Uninstall SP3

I need to uninstall SP 3 to recharge an old program from the printer, then I can reinstall it.
I NortonInternetSsecurity 2010 and do not know how or if that I first have to disable it.  I just upgraded to it.
Also if I am able to remove SP3 with Add/Remove Programs, and I go to the updates page, SP3 will offer an update?  I would like to make updates as much as I can to SP2 before you install the printer, but do not know what I will find.
I don't know if I should push IE8, IE7 or even how it's done.
Then I install SP3 after the printer works.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Where to start?

If the original installation of SP3 'broken' the scan function, what makes you think the same thing will not happen when you reinstall SP3?

You would certainly not want to uninstall (or reinstall) SP3 without having disabled first all NIS components then activation of Windows Firewall.

As far as I KNOW, NIS 2010 is not supported in WinXP SP2 or an earlier version if you uninstall SP3, you will not have a functional antivirus application, an anti-spyware application or third-party firewall.

If you have installed IE7 or IE8 after that you originally installed SP3, uninstall the latter could cause untold problems... but too bad, since you have no real-time protection be?

This Dell above has yet told you that the printer is not supported in WinXP SP3 and/or y at - it one (or more) updates driver for the printer that you have failed to install and which could solve the problem of scan function? Consult the Dell downloads page.

I need to remove the sp3 of windows xp pro because of troubleshooting multi material problems post install of SP3. I tried to follow the methods referred to in article id microsoft knowledge base: 950249. The 4 methods described, I could try only 2 of them.  The other 2 would not apply because that;  #1-remove via ' Add or Remove Programs ", the line in the list" Windows XP Service Pack 3 "missing the button remove and #3 - use the system restore" SP3 installed date is missing. The 2 other methods seem to work by following the steps described in each. However, when starting in windows after you run one of these methods, SP3 is still installed & was not delete.  Is there another way either manually, or automatically which can be eventually used?

If you are unable to remove using method 2 or 4, you're pretty much up the Creek with it, there is no other hair removal methods.

  • Stay programs XP SP2 after installation of XP SP3

I am running XP SP3 and have the following programs from XP SP2 remains: .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, 2.0 & 3.0 SP2 as well as MSXML 4.0 KB927978 936181, 954430 & 973688. I can remove these programs from my install programs without harmful effect?

They are not programs, they are the runtimes (MS .NET Frameworks), a parser (MSXML 4) and updates of security (KBs927978, 936181, 954430 & 973688) for the XML parser.

If you want to uninstall what you have listed the question is, when they were installed?
If they have been installed before Service Pack 2 has been applied, then you can now uninstall .

If they were installed after SP2 has been applied, then you can uninstall SP3 with all required reboots, uninstall the lot of them, restarting, reapply SP3 with all the required reboot.
Please note that MSXML 4 SP2 will be no longer supported after April 2011. You will need to install MSXML 4 SP3-
MSXML 4.0 Service Pack 3 (Microsoft XML Core Services)

  • XP sp3 slows down computer

I had been avoiding XP sp3 update because of potential problems that were noted on various sites including this one. However, for the updates important it is now a necessity. XP pro sp2 played perfectly, and I followed the installation instructions precisely (#950717 KB). The installation went without any apparent problems. However, after the install boot ups have become important slower by several fold and Internet startup, programs, etc. have also slowed. I tried to uninstall that once again boot up almost normal and then reinstalled sp3 with the same result. I have been the internet looking for an explanation for the downturn and a fix to anything will do. I have 2 computers with xp pro because management software I need (medical) work not with vista or 7. It therefore seems to me that since I continue to use xp and to get updates, there should be a solution to this problem.

[1] I even found a post by you in 2008 or 2009 would recommend to uninstall SP3 because of the problem of slowing.

[2] I precisely followed the instructions in KB #950717 for download, then install.

A1. NEVER take recommendations or advice given to someone else as applicable to your situation, even if it seems to be the same. Each computer is different.

  • SP3 and IE8 update problems

Hi, hope someone can help me.  I run a Pentium 4 with Windows XP Media Center Edition machine.  I did the update to IE8 and then install SP3 thing that other people have had problems with.  I had bad too, so I uninstalled IE8 but I got in trouble, others have had with it.  To cut a long story short, I managed to go back to IE7 and recovered my settings for this.  I uninstalled SP3 and got my machine about how it was.  Now I want to install SP3 but Windows update will not propose it me as he seems to think that I have already installed.  The thing is, I want to run this computer in my home LAN, and my son computer Vista can't see my XP machine.  I want to install the LLD file but when I download this fix it install as it says I already have a newer version on my machine, which I don't have!  So it seems to me that I have to get rid of the registry entry, or anything which indicates all of the Microsoft network that I always have these things that I once installed, but no longer have.  If someone knows a way to do it, I would be very grateful for your advice. Best regards, Steve
