Unity 4.05 CDE

Hello

The unit of 4.05, you can create your own conversation (coming soon). Is it possible to build in the following configuration:

When an external user get transmitted to the unit because the called party has passed to call for unity, he will hit a converation with a general command prompt. This prompt by announcing information, including keys to choose (IVR). The external user selects one of the options and will get transmitted to a figure or a Subscriber based on the option and the number ipphone he was transferred. (hope that makes sense...)

In other words; I remember in my conversation request variables such as the phone number he is passed the form?

THX

Sijbren

We have added features of Recordset native SQL right in the script this week to 4.1 - he's very nice... no backend dll not necessary for most of the changes more (unless you are tangling with the message store or MIU and others - must always drop a DLL for now).

  • What is the Unity Web Player?

    I use a Dell laptop with Win 7 SP1.

I noticed something called 'Unity Web Player' in the CTL PANEL > PROGRAMS & FEATURES.  I was able to find such a thing in C: / under APP DATA (hidden) > LOCALLOW > UNITY.  As I pointed out, I couldn't find the program when I changed the folder options to show hidden files.

According to the website (http://unity3d.com/webplayer/), it allows my computer play 3D on the web content.

Frankly, I don't know if I need it... or if it's just "junkware" that was preinstalled by Dell, when I came to the computer.

Anyone know what is this thing?  And, if it can be safely uninstalled?

    Thank you.

    Hi Matthew,

If you do not need or use the functions of the Unity web player as mentioned in the website of the unit, you can safely uninstall the program. Above all, it came pre-installed with your Dell laptop.

In addition, you can post your question in the official community of unity.

  • Altered in Cisco Unity Connection and cancelled permits NTP server

I use Cisco Unity Connection 8.6.1 and cancelled my Inbox licenses.  A few days ago I noticed that the timestamp of the voicemails was different from what said our CUCM so immediately, I assume that the NTP servers were different.  I was correct and made the change on our server CUC.  I came back to add another user, a few days later and was motivated that I didn't have enough licenses.  After researching on it after the fact, it seems that this happened because the value of NTP server is one of the values that cannot change with the current license, and I'm in a State of the trial for 30 days (24 days left now).  Now my problem is that I don't remember what would replace this NTP server.  How can I fix this problem?

I guess the connection of the unit is installed on the virtual machine and therefore license MAC is here

Due to the right I'm going to intend a Migration of 8.6 connection unit to 11.0 of connection of the unit before I can improve CUCM. I am sure that the answer is Yes, but would there be problems running 11.0 of connection of the unit with CUCM 8.0.

Nothing fancy on the face of connection of the unit, no unified messaging ect.

Looks like you need at least version 8.5 for the SCCP and SIP integration CUCM to be supported. Check the compatibility of connection of the unit guide below.

    Hi Douglas,.

With the status of remote port monitor you can also log the session and it will create a notebook file on the computer where you installed. The output is easy to understand, but if you want to know the DTMF insisted some old calls then traces the path.

You must all tracing to the level of detail. If the trace is defined at the appropriate level, you can see traces of conversation Manager or traces Manager call detailed CUC.

  • MailStore unity and Exchange

    Hello!

    (1) how unity distinguish e-mail, fax and voice messages when it verifies the Subscriber mailbox?

    (2) when the unit checks the mailbox of the Subscriber for new messages, it seems that in the Inbox or in all folders?

    Thank you

    Sergey

    1. the unit uses extended MAPI properties to determine whether a message is of a particular type (i.e. the message class IPM. Note.Voice.Unity with a media type of voice and an attached WAV is considered an answering machine). Types of fax can be defined by 3rd party Fax Configuration tool from fax servers 3rd party use various message classes for new messages.

    2. the unit cannot access the Inbox of reception and deleted items folder (it may empty the sent items folder) - no other folders are accessible.

  • Exchange Server Migration 2000/2003, unity 4.0 (1) (4)

We are running Exchange 2000 in an advertisement in 2000 with the 4.0 unit (1).

Due to some problems with our current Exchange Server, we need to accelerate our migration to Exchange 2003.

We will be upgrading the schema AD 2003 this week, and planned to upgrade Exchange this weekend. I know this will have a direct impact on the unit even after reading the documents to upgrade, I'm not 100% sure to get a grip on that everything must be done to make this a smooth transition.

