Understand how KB2813430 works (Windows 7 certificate Updater)

Microsoft has published a newsletter on Dell certificates that need to be blocked to use in their https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/security/3119884.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396notice.  I have confirmed on 24 November, we have version applied to systems as we have things the installer for update by installing some KB2813430 in the past.  But I'm curious to know if we should also expect to see the certificates of Dell as untrusted certificates?  (We do not these as Untrusted and there never exist in the first place on our systems as far as I KNOW because we create our versions of media from Microsoft rather than using the original image).

Can anyone shed some light on when you should see a certificate not approved in the certificate store (certmgr.msc)?

    Hello

For benefits during the different phases, you can open the link below and choose "Support Life Cycle policy" on the left side.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/lifecycle

    For reference

    http://support.Microsoft.com/lifecycle/?ln=en-GB&C2=1173

Integrate the end of Support Date Extended Support end date Service Pack Support end date

If you reinstall Windows until the end of cycle, you will get the benefit as shown in the link. The best way is to download and save Service packs for XP that will cover more updates, or you can make a note of the update currently installed in the computer and manually download as backup.

  • How to remove windows xp security updates installed automatically

recently, I installed windows xp. The system has automatically downloaded and installed from many windows xp security updates, which slowed the system. also, how open internet browser like IE8/Google chrome/Firefox, the system crashes, but the system speeds up after a while. I always find AVG antivirus free edition is updated at the start of the system upward during which the problem above. can you suggest how to fix it?

Chances are, AVG is you slow down because it downloads the latest anti-virus definition files and will then scan your computer. You can set how often you want these updates. Personally I have mine to search every day and will take the hit on his speed to get the latest definition files. Depending on how your system is configured, it will also look at the updates for other programs / Windows as well and download.

  • How to stop windows vista automatic updates

Whenever I connect to the internet, I get an update automatic windows vista. This drains my allowance of month for the internet in a few minutes and I can't find an option to stop the download updates automatically.

It's cost me money, I pay to go on my internet allowance, and I can't stop it!

    See the following articles

You should not receive updates each time you turn on the computer. Microsoft releases security updates the second Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am PST. No security updates may appear to be the fourth Tuesday of the month. Updates to the Windows Defender definitions are issued twice a week. Windows Security Essentials (if you have one) will be updated daily. There are occasional updates outside this cycle. You should check your update history where an update fails to install and is given several times.

  • How to keep Windows 7 drivers updated programmatically.

What is the best software proven to keep my Windows 7 drivers up to date and avoid blue screens?

    Hello

Check manually, this is by far the best method:

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded: (run DriverView - VIEW set to hide
Microsoft drivers - update those without drain in the names out there. This utility is not an automatic
Update, it makes it just easier to know what driver versions are loaded and set to update manually
    the drivers).

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using the methods above
It is preferable to ensure that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are located)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

  • How to keep Windows Contacts to update if you use Windows Live Mail... only for iphone

    Dear people of MS,

The guys at tech Windows Live forum helped me as much as they could, but suggested I bring my topic to give you is a question re: Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail (WLM).

Anyway, I had a computer crash on my Vista computer (all data had been backed up fine - it is) but in the meantime I bought a notebook with Windows 7 above. I started to use WL Mail on my new computer and when I finally got my old a return of the boutique (Vista), I downloaded WL Mail so that I would use same program of electronic mail on both computers. It makes sense to me.

However, I have since discovered that when my iphone syncs with my computer, it only picks up the contacts of my Contacts from Windows Messaging folder, and * not * those of my WL Mail one.

Question: what do I do if I want to keep my Windows Mail contacts up to date, ensuring that all new Contacts that I have receipt/get through WLM are also in my Windows Contacts so that when I sync my iphone the iphone is up-to-date with Windows Contacts.

Windows Mail Contacts are so easy to see and then move that WL those who are not. It's horrible!

Can you please help - after reading a lot of posting on the website of Windows Live, I'm assuming that I need to import the WL Contacts in Contacts in Windows Messaging is that correct? Is there anything else I should know or should do?

    Thank you very much.

    Best,

    Psych :)

    Hey Psych13 and Gary,.

Looks like you two neglected, first paragraph, of Halima. Just to summarize his position, it is not possible to synchronize contacts between Windows Live Mail and Windows Contacts. They don't like each other, there's bad blood there. :)

Assuming that you have different contacts Contacts Windows and your Windows Live Mail, the third link posted Halima will help you to consolidate your contacts in a single application.

