Uninstall/remove Windows Messenger will adversely affect my system?

Just this evening, the Windows Messenger icon begins to appear in my taskbar to a red x and a pop-up stating something to the effect that Windows Messenger is not connected... or something... As much as I know, I use all of the features that relate to the Messenger and no recent updates have been installed. I've disabled at startup and I would like to know if uninstall or remove this will affect my system.

Another thing... I noticed that since I turned off Windows Messenger my system speed has improved considerably, especially while browsing online. Messenger just seemed to appear from nowhere and she is my online activities.

Hello

Is - this Windows messenger or Windows live messenger?

If it's Windows messenger, you can disable Windows components and check. Here is the link that explains how do.

  • Remove windows vista without starting the operating system

Hello! IAM using windows vista. Lately, I just figured that the computer has the virus iam so think upgrade to windows7 and I want to remove vista first. Is it possible to remove vista without starting? Sombody help please! Thank you!

    Hello

    1. you must have an operating system to be upgraded; in your case vista

    You cannot delete vista

    2. an upgrade is performed from an operating system of windows in your vista case, unless microsoft advises otherwise; does not apply in your case

solve your problem of malware or clean reinstall vista 1st - then upgrade

Download update and scan with the free version of malwarebytes anti-malware

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/MBAM.php

You can also download and run rkill to stop the process of problem before you download and scan with malwarebytes

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/rkill

If it does not remove the problem and or work correctly in normal mode do work above in safe mode with networking

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode with networking with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

Here are the different ways to reinstall Vista

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

  • Windows Update will automatically restart the system

After I install updates to Windows 7, I have to restart my system. The computer is done automatically. How permanently disable this? I don't like that gives Windows me a "choice" to postpone the restart - if I'm away from the machine, then I have no way to stop that and I lost all the data that I had and all the screens I look at one. I'm an adult; I can make my own choices on when I need to restart. Now I get more than 16 hours of work on a project because Microsoft thought that I was a child and could not take decisions for me.

How to disable auto restart continuously after updates?

To update manually instead (this means that you need to remember to update your computer when it is convenient to you - also know that you can not be protected against the latest security threats until you update)-