How the migration will work, we will build a new Exchange 2003 server in the same organization, and then move the mailboxes to that server. We then decomission existing exchange server and build another with his namesake and IP address as a Server 2003 and migrate all the mailboxes back, permanently.

With this double-move in mind, does anyone have any advice, suggestions or traps to help us?

    Thanks in advance.

    Brian

Running Exchange 2003 ForestPrep causes a REFUSAL of ACE appear in each administrative group for the Exchange domain servers group on the 'Servers' container. Assuming that you are using the security model, the permissions wizard puts in place where the unit connects with a domain account that is not in the Exchange domain servers group, you should be fine. But I very well many customers choose to use a method of security home brew or put users in a bunch of unnecessary groups. So as have done you that ForestPrep does not grief of the unit.

Unity 4.0 (3) and later supports Exchange 2003. So I would upgrade to 4.0 (4) of the unit before moving to Exchange 2003. Once you're at 4.0 (4) you just need to upgrade to Exchange 2003 Exchange System Manager and run the latest version of the permissions wizard if you plan to run Exchange 2003 with SP1. You can download that here:

    http://www.ciscounitytools.com/App_PW_403.htm

When you bring the new tipping online server, you must re-run the Configuration Cisco Unity Message Store of add/remove programs and let the unit move the Unity_servername mailbox by choosing a new partner server. You can t just move the mailbox without the cause of the layout of the store Message what unit won t know where to find. Same thing for the what swing you on the new Exchange 2003 server.

    Thank you

  • Cisco Unity full hard

    Hello

    Running Cisco Unity 4.x

with exchange 2000 on the same box.

I have two left that everything is installed in the c:\ drive.

    now c:\ drive becomes full.

I have drive d:\ with 10 GB of free space.

How can I use this drive d:\.

    Concerning

    M

Well, 4.x is not real specific - there are 4.0 (1) by 4.0 (4) - many differences between these versions.

That said, there are a few places to start here. The first is the maintenance of unity here guide:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/SW/voicesw/ps2237/products_maintenance_guide_book09186a0080228417.html

You can move the directories of newspapers to the D drive (in the guide above)-also known as manage the sizes of mailbox for users as well as turning on a circular logging if you do the regular backups of the Exchange database (this can be what is chewing your space).

If Exchange is installed on C (I assume you are because you say 'all' is on C), you can then follow this technical trick to move logs store and transaction of the messages to another drive:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/partner/products/SW/voicesw/ps2237/products_tech_note09186a00800c6f5f.shtml

who will save a lot of space on C if logging stuff above is not sufficient.

Finally, you can move the SQL transaction logs and files on the D drive - you will find details on this in the installation guide

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/SW/voicesw/ps2237/products_installation_guide_chapter09186a008022b8af.html#wp1664607

My guess, however, will be that if you pass by the maintenance of the unit guide and check your situation of journaling Exchange, which will probably be enough to free up disk space on your system - if you do not circular logging and that you don't make regular backups of Exchange using BackupExec or something in this direction, then in Exchange transaction logs files will become big enough and chew your space. Whatever it is, the procedures here, should you get from A to B freeing space on C.

  • Unity 4.0 (2) and /ForestPrep for Exchange 2003

We plan to upgrade our Active Directory in Windows Server 2000 and Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003 and Windows Server 2003 AD network. We currently have two unit 4.0 (2) servers (Unified Messaging) in two separate locations, each serving a different group of offices. All in all, we have more than 1,000 users in 5 different locations. All these users and locations upgrade to Windows 2003, Exchange 2003 and unity 4.0 (4) at the same time is not an option. Therefore, we would gradually migrate each location to Exchange 2003, Windows 2003 and unity 4.0 (4).

I understand that unity 4.0 (4) is the recommended version to use with Windows 2003 and Exchange 2003, but I've also read in Cisco documentation as 4.0 (4) unit when running on Windows 2003 requires that you are already running Exchange 2003. What confronts a dilemma in that we have separate locations of mutiple supported by one server shared unity and we simply cannot risk all these sites simultaneously to unity 4.0 upgrade (4), Server 2003, and Exchange 2003. So, what would be the best strategy to go where we want to be? This brings me to the following questions:

    a. If we run / Exchange 2003 ForestPrep against our field now even if we are always unity 4.0 (2)?

    b. can we begin to introduce Exchange 2003 servers in each of our branches (administrative groups & routing Exchange) while staying at unity 4.0 (2) provided that these servers are not designated as a partner of unity and without voice mail server or connectors of the unit (for example, unity voice bridge connector) are on these servers?

