Unable to get the screen saver in the windows home premium/no local political component software plug-in available function to adjust settings

Hi all

Could someone please tell me how to activate my screen saver, I did a fresh install of windows 7 Home premium and the BONE seems to work very well.

As soon as I select a screen saver and press apply/ok I wait a few minutes and nothing!  , apparently, this function can be modified via local group policy / I can not even find the local policy snap in my MMC not home premium can't?

Any help with this rather annoying problem would be nice.

The original version doesn't have access to all the functions that are available in the Pro or ultimate versions (company?). That said, the screen savers are enabled by default, so if none of them work something may be blocking them. Maybe some program/utility running in the background, or with a parameter to disable screensavers while the application runs.

  • Unable to get the windows updates, it returns an error (often 0x8007043c and other similar)

Original title: can't get windows updates

I was unable to get the updates of windows - via the feature of automatic update, or through the manual method to access microsoft.com.  When I go to the microsoft update Web site, and it starts to scan my PC, it returns an error (often 0x8007043c and similar).  I tried to run Microsoft FixIt.  It tells me that windows up-to-date devices require to be repaired, but when I run the repair (problem-solving), he continues to run for hours and hours and doesn't do a thing.  How can I remove the software from the Windows Update Agent from my PC and reinstall a new version?

Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

Method 1: I suggest you to follow the steps in the Microsoft Knowledge Base article and check.

You receive an error message "0x800A01AE" or a "0 x 080070570" error message when you try to connect to the Windows Update Web page or to the Microsoft Update Web page in Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP

    Hello

    1. Where do you see the prompt or the Windows Media Player 10 option?
    2. Since when are you facing this problem?
    3. Have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

Windows 7 comes with Windows Media Player 12.

I'd suggest to determine the version of Windows Media Player you are currently working.

  • Unable to get the Windows Viewer to let me attach a picture to my AOL mail and send it on this screen

This used to be so simple before the accident. I could send a picture of the viewer of Windows. I click on e-mail, join and my AOL mail writing would leap upward and I hit send. Now, I get the famous "you don't have an email etc. software." I should say that I have the 64 bit version of Windows 7. I think that my default is set correctly to AOL.  Thank you.   Lee

E-mail ' send to ' works if you have MS Outlook installed/configured, or use a different e-mail program, and not if access you messages via your browser

  • The Windows Home Premium OEM for Windows Professional upgrade

Normally, I go with the professional version of Windows.  After checking the differences between Windows 7 Edition Home Premium and professional, it appeared the only features I'd lose with Home Premium vs professional would be Bitlocker XP compatibility and the ability to join a domain.  I installed Home Premium 64 bit and it works fine.

I recently updated my Acronis True Image backup software for the 2011 version.  This software is not particularly concerned for Windows 7 and it really don't like NAS devices.  A backup of maybe 10 gig of the NAS can take a day, if it is completed, and restores files are not reliable.  I decided sync critical files to the NAS to a local drive, where they could be saved easily.

After much pulling hair I have determined that the file sync feature is missing in the Home Premium, as confirmed in several forums, including this one.  The lack of this feature is not mentioned in most graphic comparison of Microsoft, including a detailed version comparison matrix I found on this forum.

Sync Center option is present in the Home Premium version, however, it does not allow the implementation of a "sync partnership.  It won't let me map a network drive, my local machine, but I already did.  lt is a version update is in order.

It seems not be a cost-effective way for the owner of OEM upgrade to professional or ultimate edition.  Anyone with a computer bought in a retail store or a system integrator, likely an OEM license.  Him 'anytime upgrade' professional costs $90 while the ultimate load of $140.

It's quite a chunk of change, especially for a story that should have been there all along and the absence of which is never mentioned by Microsoft.  I paid $110 for Home Premium OEM.  The Professional OEM version would cost $149.  If I had to do the upgrade anytime I would have to pay almost what I paid for the operating system and I will be stuck with an OEM version that cannot be moved to another system.

Microsoft has a method to upgrade from OEM versions at a reasonable cost?  If I buy the $90 total time to upgrade that will the license be moved to another system if it loses their motherboard?

Just to clarify, Bitlocker is available only in the enterprise and Ultimate editions.

Not available in home edition Premium Windows 7 Professional features:

    -Domain join

    -Remote Desktop

    -Network backup

    -Encryption of system folders

    -Group Policy

-Support up to 192 GB of RAM (64-bit version only)

-Peer to peer support for up to 10 machines

Microsoft has a method to upgrade from OEM versions at a reasonable cost?

