Uninstalling SAV allowed that Windows update to work

I just wanted to say that uninstalling Service worked for me! I uninstalled SAV, then to update windows, all set to date, system rebooted my computer and it works fine! I have a computer Dell desktop, not sure more information, I don't know much about computers. I just wanted to say thank you for the info! I feel like a computer expert now! Question can I reinstall Service or use something else?

Try to re - install ZoneAlarm on laptop, BUT it tells me that I must upgrade to the Microsoft Windows Service Pack 1 (SP1) to do this... I am running Windows Vista and when I click on windows update it works for literally hours without anything happeneing.

Zone Alarm has a key valid license - but for some strange reason, he will not have, so I had to uninstall and reinstall ZoneAlarm - he tells me that I need this update - who will not come?

Note: Windows Firewall is turned on right now and when I look at 'exceptions' does not offer updates of windows as part of the selection list.

Please, any advice on this will be greatly appreciated.

I am running Windows 7 and noticed that Windows updates did not work. The parameters are defined for the update every day. When I went to update manually returned an error WindowsUpdate_80070017.  MSFT site was no help. Any recommendations?

Since neither updates Jan - 10 have installed, I'm going to hand you Support MS in the hope that they can resolve the problem. See below.

That being said, is an interpretation of the 80070017 - cyclic redundancy check error "a device attached to the system does not work," which suggests that a hardware problem might be the cause of the error (although I must say that it is a very low possibility in this case).

    Good luck!

More effective than a virus - KB930494 MS update ends with true Msg that Windows cannot now work correctly

I started to reinstall Windows XP, after he has screwed up and I discovered that all the system snapshot
I created backups worthless - MS removes automatically after 90 days...

But when reinstalling Windows XP Pro MCE 2005 I managed to beat or dodge the many problems - like all the
famous error when update .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 and many others
Suddenly I met an error generated by Microsoft of NONRECOVERABLE type!

While trying to install Windows, I agreed that Windows was full of bugs and security flaws and
need a large number of fixpacks installed via Windows Update.
Such a group of patches is called KB930494 and the full name is:

.NET framework 1.0 Service Pack 3 SYSTEM. WEB. DLL and MSCOREE. DLL Security Update for Windows XP Media Center Edition and Windows XP Tablet PC Edition

Windows Update gave a brief error msg that this update has failed and I have tried to run this update

claims that "Windows may not work correctly")

Windows XP has been partially updated and may not work properly.

So, this update of Microsoft killed my system - it sure that _ 'does not properly"more.
Lots of things off, lots of BSOD...

Og - of course I should have used the system restore and created a backup that I should come back...!
I did well - but this bomb of viral type of Microsoft made sure it was not possible to create
a valid system by restoring such a backup. Probably because half the file system matches the other.

The worst part is - even if I try to reinstall Windows again, avoiding this Virus created by MS, how can I be sure that
This will be the only disguised bomb nothing extraordinary provided by Windows Update as necessary security patches?

So guys, what is the best utility backup/restore partition there?

  • I got the Conficker virus and now I can't get Windows Update to work

I got the Conficker Virus/worm infected my system, but have now got rid of him (I think).

I noticed yesterday that Windows Update has just stopped working, it has a red symbol X and said 'windows update cannot currently check updates because the service is not running'. Then, I figured that it could be a virus and tried to download AVG anti-virus, but the virus stopped me to access a website or a program to do with protection against viruses (including all Microsoft sites). Finally, I used a separate laptop and negative to download AVG and some other anti-virus/malware programs and down them mode without failure. I then ran Windows malware removal tool. That seems to have gotten rid of the virus (which has been identified as Conficker), I can now go to any Web site, so it seems that the virus is gone or disabled.

However I can not even access Windows Update. My guess is the virus disabled some component of it, but how now operate again? Is it possible to re-enable it manually? Or y at - it something that I can download to fix?

  • Windows Update stopped working.

I have the 64 bit version of Windows 7 SP1 installed on my laptop [Dell Studio 1747 with processor i7 4 GB RAM & 750 GB hard drive.  Windows Update stopped working on my machine.  All updates through April 19, 2016 have been installed.  I already did the following:

    (1) installed the previous images dating back to several months

    (2) only run WindowsUpdateDiagnostic.diagcab to get error # 0 x 80070005 several times

    (3) race reset Win Update.bat unsuccessfully

    (4) run MicrosoftEasyFix20179.mini.diagcab without success

    (5) I tried install subinacl.msi and runs the recommended Reset.cmd file

    (6) installed WindowsUpdateAgent-7, 6 - x 64 .exe

All the latter were applied as suggested on the Microsoft Support Website.  None of these maneuvers in addition to the various applications of my antiviral software and malware, brought any resolution of the problem.  I would appreciate any suggestion short of a new facility, because I can't seem to find anywhere, all the new boards.

I don't know what worked, but Windows Update started to update itself again.  What I don't have, though, was to limit the number of updates, I got the update at some point, less than 30.  I read a post at one point noted that a large number of updates may increase the risk of errors of download and installation.  I had some mistakes on the first download, but those corrected when I download tracking the rest of the updates.  I do not wish that Microsoft would create a repair or update protocol independent site, because it seems that this is not an uncommon problem.

OK, so I'm in a bad mood, so this will be brief. I managed to understand I get BSOD every time I update my graphics driver, and I have no idea what kind of card I because it is a company built PC (never buy Dells) and the owner of this PC (that is to say my father and family) reinstalled Windows compeletly before I could look, so all I have is "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" in the Device Manager. Try to manually update the drivers causing the BSOD once I chose to run windows normally (it runs in safe mode now too, which is of course the pre reinstall improved)

So I don't really know what to do at this point.

    Hello

Dell can tell you what the graphics device in the computer is so check with their support, their online
documentation and drivers and ask in the Dell forums for known issues. Check the model number
of your computer on the Dell Site for drivers - it should indicate the appropriate driver.

The fact that it BlueScreens when you try to update the driver could indicate there is something wrong
with the video device. Because it has a "Standard VGA adapter' this means that the driver does not load.