    c. would make sense to upgrade the servers of the 4.0 unit (3) first and then move to unity 4.0 (4) once all the Exchange servers in all our branches have been improved in Server 2003 and Exchange 2003? This interim update seems to give us more flexibility in our path to upgrade its operating system to Microsoft Exchange server version requirements are less onerous

Windows 2003 is not necessary for the 4.0 unit (4). Likewise, it is not recommended because there is evidence of the way in which Windows 2000 with the unit, but we do support Windows 2003 if the client really wants to use it. We ship the unit on Windows 2000 and that's what we recommend at this time. No functionality is lost under Windows 2000.

Officially we do not support have all Exchange 2003 servers or even execution of ForestPrep if you have lower than 4.0 (3). That said, the only flaw we've never seen this is when the unit is connected under the local system or when the subscriber accounts are on Exchange 2003 servers. You wouldn't be the first customer to do so and it should be fine but really understand that it is not technically a Cisco tested and taken in charge of the configuration.

    Thank you

  • can't get messages of unity

    Unit

    3.1 (6)

    Exchange 2000 Service Pack 4

users, tap messages, phone password, they enter

    but then nothing happens, silence.

can't all the time. so it works OK most of the time.

4.0 (4) is you prefer bet here.

On the unity server, you will need to install Exchange 2000 SP3 and post-SP3 rollup. Who will be patch System Manager Exchange 2000 that includes MAPI code that the unit uses to talk Exchange.

Mind that you install not complete blow Exchange on the unit, just SP3 and post-SP3 Exchange 2000 System Manager.

And note also that there are several versions of post-SP3, so make sure to download the latest version from microsoft.com.

  • Unity double switch integration - licensing question unity 4.0 (3)

Unity double switch integration - licensing question unity 4.0 (3)

The unit was sold as a single IP integration. My client needs Dual Switch with an Ericsson PBX. I received the license key of ORC, and I opened a folder of TAC.

TAC said that the license file will not allow installation double switch integration. The Cisco SE on the account indicates that the license key will allow me to make the integration of the double switch.

Who is right? I heard that the moderator here has all the answers :)

The is correct. Any customer with a license 4.0 can do double switch. You don't need a special permit.

  • Could not import the user with Exchange 2003 to unity 4.0.1

We had a user leave and come back 2 weeks later. Its AD account has been maintained, but his e-mail and voice mail have been removed. When we activated its AD account and created a new box of e-mail, it can operate on the network and Outlook. However, the unit 4.0.1 it can not see when I try to create a voicemail for her using "import of exchange functionality. Anyone know why or how to fix this?

    Geoff

It is likely that the unity of this user properties are always on account of the AD and the unit won't you not re-import them because he thinks they're alread a Subscriber. If you had deleted them as a Subscriber first before deletion of their AD box so it wouldn't be a problem - but assuming that wasn't the case I guess that this is your problem.

The best way to proceed is to pop open the tool Global Manager of Subscriber in the warehouse of tools on your desktop. Navigate to the server of the unit you want and right click and select 'Import users' in the dropdown menu drop-down. The import users dialog box, navigate to the folder AD in that the user is and right click on them - if the option ' remove subscribed real estate "appears, select it and they will be 'cleaned '. Then you can right click on them again and import them (or do through the SA at this point if you really want to).

  • Migration of mailboxes unity 4.0 (3) Subscriber

I have a question about migration offbox mailboxes of current subscribers the unit of an Exchange 2000 Server to another server Exchange 2003 by using the same Alias Exchange. The two exchange servers are under the same ad as the unity server.

In each existing subscriber account the unit, the unit stores its Exchange Alias matching the location of the server and the Exchange mail store. I would like to know that during the migration or spend these Exchange accounts of a mail store from one Exchange Server to another e-mail from another Exchange Server store, how can update us of existing subscriber accounts Exchange server and mailstore information without deleting the existing account and import the account using the Exchange account using the new Exchange Server with new mailstore? (The Subscriber always uses the same AD user account and even Exchange Alias all right)

    Thank you

    ---

    Raymond

    Hi Raymond,

You are migrating users from one constituency to another normally, then you will need to re-run the configuration Assistant message store to point the unit to use as a partner Exchange Server 2003 server.

This URL will be of little help...
