  Thank you for your message.  It does not sound like one or several files in Media Player have been corrupted, uninstall and reinstall should solve the problem.  Uninstall Windows Media Player 11 can be a difficult process.  Click HERE for instructions on how to uninstall WMP11.

  3. Select the Safe Mode with networking with the arrow keys.
  4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
  5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
  6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

• 8620 HP: HP 8620 uninstall does not remove everything from my computer

  I don't have a HP8620 installed and connected to my laptop.  It also means that I don't have access to the printer number so I can't go directly to customer service!  IMO poor customer support, that is why I post here.

  I get a repetitive error message with every restart, indicating that the HPStatusBL.dll cannot be found.  The location specified in the message box shows C:\Program HP HP Office jet Pro 8620\bin\HPStatusBL.dll.  When I look in the noted 8620 folder using windows Explorer, to my surprise, there is still a folder 8620 here and there objects still in the bin folder.  (HPCustPartic.*) Why is this?

  Also in the registry search I found several references to the hp entries 8620... printer, fax... Why is it if I uninstalled the printer 8620?

  For my part, I tried to reinstall the HP 8620 printing software, and then immediately uninstall. Of course, which has not changed anything and I still get the error message at every reboot.

  I want to tell you that some applications/programs have their own uninstall program that must be run to uninstall it from the computer. This could be the reason why the apps are not in the list programs and features.

  To uninstall applications, I would ask you to navigate in the C:\program files location to find and run the program to uninstall this application to uninstall files.

  I could have tried remove manually, but the trial version installed clean - I could never use CS6.

  I had already broken down and attempt a reinstallation of the new version over the old version without uninstalling and it worked for Firefox and Thunderbird.

  I didn't know that I could get away with just delete the folder. I thought that I had to uninstall and clean records, etc. as well.

• Old MSXML4 to uninstall does not delete the dll

  So I have this Win7 Office who had a program requiring MSXML4 inside. New version of program now plays nice with MSXML6. I then go to the usual Control Panel to remove all entries related to MSXML4. But I discovered that the .dll files are still in place:

  A much better method of renaming of .dll to .dl. If a problem occurs, you can easily go back. If all is well after a few weeks, then you can delete the files.
