Unstable Port LAN T440s

Hi all

My LAN port seems to be unstable. I insert the cable and hear the rattling but no led lights. I have to push the cable as a result for the indicator. It can also disconnect if the cable is moving.

Is this a defective port? And, if so, what will take to fix? (i.e. what they replace/fix?)

Thanks in advance!

You can do light in the port to see if the pins are bent? Because if they are, they can easily be straigthened again. To swap on the port is quite another thing.

    Hello.

I reinstalled Windows 7 Pro x 64 of the Toshiba recovery partition. It has installed all the drivers and software. The laptop works very well.
But, after the OS re-installationI it is impossible to connect to the local switch using the LAN (Ethernet) port. Adapter network (translation from German) reports: "identification of network / activated / network cable removed. See the video:
    https://youtu.be/C6W_OBzRo8A

First time after about 10-15 minutes, I had a stable, added the laptop to our Active Directory connection. But after that restart the laptop cannot connect to ethernet.

I installed the driver LAN of the 15.7 and updated the BIOS to 4.10
    The situation has not changed.

I also tried to use an IP address to fix instead of DHCP - always problems.
Tried different LAN port on the wall - always problems.

Another laptop work well on the same ports.

The LAN port has worked before you restore the OS of the recovery.

I don't think that the LAN port has real hardware problems.
Maybe I just need to change a few settings of network card in device like the speed Manager and so on.
The problem is - I go to this place once a week and it would be nice to have a few other ideas which might help.

    Hello

After the recovery specifications own image installation has "standard" setting so LAN should work without any problems, except that you have changed some settings.
Over the last 10 years, I got a lot of machines many times and I have never seen anything like it. After LAN laptop wired needs about 30 seconds and connection must be very stable. The two LEDs near the LAN connector must be ACTIVATED (green LED flashes, of course).

I don't really know what to suggest. Maybe you need to reinstall new OS.

    Hello guys,.

Read the user manual before you buy, I found something that annoying me...

On page 19 of the Manual, I found:

Then... IF mode Access Point, the other 4 LAN ports are not usable as a switch?

    Is it not?

    Thanks for your time.

    Dear VMware community

Did someone a challenge?  Being totally new to VMware (3 weeks to read and watch videose etc) I hope that this will start a discussion on the best way install, configure, and deploy my new virtual environment in a phase of the 3 stage for phase 1 to move into the new year 2012, first quarter for Headquarters and then so on.  I'm reading VMware vSphere Design, Mastering VMware vSphere and VMware vSphere 5 technical clustering Deepdive 5.

Little background on our remedies and knowledge: -.

There are 2 IT guys, me (TD) and JP.  JP has been with the same company and in it for about 5 years to deal with printers, ADSL, workstations physical and Small Business SERVER 2003 servers on sites, I was in there for about 12 years covering the market of small businesses (10-100 users) mainly on printers, workstations, LAN and WAN, servers Microsoft SBS 2003 to 2010 database Server 2003 and 2008 R2, Exchange 2003 to 2010, Draytek, WiFi AP and switches routers unmanaged.

Little background on the parameters of our society: -.

We have 1 company but 3 separate sites...  Office of Chief of site 1, Site 2 Site 3 (as a franchise) so each site tracks than their own facilities on the chart of accounts, personnel etc. etc. but reports to Headquarters.

SQL is only used by 10 users for an internal application.

10/10 MB Internet in lead line

Site 2 has 50 users with a SBS 2003 and Server 2003 std, AD, DC, DHCP server, DNS etc.

Server 2003 std manages a small application by a third company which send a little info per week.

Adding all sites operating systems, data, Mail etc etc I will use about 1.5 TB

  • If 2 Airport extreme can stay connected to each other using their LAN ports?

    Hello friends,

I would like to know if 2 Airport extreme or 1 Airport Extreme and Airport Express can stay connected to each other using LAN ports at the ends? I thought this is the LAN port 1 connected to the WAN port on the 2nd.

    Thank you

To clarify the issue and the scenario, one of my friend described a typical scenario in which there are 2 AEs. AE1 has an ISP in its port WAN and AE2 has a different ISP in its WAN port. This 2 AE can mutually connected between them by using ports LAN AE1 and AE2 ethernet cable? He said this could be feasible if AE2 remained in bridged mode, without using the ISP attached to its WAN port. I just don't get how this is possible. Friends of the search help.

  • WRT54GP2 cascade successfully, but VOIP does not work via the LAN port

    Hello

I searched a lot for a solution to my problem, but have found that it is really above my level of understanding. My apologies if this question has been answered before – if she, I can not find or understand.

I have an existing wired network that is running on a Netgear WPN824v2. This configuration works perfectly.

