  I have the R500 with WinXP SP3 and player SD slot does not properly small or large SD cards. Device Manager displays a certain activity when a card is inserted, but the resource (My Computer) Manager shows not all SD cards / new readers. Any ideas how to solve this problem?   What types of SD cards are you using exactly?

  I checked the user manual of the Portege R500 and it supports the SHDC cards up to 8 GB SD cards up to 2 GB.

  I recommend also to install the last driver on the Toshiba site.

• Downgraded from Vista to XP and unrecognized sound card

  Any help would be appreciated. I spent from Vista to XP and now there is no sound, no sound card is recognized, and I download all drivers imaginable to try to get her recognized map and sound working again.

  Does anyone else have this problem?

  Vista seemed to slow down, and that's why I went back to XP. I don't really want reinstall using Vista if I can avoid it.

• Unrecognized SD card reader

  I have a SD card reader built into my Lenovo Thinkpad T420, who is not recognized by Windows 7. I know that it's a problem with the operating system, because I have dual-boot Ubuntu and it works very well in that. I downloaded the latest driver for Lenovo, but that does not solve the problem. It does not appear in Device Manager or my computer. Any ideas short of a system restore?

  You get an error message when the SD card is not recognized?

  This problem can occur if the drivers for the SD card is not used for a long time.

• HP m8000: unrecognized in the PCI-Express x 16 slot video card.

  I am upgrading to a former m8000. Hp already put a new 750 watt PSU in it Corsair and it does not always recognize any of 3 pci-e video cards I've tried.   This is because the latest gen video card is compatible with UEFI BIOS, not the legacy BIOS that has your PC.

  The BIOS legacy do not see it as a gift.

  You will need a video card that only inherited BIOS compatibility or that has a switch that allows you to group compatibility legacy BIOS and UEFI BIOS.   Sapphiretech of the 200 series r7 r9-300 series video cards meet the criterion.

Apple will come with a driver who run it it?

• Satellite Z830 - unrecognized 32 GB SDHC card

  I have a Satellite Z830 with the SD card reader.

  Sheets said he read SDHC cards, so I bought a Transcend 32 Gb SDHC card to put all my music. When I plug it into the laptop SD card reader there is no nothing - nothing show in Windows Explorer or disk management. It's as if the reader doesn't even know a card is inserted.

  However, if I put the card in a SD USB card reader and plug it into the USB port, the computer sees the card very well. I can copy files to and from it. Is this a driver problem, or is this hardware connected?

  According to the user manual, the internal card reader supports SD card (8 MB - 2 GB), SDHC (4 GB - 32 GB) and SDXC (64 GB).
  So you should be able to use the 32 GB card with no big problems.

  If the SDHC card works in other books, then I would say that this s a compatibility issue that's one and only a plausible explanation for me maybe, you should test another card from another manufacturer under Z830 32 GB SDHC.

  Hello:

  If your integrated graphics card does not work, and reset the CMOS does not work, you can try putting the PCI express x 16 video card, you now have in the location PCIe White x 4 slot (slot next to the slot PCIe x 16 black white video card) and see if you can get into the BIOS to change the PCI x 16 setting.  It might work in the x 4 slot.

  If it does not, you will need to install a video card PCI (the one that goes in one of the white PCI slots) and use it to get into the BIOS, so you can change the settings to enable the location of PCIe x 16.

  So see if you can find a cheap, used, video card PCI on eBay, and should allow you to have the video again.

  You should also make sure you have removed all the connections of the computer when you reset the CMOS (all cables, power supply, mouse, monitor, etc.).
