  Seems XP or media center can not handle if you have many files in the \\mediahub\media\music directory. I had about 2500 files as well as dozens of directories in the music folder. So I moved all the files one level down (a deep folder) as the music folder. Instantly the music opened in about 2 seconds - low 90 seconds.

  I had also turned off file sharing / print and a few other things, but I don't think it helped - I've got turn them back on and see.

  So, the moral of the story is, break your music in folders rather than have a squillion MP3s at the level of the music root folder.

  I don't know who are these users, if I go to Regedit and look at the profileImagePath, some of these points in my user account, some to the profile system or local service.

  Is it safe to remove the ProfileList registry entries, or if not, how can I regain control of these files and get rid of these accounts. I tried the security, the owner tab to change the ownership of the folder, but access is denied.

  1 activate the administrator account and password.
  2 restart in Safe Mode.
  3. log on as an administrator.
  4. click on start
  5. type the three letters cmd
  6. press on Ctrl + Shift + Enter
  7 run the process as an administrator.
  8 type the following commands:
  CD /d c:\Users {Enter}
  takeown /a /r /d y /f {Tab}
  (Press the Tab key repeatedly until the name of the unwanted folder appears, and then press {Enter})

  I see a signons3.txt file and a file signons.sqlite older, if you can try to see if you can import passwords stored in this file.

  You can force Firefox to re-import the passwords in the file signons.sqlite and regenerate the file logins.json with the following steps:

  • reset the signon.importedFromSqlite pref on the topic: config page by default via the context menu
  • Delete the logins.json file in the closed Firefox with Firefox profile folder

  When you restart Firefox, then you should have the pref signon.importedFromSqlite with the value set to true.
  You have passwords that are imported in the password manager, unless there were errors or signons.sqlite signons3.txt.

  You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
  You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.

  If you have the default settings, the answer is probably yes.  To be sure, right-click any track in iTunes, choose 'Show in Finder', and you will see what copy of a song file iTunes uses.

  If you have another copy of the song file, iTunes didn't need, and you can remove at your discretion.