I want to add a Linksys WRT54GP2 to this network to act as a Wi - Fi hotspot and the VOIP connection point. I don't want to replace the Netgear with the Linksys, I want the different VOIP in a physical location access point. I would therefore like to them so cascading: Internet-> modem->-> Linksys Netgear. I do not want to bind the Netgear and Linksys Wireless, but instead, use a cable.

I actually had this works almost perfectly, using the following parameters:

NETGEAR IP 192.168.1.1 with wireless off

Linksys IP 192.168.1.254 with disabled DHCP, active wireless.

In this way, the Internet works, I can open a session the two routers and wireless of Linksys works very well.

The problem is that VOIP will not work. I think it is because the connection between the two routers is: port LAN Netgear-> port of Linksys LAN.

I understand VOIP tries to go through the Linksys WAN port, not the LAN port. If I connect LAN Netgear port-> Linksys WAN port, the phone works indeed but I can no longer connect to the Linksys, wireless router and unable to connect more.

I would like to VOIP and the wireless work at the same time. Is there a way to get the VOIP by the Linksys LAN port instead of the WAN port? Or is there a way to make wireless and router connection work, if the Linksys is connected to the Netgear via its WAN port?

    Thanks in advance!

    -Jono

When you wired your VOIP phone directly to the Netgear router you can in fact calls?

If your Netgear router connect to the Linksys router to the WAN port, it will not work. As you already disable DHCP on your Linksys router and you will not have access to your Linksys router. This type of configuration has some other parameters.

Connect the Netgear router to router Linksys on the WAN Port, then connect your computer to the router on the LAN Port Linksys. To connect to the Linksys router using default IP: 192.168.1.1 and change the LAN IP of the router Linksys 192.168.2.1 and DHCP must be activate and click on save settings. Once the parameters are now save your network power cycle and all your computers should be able to go online.

Just built a new system Windows 7 deluxe two weeks ago. I loaded windows perfectly on 5 May. I also did an update of the material disk driver and everything worked very well. Automatic security updates took place a week later on 12/05/10 and my port LAN RTL8111DL Realtech and my USB broadband UM175 Pantech model stopped working. Both say that the driver is not installed or working. I tried to reinstall both several times without success. Institutionalized, Device Manager will say invalid parameters. I downloaded the latest drivers on another computer and tried in vain. Whenever I try to reinstall it, the device gets a higher number. • TC 1302 via a LAN cable?

Hi, I have a new MacBook and replaced so access to my TC.

The TC is installed within a university network via cable, and I still have the problem to get connected to the internet.

I installed WLAN and it shows my network.

So I run the backup vial Ethernet/LAN cable.

But I still have the problem:

    • and: does anyone have a tip for the installation of a TC in a protected University LAN/WLAN? who are the preferred settings? (I spoil in a point and I'm not fixed)

    Best regards, Steffen

The TC is installed within a university network via cable, and I still have the problem to get connected to the internet.

Most likely, your University has an Internet router at the other end of this cable. That would mean, you need to configure your TC properly in order to access the Internet. The best course of action is to speak with your University of departmental it to get this set up.

However, I want to make my backup, which is not possible via WIFI, such as the TC is not properly installed in the internet.

The TC has NO need to have an Internet connection to use Time Machine for backups. Your Mac has just need to be on the same wireless network that provides the TC.

    • where to plug the MacBook (I have a USB-Ethernet adapter for the retina of 13 MB) in the TC? The man or the host 3 ethernet Ethernet plug?

It must be plugged into one of the three ports LAN (opposing arrows).

    • How can I tell my MB and the TC that the GET connected? (as I can't see the TC on my MB as device)

In its default configuration, the TC will broadcast a Wi - Fi network that is not secure, with a network name of something like: Apple network NNNNNN. You just need to connect your MB to this network.

    • the reform through to get a proper backup?

Sorry, but I do not understand your question.

Yes, talk with your University computer support staff.

  • shared variable LAN configuration

    Hello everyone,

I have a problem with deployment variable published network share and I hope that the experts of Labview in this forum could help me.

I'm contacting a compactRIO (IP 192.168.10.100) via the published network shared variable. 32-bit LabVIEW version 2014. CompactRIO is AES.

On the target, computer laptop, there is a port LAN (the usual) and it is used to connect to the internet with the IP (for example 10.115.22.200). There is also a USB adapter to ethernet, and it is used to connect to the compactRIO using IP 192.168.10.10. I am able to ping the compactRIo of the laptop.

I called up the Manager of distributed system, but I couldn't see the compactRIO. I could see all the other devices on the 10.115.22.200 network.

My question is, is it possible to set up a laptop with two IP addresses (192.168.10.10 and 10.115.22.200) with different subnets? I suspect that this is not possible and this is the reason why I do not see the compactRIO.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

    Yes, shared variables are deployed.

