that's not. What should do?

  • Help! I installed yesterday the music notes with approximately 900 MB of free space on my iPhone 8 gb 5 c. When I tried to record a song of the trial, I got a message saying that I had no space on my phone. ITunes says I have 2.7 GB on the other!

Help! I installed yesterday the music notes with approximately 900 MB of free space on my iPhone 8 gb 5 c. When I tried to record a song of the trial, I got a message saying that I had no space on my phone. ITunes says I have 2.7 GB on the other! Anyone else had this?

I did a full restore and got 2.9 GB of free space, but in an hour (without using phone at all) I was at 0 MB of free space. Phone is unusable!

Anyone who has had this and what I can do about it?

Since your not sure what the 'others' are I would recommend you to restore your iPhone. I know that you will lose all your data, but not restore from a backup of iCloud so start as a new phone. You can back up your choice and if necessary to write all your contacts on a sheet of paper and then add hide them. Depending on the severity, you want that storage
