  Have you tried Microsofts Fix - it Tool? It is reported to remove office at the normal time of uninstallation fails.

  Good news is THAT MSE is showing protection is enabled and given that you do not receive notification of Security Center advising the firewall is not enabled it can be assumed that it is enabled. Bad news is that I don't have an answer. You have any other real time protection(Avast, AVG, etc.) currently installed? What, if any, previous protection in real time of programs have been installed and they did include a firewall? You made using tools and methods to remove properly uninstall completely?

  Just to let you know that I managed to solve the problem of CD by uninstalling the VLC media player and then put it back in place. He played perfectly. With respect to other issues of troubleshooting, I uninstalled fixit microphone and then just used a new one that I googled and fortunately it seems to work. Thanks again for your help.   This occurs if the filevbscript.dll runtime script is not properly registered in the system.

  Try the steps below and check if you are able to run the Microsoft fixit.

  a. click the Start button, type cmd. In the result of the research with the right button on cmd and select run as administrator.

  b. type cd %windir%\system 32 (Note: there is a space between the system and 32) and press ENTER.

  c. type regsvr32 vbscript.dll in the command prompt, and then press ENTER.

  d. type regsvr32 jscript.dll in command prompt, and then press ENTER.

  If the registration was successful, you should now see the following message is displayed:

  DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll successful.

  e. now, try to run the Microsoft fixit.