There is a solution. Apparently affecting USB) 1 Ethernet adapter to the network of 'Home' and 2) gateway defaults to the IP address of the cRIO, solves the problem.

  • Connection to the internet with the 8 port Gig switch

Hey you all the benefits.  I have 6 desktop computers in my house right now, and each of them should be wired.  I thought I'd get the EG008W 8 port 10/100/1000 switch, but before I do that, I need to know if I can run the cable my modem Cat5 cable to a port on the switch uplink to provide access to each 6 workstations in my home?

    Thank you!!

The WRT610N is not an uplink port. It has a port from the internet. As a router, it offers two different interfaces, one for the internet side and one for the side LAN (the side LAN is connected to a switch 4 ports). A router separates the two sides and routes traffic between them.

An ethernet switch extends an ethernet network. It is not a router. It doesn't have an internet port or similar. It does not separate anything. He joins all devices connected on the same LAN.

Older ethernet switches had uplink ports to post a link with other switches. This is because older switches do not have ports to detection automatic, which means that they are not able to know you used a cross-cable or right to connect. With the new switches you don't have to worry about it more. They configure each port correctly some cable you are using and any other device you connect to. All the switch ports are the same.

You can get the EG switch that you mentioned before or any other ethernet switch to expand the number of ports wired in your LAN. One of the ports on the switch simply connecting to a port LAN of the WRT, and you can use all the remaining ports on the WRT and the switch. Do not connect the switch ethernet directly to your modem. Only the WRT.

  • Bad port 5 swich?

    Hosts:

I used this same switch 5 ports for awhile but removed that I is no longer necessary to share the connection. Now, I needed to reuse the switch. I connected the cable between the router and the swih e-NET and the port fire lighted up as expected. Whenever I plug a cable to any port LEDS to blink just as well as the connected computer report that a network cable is unplugged. The wiring is good because I can connected to other computers and router and internet access.

When you connect the Ethernet cable to the switch and the computer you see all the lights on the Port Lan Switch?

When you connect the switch cable to the computer, disable and enable the connection to the Local network, then check if it still shows the same message. If still the same problem try to reduce the map of your network card on your computer.

Click on the Start button > Panel > network connections > right-click on icon "' connection to the Local network'" and select properties-here click on the button click "Configure" on the "Advanced" tab - In the area of 'Property' to highlight the link speed and duplex/connection network/type or type of media - and in the "value" box to select 10 MB/s half duplex / 10 half mode base T/10 basic and click OK.k OK.

  • Setting up Port Forwarding on both routers E2000 for the Slingbox PRO - HD

I bought recently a Slingbox PRO - HD and the software of the iPad in HD mode on my iPad when I'm away from home.  When I install the Slingbox using their setup program web-based, he pointed out that I don't have my network configured to optimize performance for the visualization of the internet, which is what I need for the iPad.  I think that I don't have the port forwarding for port 5001 set up properly on my system.  I can connect successfully to my Slingbox away from home on my iPad and my laptop, but the performance is indeed poor.

I have a modem cable and two routers E2000.  The first E2000 is connected to a modem cable into my home office and the second E2000 is in my home theater.  I used Cisco Connect on separate computers to configure two routers.  Here are the details:

    Cable modem:
    Scientific Atlanta
    Model DPX2203 series
    Part number 4006351
"Ethernet" connected to the "Internet" Router 1 connection.

    Router 1:
    Cisco Linksys
    Model E2000
    IP 192.168.1.1
    Wireless enabled.
'Internet' connected to the modem cable.
    Connections 'Ethernet ':
    1 Seagate drive network storage
    2 desktop PC
    3 desktop PC
    4. the Router 2

    Router 2:
    Cisco Linksys
    Model E2000
    IP 192.168.2.1
    Wireless enabled
'Internet' connected Router 1 "Ethernet 4'.
    Connections 'Ethernet ':
    1 Slingbox PRO - HD
    2 desktop PC
    3 A / V Receiver
    4 Blu - ray player

How to configure the port forwarding for Slingbox PRO - HD on port 5001?  Also, what is the best way to configure two routers E2000 so that I can use as wireless access points?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I would recommend using the second E2000 as an access point only. Which simplifies and facilitates also the transmission much:

0 unplug the E2000 second the first. Connect a computer to the second E2000. Open the web interface to http://192.168.2.1/
    1. change the address LAN IP of the second E2000 to 192.168.2.1. on 192.168.1.2.
    2. turn off the DHCP server on the same page.
    3. save the settings.
    4. disconnect the computer and son, one of the LAN ports of the second E2000 for the first E2000.

For other ports LAN to get an ethernet switch.

Now, all you have to do is to set up the port forwarding on the first E2000.
