  Done everything as instructed, in the last step, I just downloaded the Windows Update troubleshooting in http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/troubleshoot-problems-installing-updates tool and run it (did not find any instructions specific to my problem)

  Well, it been 6 days since I uninstalled KB3008273 and he hasn't asked me to install windows 8.1 so far.

  Windows 8 on a HP Pavilion a1010y running.

  If I have the list of all applications and then right-click on one, sometimes I get the menu with uninstall on it, if I click on uninstall, I show a list of applications on-demand to choose the file I want to uninstall.  The soft originally, I clicked on is NEVER in the list.
  Here's a selection that has the menu with this uninstall:
  
  If I hit the uninstall, it is what is displayed, note the absence of the file that I wanted to delete.
  
  Sometimes, if I click on an app and I get the menu with uninstall on this, the app disappears. It is the minority of solutions that occur.

  Hi Hubert,.

  I want to tell you that some applications/programs have their own uninstall program that must be run to uninstall it from the computer. This could be the reason why the apps are not in the list programs and features.

  To uninstall applications, I would ask you to navigate in the C:\program files location to find and run the program to uninstall this application to uninstall files.

  Looks like that maybe some things are lacking and there's a registry cleaner run which has removed some things. What I suggest you do is to perform an uninstall of level 3 and then once that finished, please download and run the HP printer install wizard to get the software reinstalled.

  If all goes well, once this is done, you should be able to start a new search.
