Unable to connect to the server of the modem.

Hi guys, I have a major problem.

Whenever I connect to internet with my modem, it works. But, when I connect to internet with my router and modem, I can not connect. But I solved my problem by resetting both, my wireless router and modem. Then after I have my wireless router reconfigure everything I have to do is Connect Server from my modem. But I can't connect to the server of the modem. I am tired of connect with 'admin' (that is, the password), but I can't always connect to it.

I use: Verizon Broadband Network

Model of ultra RangePlus Wireless - N Broadband Router: WRT160N

Model of Westell 6100 modem

What is the problem? Everyone knows about this problem before?

You won't be able to connect to the modem, as long as the router is plugged

You must configure the modem first to fill mode, and then connect the router and you connect to it

1.) disconnect the router and have only the modem

go to 192.168.1.1 enter

This will take you into the verizon modem / if you have reset the modem then your username is; Admin

Once you lopg in what it will ask you to change the name of user and password

Just type ADMIN in all 3 areas

now that you are connected to the modem. Access the network at the top, then network connections on the left, broadband connection, you will then put your Protocol on bridge deck / routed.

now go to the top wireless settings and make sure wireless is enabled

you have the option to set up a security key on basic security settings

Once your modem resets then plug your router, you are now in bridge mode and moved modems connect to your router.  You must restart the modem and the computer just to be taken into account...

also, make sure and update your list of network on your laptop

    You are unable to access the modem even if you have a PPPoE connection. For PPPoE the E2500 will not need an IP address from the modem so it does not have DHCP on WAN port and so we never see. When you try to access the address of 192.168.0. * the E2500 it will route through the tunnel PPP to the ISP.

    If you connect your computer directly to the SpeedStream it should automatically get a DHCP address (assuming that the computer is still ongoing on the DHCP protocol and not with a static IP address and the SpeedStream does not automatically neutralize the DHCP server in Bridge mode). If you have configured a static IP address on the computer, you must change the IP address to an address of 192.168.0. *.

    • I can ping swscan.apple.com and she is resolved to 17.164.1.22 which is the same IP that also resolves the mac next to me (which gets the update)
    • I cannot telnet on port 443 to swscan.apple.com and it connects.
    • I have a mac in yosemite next to me who can see the updates so I suspect that doesn't pose any problems with the service itself rather something on why machine.
    • I started in safe mode, and while in safe mode, I get the same error.

    I am at a complete loss what to do next short of wiping and restore from a time machine backup, can anyone help please

    You can try to disable the Sophos websheild and ClamXav if she has one. Even better would be to uninstall both and test.

    FWIW, it is never a good idea to have 2 av programs installed.

    The last few days during the use of the internet, some Web pages will not be not open. I get a msg of error saying 'unable to connect to the server', but it works very well with other sites such as Facebook and YouTube.  This happens when I use Safari, Firefox and Chrome.  Yet if I'm in Safe Boot mode it works fine.  I exaggerate the App installed VPN and when I am in normal mode and connect to the VPN exaggeration, all Web pages work correctly. I searched the net for days trying to find a solution but nothing I tried worked.  I'm not very computer savvy either so don't know much of what I do with this technical stuff.  I emptied the caches, but that did not work.  Following the advice of an answer to another question on this forum that was similar to mine, I went into the Terminal and performed a diagnostic test.  I don't understand all the information in this essay so hope someone here can decipher.     If a problem does not occur when it is started in safe mode, then you have already determined that the problem was isolated to a few 3rd party software running on your Mac.  Take a look at the information below to start with the removal of some elements of start-up and connection and see if the problem persists:

    Test your login items

    1. Choose the Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click users and groups.

    2. Click on your account under the current user name, and then click connection points.

      Make a list of the login items, you will need to remember later.

    3. Select all the elements of connection, and then click the button Delete .

    4. Choose the Apple menu > restart.

    5. If this solves the problem, reopen the preferences users and groups, add the elements of connection one at a time and restart your Mac after the addition of each of them.

      If the problem persists, follow the steps above to remove only the last element of connection that you added.

    having exactly the same problem on my Mac when I try to connect it just gives me that a message could not connect to the server. Can go to my ipad, same account etc, but not on the desktop. Anyideas? I tried to download latest version, but that does not help

    I have an officejet pro 8600plus. When I bought it, I have activated ePrint and registered my printer, but never used the feature. Since then, I updated from XP to windows 8.1, changed a router and connected the printer through a series of switches on a wired ethernet connection. A few days ago, I tried to use e print but received a message that I couldn't connect to the server.

    my printer prints fine, connects to each computer on my home network, I just upgraded the firmware with success to [personal information deleted]
    and yet, for more than three days, unable to connect to the server.     Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I think since upgrade to 8.1 Windows and change your printer router cannot connect to web services to get the job of ePrint feature.

    Please define Manual of the printer an IP address manually and DNS servers. I've included a link to another post, I did it with the stages (including screenshots) how to do it.

    msnews and msn newsservers and groups are gone.  There are a few free newsservers, such that news://nntp.aioe.org , but a pottery forum is empty.  There are also some newsservers that you can pay for.  You could try emailing somone who already contacted you in the other forums to see if they have suggestions and what they are doing in this regard.
