Unable to connect internet

2 months ago, I bought a Dell Vostro 1500 to the Viet Nam. When I used it at the Viet Nam it worked perfectly. But when I moved to Melbourne in Australia, I had a serious problem: unable to connect cable internet. When I borrowed a laptop TOSHIBA, it (TOSHIBA) worked normally (use the same cable to plug into the same modem)

I tried to downgraded from Vista to XP SP2, but nothing happened.

In my laptop, the network controller is Broadcom 400 x 10/100 Integrated Controller

Help me plssssssssssssssss!

P/S: Anyone knows Agent of Support from Dell in Melbourne (Australia)?

    Remove Norton, check the internet connection and if everything works well install Avira Antivir Personal.

    I use it for years and it works perfectly. We know that Norton can slow down the operating system. Avira is much better.

    I m not a Windows expert but check Services (start > run > services.msc). Make sure that the System Event Notification Service is run or try to restart this service.

    When you see the files available for download, you can not see the file extension (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc.), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

    When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, your browser is unable to save the file with an extension (by example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.
