    There is no command to operate the drawer in the Windows command prompt.

    You can add a small command-line utility called Nircmd.exe that will allow you to do this, and more to use many cool commands more.

    Go to the following site.

    Download the utility. Unzip the file and copy the Nircmd.exe file in the C:\Windows\System32 folder.

    (If you use the 64-bit Windows version, also copy the file in the SysWOW64 folder so that it also works with the 32-bit command prompt)

    Nircmd.exe cdrom open D:

    (Where D: is the CD-ROM drive)

    So what happened Thursday.  I surfed without protection for one hour without realizing Norton had expired, I knew that it was about to expire but not this day.  Then, I deleted norton completely and installed Microsoft essentials and upgraded to IE9.  Then seen emails were gone so I restored to Wednesday, but that doesn't seem to change something in return.  If someone can some scream '' Cut '' and we go back to Wednesday night I renew my norton and go back to watching TV.
    Don't know what made me in French - complete a virus or adding MS Essentials or the removal of Norton, but the wife blames me for him, and of course, she's always right.  Please I need a break

    Do you have emails when you restored the computer to Wednesday?

    Given that this has worked very well in Safe Mode, I suggest you perform the clean boot and see if that helps.

    I turned on my computer this morning and all of a sudden all _ broke loose. Everytime I try and open an exe file I get a security alert box Windows telling me that:

    I read through every thread I can find on the subject, and none of the "answers" worked for me.

    I tried the common next 'solutions' with no luck:

    (1) right click on the exe, click Properties
    Click the Unlock button
    Click OK

    (2) adding exe to the control panel > Windows Defender > Tools > Options > excluded file types

    (3) start / Control Panel / Internet Options.
    (Displays control panel Internet Options)
    Click the security"" tab.
    Click "Local Intranet".
    Drag the slider to "Low".
    Click the 'Sites '.
    Click on the button "Advanced".
    Enter the IP address of the NAS / SMB / CIFS / some server and click "add".
    Click "close".

    (4) delete the registry key - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderTypes\{EF87B4CB-F2CE-4785-8658-4CA6C63E38C6}\TopViews\{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}

    (5) create a profile admin completely. -This one was interesting, when I logged on the account there was no aero theme - he went immediately to the essential.

    I had not mentioned in my HKCU registry entry. I solved the problem by resetting all my settings IE. If something in Internet Explorer is the cause.  In fact, which fixed the problem for every user profile on the machine.

    Once installed, if you go into control panel > java > java > view > enable 1.6, disable 1.7

  • Unable to open the drive with the hd box.

    I put my laptop hard drive in a usb encloser to retreve files however 2 drivers falls under my computer, drive E that is the recovery drive and drive f wich has all my files on it. but when I try to open or right click on drive F the computer says its loading but then stops and says: I need to format the drive until I could use it.

    How can I get my files off the drive if I don't open it yet?

    PS the laptop was Windows Vista while the desctop im useind to get the files is not sure win7 if there is no diff.

    I suggest take you the drive and check if you are able to access the drive.

    To do this, follow these steps:

    a. click the drive you want to take control and then click Properties.

    b. click the Security tab and then click OK on the security message (if one appears).

    c. click Advanced and then click the owner tab.

    d. in the name list, click your user name, click Administrator, if you are logged in as administrator, or click the Administrators group. If you want to take ownership of the contents of the folder, select the Replace owner of subcontainers and objects of the box.

    e. click OK and then click Yes when you receive the following message is displayed:

    You are not allowed to read the contents of directory folder name. Do you want to replace the the directory permissions with permissions granting you full control?

    All permissions will be replaced if you click Yes.

    Note folder_name is the name of the folder you want to take charge.

    Click OK, and then reapply the permissions and security settings that you want for the folder and its contents.

    Hi, I recently bought this pc, asus n551jk, which came with windows 8.1, I switched to 10 windows because windows 8.1 give problems, so I had problems with windows 10 crashing on some games, so I decided to go back to windows 8.1 and all of a sudden I couldn't. don't know how windows.old has been deleted, but it wasn't the case to be found, and no, it wasn't a month yet since I went. I installed windows 7 and had a multiboot windows option 10 and windows 7 successfully, but it was weird cos I just installed windows 7 on the c: drive, but now I had folders windows.old and windows.old000 on the c: drive and had also, folder windows on drives C and D, don't delete anything simply decided to restore my previous backup files, the files do not have restore to the usual places and it was all mess really, I had several repeated files, up to this point, everything worked perfect, so I decided to install updates and restart windows, after restarting, I realized I didn't have a multiboot option more, windows 10 had completely disappeared and had Windows 7 , and when I connected, I decided to get rid of some repeated files to free up space, and I noticed that I could not remove anything, when I clicked on delete, nothing happened, even no error message, nothing, nothing at all, I tried with several files and it remained the same. I looked for solutions on the net, tried to give me the privilege administrator cos it seemed to be the problem, then I noticed that I had 2 users, one of them which was 10 windows user and current user of windows 7, and the funny thing is that with the privilege of administrator is the user windows 10. but I can't access windows 10 more, then why? How is that possible? I have still two files windows.old, why have I lost access to the windows 10? It didn't remove boot options. then I went to windows.old000 and rendering account this is the folder that I had the privilege of administrator to the course, I could remove/change anything in this file outside of this folder, I couldn't do anything else, I could access the older records, but I could not change or do something with them and once again windows.old000 is on the c: drive, on which I have windows 7 installed. And why have I lost access to the windows 10 if I never deleted it, not even by mistake. and I've tried the command cmd / active: Yes NET LOG ADMIN and that I received was that USER cannot NOT BE FOUND. so I would be grateful if anyone can help cos im frustrated, I don't want to go back to windows 8.1, I have the drive, but its got a lot of questions.     Since the beginning of the question and not tried troubleshooting, there seems to be a lot of mixing upwards and there might be conflicts on Windows files for each installation. The best option recommended for everything what you back up data and start with the new facility.

    The steps include also the right command to activate by default. You can enable the default Administrator and check if you are able to access your data in the default administrator user account.
