Unable to save my movie in high resolution using Movie Maker 2.6 (Win 7)

Hello:

I spent a ton of time and produced a slide show of wedding for the wedding of my daughter with overlay of music and various transitions. After all that work, I can't save my project in the movies high resolution using Movie Maker 2.6. I tried to go up to 512K Broadband (except option). But anything on this resolution, the film becomes black at some point. But you can still here the music. Why? Is it possible to go to resolutions higher for a slide show of bin? It is a powerful laptop with plenty of memory.

I have closed all other applications. Uncontrolled codec / file type compatibility etc. No difference. BTW, the file does not transfer or open to the latest Live Movie Maker help. That might have been a solution.

Any help would be appreciated.

Kind regards
Kevin K.

I just found out what the problem is freakin ' and the solution. If the inserted videos have different "video codec" then it will not work!

Before adding videos to Movie Maker, throw in a video converter and convert them all. (Even if the original format is WMV, convert again to WMV) that will ensure the output videos have the same codec!

I'm guessing that you are running Movie Maker 2.1 on Windows XP?

There is a good possibility that some of your source files (photos.
video clips, audio clips) are incompatible or corrupted.

Even if the project plays well in Movie Maker... which is not guaranteed
It can encode the project in a video file.

    First... try the following...

When ready to save it as a movie... go to...
Tools / Options / Compatibility tab and uncheck the box 'all' filters.

Open the window of the droplet and choose... DV - AVI.

With Windows XP, Windows Movie Maker 2.1 should be automatically downloaded with SP2.   I have Windows XP and use Movie Maker for a few years. Today, I had to do a destructive system recovery. The recovery got Windows XP (SP 1).  After that recovery was complete I downloaded and installed all Windows updates essential, including the SP 2 and 3, but I still don't have Windows Movie Maker 2.1. I went to Windows updates several times and tried to find Movie Maker without success. The date of search engine update takes me to the elbow that lead me to updates of Windows where I can not find the Movie Maker download.

It is without a doubt part of SP2 and do it. It is perhaps missing in the menu accessories.

  • Unable to save movie in WLMM__Error: 0 x 87160139

Hello, I have questions to save my movie finished. I have read many forums and tried the below troubleshooting steps.

-J' have made sure all files have not moved from the original location, since I imported in wlmm.
-I made sure that I did not remove all the files that I use in my project, from the moment that I imported into wlmm.
-J' rebooted wlmm and tried to save again, but nothing helped.
-J' tried to restart my computer, then opening wlmm > my project > tried to save,... .no disp.
-J' have made attempts to save in different contexts (for HD, computer, DVD and email)... does not
-J' I tried to create my own frame and save... Needless to say, it has failed.
-J' have same, maddeningly, just trying to save time and time again.

Here are some basic steps I tried on my own desperate attempts in solve my problem... I can't. Here are the most common error message I get when trying to save.

Sorry, unable to save your movie. Find missing files or delete the unusable items in your project and then try again.
    Error: 0 x 87160139

Not the most useful message... in fact, it's the least useful error on the face of this planet. I knew the way to know, to the best of my knowledge, what files are unusable. (is it me?)

Based on what I already read of problems of others, it's a common mistake, however, I was not able to achieve a 'happy ending' on any of the threads I've read. (fwiw, most of what I read is from late 2009, early 2010) Could I not find a recent fix by chance?

If anyone can shed some light on my problem here, it would be much appreciated.

    Thank you!

I don't remember when I had the answer to my problem but I thought that I asked the question in the HP forum (it would have been some time in late 2010) and then someone answered with the solution to my problem. But I can't find the post I did then.

    Hello JimTrail

After watching this on the web, it seems that you is maybe to something. From what I found, GIMP uses a lot of resources, especially true for larger images. He isn't able to handle the scanning of an image as large as 4800dpi without additional RAM or virtual memory to compensate for the RAM.

My suggestion would be to increase the size to the recommended or higher. Out of curiosity how much physical RAM have you? Microsoft recommends that virtual memory for no more than 3 times the amount of RAM installed. See article: change the size of virtual memory.

You can also see the article below on the Tile Cache GIMP.org.

  • Can I transfer a file to Windows Movie Maker on a DVD?

I made a video on Movie Maker of Window and I want to put it on a DVD to show my upcoming Big birthday party. Is there a way I can do this, and if I can, how, and if I can't do what I can do to show! Help, please!

You posted in a forum of Win XP, so I can only guess that you're running XP...
If_Yes... the only version of Windows XP which adds a DVD video option for
Movie Maker is Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 and it was not
    meant to be extremely reliable.

Beyond that... you must save your Movie Maker projects in the. WMV or
. AVI format movie and then import them into the DVD authoring software to
create a video DVD. (save info pasted at the end of this message)

The following freeware should help you get started:

(FWIW) It's always a good idea to create a system
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    DVD Flick

    (the download is: "dvdflick_setup_1.3.0.7.exe")
(On the second screen, left click 'Direct link' to the top of)
    the page)

Save the file to a folder on your hard drive and
    install from there.

Be sure to read the Guide:

Target format... residents United States... Choose... NTSC /.
    Accept.

The title button left click Add and navigate to your
Video clips and select the ones you want on the DVD.

You can have by selecting one and then use
    the up and down buttons.

Left click on the button create DVD / OK / Yes / Yes.

Please wait while the DVD is created.

When the text "Completed successfully" is displayed you
DVD Flick can close. Now you can eject your DVD
and play in your DVD player.

At some point you might want to buy more
    Advanced Cyberlink, Nero, Roxio, software
Ulead, etc... but at least it is a start.
