  The Solution: Tools - Internet Options - tab program... and there was the option of default Web browser. He said that IE is NOT the default browser. I changed it and IT WORKED.

I have to go to my dock to "force quit" Firefox. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the latest version of Firefox 38.0.1 several times and no luck. I tried to start Firefox in "safe mode" and as soon as my default screen opens (Yahoo.com) and when I click on anything, whether it's freezing immediately again.

  I'm not able to get Firefox open enough before it freezes to be able to go to 'preferences' to try to change or remove cookies or anything else.

  Also, I had hundreds of bookmarks, when I get Firefox and running, is there a way to recover these bookmarks?

  new user of Firefox with your own user account profile. Firefox may have
  many profiles under the same user account.