You have almost used up all available channels. The most effective being Anytime Upgrade.

If I buy the $90 total time to upgrade that will the license be moved to another system if it loses their motherboard?

You can transfer the license to another computer running Home Premium, but you can't move your OEM Home Premium license.

  • I am unable to get the Windows updates.

What's new? because every time I check it says there is none, and I have NOT received any of this month still?

If you mean Microsoft/Windows updates - have shouldn't allows you to receive updates again this month since the timing of the releases is (and has been for years) "the second TUESDAY of each month"... :-)

Expect Microsoft Windows updates ON or AFTER January 14, 2014.

  • Failed to start the Windows Audio Service on Local computer. Error 1053.

Hello! Last week, I lost all sound elements. When you click the sound icon, I got the error 'there is no available active mixer device. To install mixer devices, go to control panel, click Printers and other devices, and then click Add Hardware . "I'm going through the Add Hardware Wizard, click on that I already added the material and select SigmaTel High Definition Audio Codec. It says "the device is functioning properly." According to Device Manager, the device is functioning properly. When I go to start, run, services.msc and try to start Windows Audio, I get "unable to start the Windows Audio service on Local computer. Error 1053: the service did not demand launch or control in a timely . »

Can anyone advise me on what to do?

    Hello

About the message you received, it is likely that your sound driver may be damaged. In this case, try to reinstall the driver.

You can also go to the website of your computer manufacturer to get the driver. They should have ALL the drivers for your computer model. :-)

  • I'm unable to get the registration code for my Blu - Ray player

I'm unable to get the registration code for my Blu - Ray player. I followed the instructions and all I get is the statement: device is registered. I can't register for the most part without a valid code. Please let me know how I can get the correct code. Thank you

If you were able to enter the registration code the first time you tried to save the player before then you don't need to do it again. Just bought this drive? If so, was it a screen or mixed open-box model?

  • I get the windows login screen and I do not know the password for administrators

I accidentally deleted my account and when the computer starts and I get the windows login screen and I do not know the administrators password. Also how can I reinstall windows when I got a disc when I brought my laptop. Thank you, Lorraine

Thanks for getting back to me. I sold my old laptop to my son-in-law, and he asked me to remove my name from the computer off so that my name wasn't on the screen all the time. so I deleted the profile of cook of lorraine and made one for him, but I didn't give it a password. then I realized what I had to do (I got Lorraine where time is on the bottom of the screen), but was unable to highlight to remove it without a mouse. so I plugged a mouse, but the computer does not read, then I restarted the computer. When I restarted, all I could get was the windows login screen.

then I typed in the name son-nlaws and they said that he was kidnapped, tyoed in mine and got the same and then typed in Administrator, but did not know the password. I have since reinstalled windows. XP Professional would not install saying a file was missing, so I installed xp family and is working again. He just has to click on what edition it wants to run. Professional XP of course happen just with the display of connection... but it can use again.
    Thank you once again, Lorraine

  • Unable to get the Bluetooth Toshiba BT Stac Headset profile in collaboration with mic

    Hello.

I have problems with my Motorola HT 820 Stereo headset, the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack installed on Vista Home Premium 32 bit laptop.

I am unable to get the microphone to work at all, so can't use it for Skype / VOIP calls etc. Features such as the A2DP and AVRCP work very well, and I can listen to music via the media player without problems.

I read in a FAQ on this site, to make sure that I use the installation option custom rather than the quick installation when adding the device, but it seems to make no difference, am I missing a step here?

In the properties of the device Windows registry, I see the option listed for Bluetooth Mic, but even assigning as device by default does not work.

I know to plug my headphones on my desktop PC that uses the bluetooth stack Widdcom, can I use the headset/microphone function, but this battery seems to work differently, as I can select option headphones in the bluetooth settings, but I don't see such an interior option Toshiba stack - and I think that's the problem.

I've updated to the last stack of Toshiba on this website, but this did not help at all.

Here, any help would be appreciated.

    Concerning

    Hello Matt

Unfortunately I can't help you with that, but if I remember right here on the BT section that someone has already asked something similar. Please take a little time and see the BT section on this forum.

You can also visit the FAQ section on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/
    Might find something there.

    Good luck!
