Unable to get 10 Windows upgrade, I have Windows 7

I click on the 'update now' thing, it turns, I continue with what I do - and nothing. Like, nothing. I restarted my computer... I still have 7. I looked in the downloads, there is nothing there that says "Click me to upgrade" or something like that. I'm not good at this stuff, but it seems that if she says 'click on this upgrade', it should do.

Try the manual upgrade:

Task of pre-required

When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1

then

then

  • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
  • Reboot several times, and then try again.
  • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
  • If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
  • Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
  • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
  • If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
  • If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
  • If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
  • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).

Original title: can't get windows updates

I was unable to get the updates of windows - via the feature of automatic update, or through the manual method to access microsoft.com.  When I go to the microsoft update Web site, and it starts to scan my PC, it returns an error (often 0x8007043c and similar).  I tried to run Microsoft FixIt.  It tells me that windows up-to-date devices require to be repaired, but when I run the repair (problem-solving), he continues to run for hours and hours and doesn't do a thing.  How can I remove the software from the Windows Update Agent from my PC and reinstall a new version?

  • Unable to get the free upgrade to 8.1

I had windows 8 for Christmas from 2013.  Watched once and put it away and I returned to my trusted XP.  Well, it's finally on its last leg, so I have no choice but to turn to Windows 8.  I tried to learn it on my own for the last month.  Why this horrible change?  When I went from 2000 to XP, I was able to jump in full.  Now, I need several college degrees just to turn it on.  I hate it!  Now the problem I have is I get all these messages to upgrade to 8.1 free, but every time I click on download, it takes me to this green screen that says windows store, but it makes that go round and round and round.  Don't show me how getting out of this window.  In addition, each time I want to do something, we're looking for a password.  Do you know how many different passwords have some people?  Sorry, it looks more like a session of b...h but I really don't know how (simply) how to download and install the upgrade.

Please help me.  I'm old and I'm tired and I want to use my computer.  Thanks in advance.

    Hi Nancy,.

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community forums. I can certainly understand the changes that you can find using Windows 8 as new technology.

Windows 8 introduces major changes to the operating system platform and user interface to improve its user experience. I appreciate your comments we make changes, given feedback even to make more user-friendly technology.

You could become user and password quickly if you try to install any program or make major changes on Windows. This feature is called User Account Control (UAC). No password, Windows will ask you if you use an administrator account.

Approval mode administrator in the UAC allows to avoid malicious programs to settle in silent mode without knowledge of the administrator. It also helps protect against systemic changes inadvertently. Finally, it can be used to apply a higher level of compliance where administrators must actively consent or provide credentials for each administrative process.

What is user account control? (This link information also applies to Windows 8)

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing. I you suggest to disable the antivirus, unplug external devices attached to the computer and then try to install Windows 8.1.

Follow these methods and check if that helps:

Method 1: I suggest you to reset Windows Store Cache and check if it helps.

    (a) press 'Windows key + R' on the keyboard to open the run window.

    b. in the run window, type "wsreset.exe", and then click Ok.

I suggest you to run a Windows Upgrade Assistant. Assistant upgrade is a free download that scans your PC, desktop applications and devices to see if they will work with a later version of Windows.

Method 3: If you are not able to find the update of store Windows, follow the steps in troubleshooting of this article:

Why I can't update in the store?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows-8/why-can-t-find-update-store

Method 4: Temporality disabling software security and control for the issue.

Please disable any security system or Microsoft if you have on your system.

Important note: security software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

I bought an upgrade to a provider. I have acquired a product key. I invoke Windows Anytime Upgrade according to the directions and the only option is to upgrade to Vista. Then I went to the Microsoft page to buy the product. I have Vista 64-bit with all updates installed on my Toshibe Satellite computer. I ran the Upgrade Advisor and everything was satisfactory.

Unable to get the upgrade to Windows 7 purchased to start

I call Windows Anytime Upgrade according to the guidelines

    I have Vista 64-bit

Windows 7 anytime upgrade: you have Vista or XP currently installed?

If the product you have Windows 7 'Anytime Upgrade' does not allow to move from XP/Vista to Windows 7. You can buy the product at retail of Windows 7 Upgrade not the ' Anytime Upgrade '.

Windows 7 'Anytime Upgrade' is for moving from one version of Windows 7 to a higher version, such as Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional.

Original title: I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L305-S5894 with Windows Vista Home Premium installed (32 bit).  Unable to get a backup to a flash drive.

After back back, very many updates of windows, my computer is full of problems and it is not representative of the restore points far enough back to correct.  I want really to save my data and programs for flash drive (s) and then go for a full recovery of the system (return to factory).  When you try to do the backup on a 4 GB USB key I get an error including 0 x 81000029.  I have seen posted answers to this.  Everything is included to aid Vista disk from the window which was not included when I bought my computer. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

The following article should be useful. To use system recovery options, you have Vista installation disc. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) repeatedly will install on the computer Windows recovery environment. To cross check if it is installed, try the following steps.

1 start the computer and press the F8 key continuously to get advanced boot menu options.
    2. on the menu advanced startup options, check if the Startup Repair tool is in the list.
    3. If so, select it and press ENTER.
    4. If not, then you should organize a Vista installation disc.

You may receive error messages when you try to perform a backup operation on a Windows Vista-based computer

    Hello
I hope someone can help me. I am unable to boot into windows vista 32-bit, so I downloaded the vista recovery disk and get an oxo error code what it means (thanks in advance)?

You don't give any info on what was the original problem with the computer.

You have set the Bios Setup to boot from the CD/DVD drive?

At startup, it will say press F2 or delete key to go into Bios/Setup, or maybe F12 to go to the Start Menu.

And have you tried also to tap F8 at startup and choose Safe Mode from the list of Boot Options?

Use up arrow key to do this, press on enter.

Browse your Hard Drive manufacturer's website, download software from here and test your hard drive for errors.

    See you soon.