And assuming that you need help to set up your iPhone to sync with Windows Live Mail, you can use the fourth link for help.

Let me know if you have any questions!

  • ENVY7640: I do not understand how to work my new cartridges

Our old hp printer had an individual for each black cartridge, in order to separate the 5 cartridges to install and modify as needed.

Our new range of printers hp (ENVY7640) was a cartridge for the black and the other which includes all 3 of the other colors.  Does this mean that when the first color runs out, and there are still some of the other left two ink needs to be replaced?

That is right.  If one color runs out, need to replace the cartridge, even if there is no color left for others.  That is why is is always better to buy a printer with a separate color and black cartridges.

  • Windows 10 - How do I stop the auto update July 29

    Hi all!

I just purchased a Lenovo Yoga 3 14. I am trying to set up (any suggestions welcome, but I have been reading this forum and looking online for help) and have been unable to find an answer to the following question.

The agent told me that any PC, I bought (which currently has Windows 8.1) automatically updates itself to Windows 10 July 29, once connected to the internet.

My problem is that I will be sitting at the bar at the end of the month with this laptop (ending June 30). The bar exam using ExamSoft (by SofTest), which does not support Windows 10 (again, not guaranteed by the bar exam - and certainly not something I want to have to worry). Review of software requires an internet connection to download the review, although it is not connected to the internet, other than for the upload.

I turned off the auto update (for now) and am hoping that if I do not connect to the internet for a long time (although I can't control how long and it may need to be connected for a long time to download), it will not be updated. Does anyone know of a way I can stop this automatic update? (When I've updated my old laptop Win8, then 8.1, I could opt for the update and run it when I chose, but also go back to the old version if I did not like the news. "It seems strange to me that there is an automatic update without option).

    Thanks in advance!

As mentioned Atli, it won't auto update. By getting the so-called "reservation", you still get to determine when the update is installed after that date, but it will significantly speed up the upgrade process because you don't have to wait for a download of 3 GB.

To uninstall the callback, see: http://www.ghacks.net/2015/04/17/how-to-remove-windows-10-upgrade-updates-in-windows-7-and-8/

  • How iCloud works for documents?

So, I was working on a Word document between two different iMacs.  To keep the documents in sync, I have it stored the iCloud drive.  May 17, died the main iMac that I used to work.  Now I'm trying to restore the iMac that died, but I expected the document in phase.  When I went to my other iMac to continue working the iCloud drive shows the word document to have an update date of May 11.  Basically, I lost six days of work.

I had assumed that iCloud drive could be used a shared drive between computers - like Dropbox or 1prediction.  But this isn't the case or something unusual broke my sync files to the cloud.

So how does iCloud?  It is not synchronize whenever a file is updated, but uses another system?  I just want to understand how it works if it does not happen.

Otherwise I could use Pages that seems to work as I expect to work the synchronization whenever there is a change, but in this case the word is the right tool, not Pages.

    Thank you.

  • HP Envery Phoenix 810: New PC, added my own SSD, how to move Windows?

    Hello

Just got this new PC, but it did not come with an SSD, so I added my own. But I can't understand how to get Windows installs it. I want it to become my main boot drive.

Delivery to zero/system restore does not give me an option to specify a drive.

Since this is brand new, there is no problem with wiping the disks completely and starting over.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thank you!

    Greetings,

810 HP PC usually have a 256 GB or 512 GB SSD drive option available for purchase.

Create HP Recovery DVD discs or USB key to aid Recovery Manager from HP.

Exchange in the new SSD on SATA0 and run recovery using DVD or USB recovery drive to the new drive.

This will create a new installation, so save the good things before doing this.

You can also clone the drive using third-party cloning software, but if you are interested in going to win 10 it could cause upgrade problems. Some third-party cloning software changes the disk partition SSID that cause the Win 10 upgrade fails.

Some SSD drives come with the cloning software. Install the software, connect the SSD to your PC via the included USB adapter and run the cloning software to migrate OS to SSD. Then, install the SSD on SATA0 and start Windows on your newly installed SSD.

Again, if the SSID is changed using the cloning software SSD manufacturer, you can have a problem upgrading to win 10.

So, if you want to win 10 then do it (upgrade) before installing the SSD.
